Avatar f tn I have a question about my menstrual cycle...I had my last period April 25th and now i haven"t had my period and its May 29th so im 4 days late...so if my period is late can there be a chance that my period comes in the beginning of June so i would have skipped period for May? Avatar f tn It is not uncommon at your age for menstrual periods to be irregular, so I would wait up to about 6 weeks before being too concerned. If you continue to have irregular periods, you may need to consult with your doctor--it is possible that you could have polycystic ovary syndrome which is a catch-all term for a hormonal imbalance that causes irregular periods. Often irregular periods are treated with contraceptive pills to regulate the cycles. Hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Hello, Femitrone and morning after pill when taken together can cause withdrawal bleeding and irregular menstrual cycle and it should not interfere with the working of the emergency contraceptive pill. However keep a check on your periods. If you miss them then do a urine for pregnancy test after 1 week of your menstrual cycle. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.

Avatar n tn Hello there, Menstrual cycle can be affected by a lot of things, including stress and diet. So yes, anxiety could be the cause of your irregular period. i'd would still suggest she gets tested to see if everything is normal. Avatar n tn Im a 25 year old female with problems of the digestive and reproductive tract for the past 4 months. For some reason I get two periods a month. The first one and the second on ovulation day and its the third month its going on. I chart my temperature every morning for the next month and I see my GYN in a month to see if I'm even ovulationing and take it from there. I'm not on any birth control pills pregnant. I was just wondering what this could be causing this.
Avatar m tn When your menstrual cycle pattern starts to change, this is highly likely to be hormonal. On the other hand, because you say that your diet is "not as good as it should be" you may be anaemic. With anaemia, that too can make the menstrual cycles to become irregular, either too heavy or scant or complete loss of periods.
Avatar f tn Ok I'm very confused with my body right now. I haven't had a menstrual cycle since the beginning of February (it's now the end of May). I took a pregnancy test last month which came out negative. I figured by this time a pregnancy test would come up positive. I should have enough hormones to be detected right?? I have had irregular periods before but never THIS irregular. Maybe I have secondary amenorrhea? Any insight would be helpful.
Avatar f tn Gynecological conditions like polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), and uterine cysts or polyps, can also bring about alteration in menstrual cycle. Even sickness and stress associated with it can delay periods. However, pregnancy is still the most common cause of delayed or missed period. So if there is a history of any unprotected intercourse then pregnancy should be ruled out.
