Avatar f tn Okay it's saying the crown rump length measures 9.5mm consistent with a gestational age of 7 weeks and zero days.a small yolk sac is identified . The gestational sac measures 19.1 mm, consistent with a gestational age of 6 weeks and 6 days. There is normal cardiac rate and activity, measuring 128 beats/min. These measurements are consistent with a composite gestational age of 7 weeks and zero days. This is within one standard deviation of the patient's menstrual age of 7 weeks 5days.
Avatar m tn Technically you're right. The age of the fetus is only 3 weeks, but in gestational age, which is what most doctor's use, she's 5 weeks. Basically, gestational age includes the two weeks in the beginning of the cycle, starting with the first day of her last menstrual period. Since your wife did IVF, however, they just add 2 weeks to the time from retrieval to get gestational age. Hope that makes sense.
Avatar f tn The first two weeks of your pregnancy occur prior to fertilization. Its counted from the beginning of the menstral cycle.
Avatar n tn You count the length of your cycle from the first day of your last period to the first day of your next period. The length of your mentration does not calculate. Once you know the average length of your cycle, you can find out when you are supposed to O.
Avatar f tn You actaully concieve roughly two weeks after this date. It is a gestational age not the age of age of the actual baby. So for example if you are five weeks into your pregnancy then the time of conception was actually three weeks ago.
Avatar f tn It's because that's your baby's gestational age. I am currently 39 weeks plus but my baby's gestational age is only 37. Most people go by when the last menstrual cycle was, so off of that, you are 10 weeks pregnant. Hope that makes sense to you.
Avatar f tn I'm confused by the ultrasound gestational age. I believe I conceived the weekend of 9/27/14. Based on an ultrasound on 12/11/14 I was 10 weeks 5 days and on 1/9/15 I was 14 weeks 6 days. They're consistent with each other but it puts my due date as July 4 and conception 2 weeks later than I thought. Am I wrong or is the ultrasound measuring me incorrectly?
Avatar f tn .Gestational Sac: Gestational age = 4 weeks plus (mean sac diameter in mm x days). This relies on the growth of the normal gestational sac of 1 mm per day after the 4th week of gestation. For example, a gestational sac measuring 11 mm would be approximately 5 weeks and 4 days gestational age. (4 weeks plus 11 days = 5 weeks and 4 days)." So, a gestational sac of 6.6 mm = 4 weeks + 6 days. heres a website provides detail regarding gestational sacs http://www.ttuhsc.

Avatar f tn on 17 jan my usg shows i am 6 weeks 4 days preg,my lmp was on 24 nov,2009,my usg report says, A WELL DEFINED FUNDAL GESTATIONAL SAC WITH A SINGLE VIABLE DEVELOPING EMBRYO INSIDE OF 6 WEEKS 4 DAYS MATURITY SEEN AS ASSESSED BY CROWN-RUMP LENGTH (C.R.L. ) OF 6.3 MM.EMBRYO CARDIAC ACTIVITY IS WELL DETECTED IN BOTH REAL-TIME SCAN AND DUPLEX DOPPLER WHICH IS AROUND 121 B/M.SECONDARY YOLK SAC IS SEEN ADJACENT TO EMBRYO.CERVIX APPEARS NORMAL IN SHAPE WITH ENDOCERVICAL CANAL DIAMETER OF 3.0 MM.
Avatar m tn The most accurate way to determine gestational age is using the first day of the woman's last menstrual period and confirming this gestational age with the measurements from an ultrasound exam.
Avatar n tn The two confounders are that with increasing age miscarriage rates increase (most commonly due to an increase in chromosomal abnormalities secondary to aging oocytes), and with increasing age the menstrual cycle can begin to vary in length by 7 days or more. So it is not necessarily the change in cycle length (or a change in the luteal phase) that is the cause of a miscarriage, but rather the fact egg quality continues to decline with age.
Avatar m tn Is it in any way possible for me to be the father of a baby if the baby is estimated to be 5 weeks and 5 days old on the 20th November from a scan but I had intercourse on September 15th with the mother to be? I know that 5 weeks and 5 days previous is October 9th but firstly I cannot be completely, 100% sure that the 20th is exactly the date, I can only go on what I am being told from the lady in question.
Avatar f tn wait, they told me on aug 11th i was 7 weeks and 1 day but that was the gestational age so did i still conceive around june 6th?
Avatar f tn I am a 22-year-old medical student and know that normal cycle length varies between 28 to 35 days. My cycle however is around 40 days and sometimes more or less.. The question is, can that be normal? I'm a little overweight but not obese, I exercise regularly and I don't think I have any obvious signs of PCO. Any help?
Avatar m tn Keep in mind that gestational age is based upon the assumption that a women has a 28 day cycle and ovulates on Day 14 (and on Day 14, the date of conception, baby is considered 2 weeks gestation). But many women do not have a cycle that fits into this "norm" and thus pregnancy dating can be a little off...and for early benchmarks (such as heartbeat...
Avatar f tn Expected date of confinement (EDC). if you have a regular menstrual cycle this is the calculation of your due date. I googled it and this was what I got.
Avatar f tn t take into consideration when you ovulate. Some women ovulate early in their cycle others later. If you consider gestational age of the baby then the heart doesn't start beating until around 28 days. Hope that eases your mind. Next week will be better.
1472764 tn?1287588186 They go by gestational age, dating from the first day of your last menstrual period. Fetal age is from date of conception. The reason doctor's use gestational age is because MOST women don't know when they conceived but do know when they had their last period. Since ovulation is usually around day 14, fetal age is approximately 2 weeks less than gestational age. I thought that was really weird...
Avatar f tn The accuracy of your ultrasound will depend on the quality of the equipment and the experience/skill of the person doing the exam. Also, gestational age and fetal age are slightly different. Gestational age is usually based on your last menstrual period...but actual conception (and thus actual fetal age) takes place about 2 weeks or so AFTER the start of your last menstrual period. SO...if you are 13 weeks gestation, conception took place approximately 11 weeks before.
Avatar n tn LMP is NOT accurate in a number of cases because women can ovulate at any time during her cycle, and gestational age based on LMP assumes a women ovulates 2 weeks after her last period. When the latter is not the case, gestational age is essentially date of conception minus two weeks and is usually deduced from an ultrasound (which can be off by as much as a week too but tends to be much more accurate during the first trimester).
Avatar m tn As per the LMP age calculation 18 weeks but ultrasound gestational age shows 22 week.........
