613536 tn?1294238447 (we missed our opportunity that month so I cant say my not being pregnant is caused by not being off of the pill long enough) My periods were also irregular on the pill and the very first cycle I got off of them I was regular again. Well, good luck to you and look up things like "cervical mucus", "ovulation symptoms", "luteal phase", and "ovulation calendar". These are all things that will help you track.
Avatar f tn I've been off the pill for 3 months after 9 years of taking it (I'm 34 years old). My first menstrual cycle was 40 days, then 33 the next month, then 34 the next--much longer than I'm used to. So here are my questions: Does this mean I ovulate later than if I had, say a 28 day cycle? I'm using a fertility monitor that said I was most fertile on day 13 but this seems wrong considering the long cycle. If I am ovulating later, will this hurt my chances of getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn Now I resumed taking the pill in the middle of my menstrual cycle starting from the first tablet (I was supposed to get back on the pill on the first day of my period but I stupidly decided to start taking the pill without waiting for my period to begin). What is going to happen to me? (I didn't have sex all this time so I can't be pregnant).
1448937 tn?1284742036 What was the bleeding like you had for the first 5 initial weeks? Did it start off bright red after birth and then move to a pinkish colour and then a yellowish white discharge? If so then this is lochia and is completely normal. It's the healing of the site of where the placenta was attached. Lochia can last up to 6 weeks. The bleeding that started a couple of weeks after that is probably your cycle returning. Are you breastfeeding or bottle feeding.
Avatar n tn Given that I was on the pill for so long, does it take time for my cycle to normalize? I have no idea what the length of my cycle was prior to starting the pill. Thanks for any advice.
Avatar m tn I am 18 years old and have been on the pill for 3 months, during the first month I was on anti-biotics and did not have sex with my boyfriend until I had been off this medication for 1 pill pack, since then we have had sex and I have not missed any pills. I am up to my third sugar pill and have not began my period, is it possible I am pregnant?
1722885 tn?1309474656 s appointment with your Gynecologist to find out what is going on and they can put you on the birth control pill or something else to kick start your period and get that going. Hope it goes well.
Avatar f tn I have been on the pill for the past 10 years, and in January, decided to go off as my husband and I are ttc. I got my normal period on January 28th for five days. My husband and I spend the month "baby dancing," especially around the estimated ovulation time. Approx. 5 days past my estimated ovulation time, I discharged a large amount of egg white consistency, pink, cervical mucus.
Avatar f tn I decided to go on the pill because I wanted to regulate my cycle because I hate not knowing when my next period is gonna show up. Plan on staying on the pill til we try for another.
Avatar f tn I want to know if it is possible to take the pill to regulate my cycle, as well as to lessen the cramps and the bleeding. I have had two periods since I had my son the first one was short and sweet but the second one was awful. I had to change every hour. I have never had cramps or extremely heavy bleeding but now I have both. I don't even get any relief pain wise until I take four pills. I don't want to get into to much detail but its bad.
Avatar f tn I got my period on the 5th of december. I took the morning after pill on the 14 of december. I then started my period again on the 22nd of december. Should I have expected for my regular period to come on the 5th of january? And would I have ovulated again after this second period?
Avatar f tn You mentioned the mini pill, so I figured I just take the chance to ask you how you liked it. The reason for me going off BC most recently is I have a family history of blood clots. It was suggested to me that the mini pill is a lot safer in terms of the risk for developing clots, but I have never known anyone who has taken it.
1343283 tn?1300898264 I was only on the pill for 6 months. I came off the pill a month and half ago. I was silly and stopped it halfway through the pack. I am now on 11 dpo and due for my period 25 June. I am really hoping it doesn't come. I took a First Response Pregnancy Test yesterday and it came up negative. I think I will try and do one tomorrow. It's so hard all the waiting and hoping.
Avatar f tn How soon after getting off the pill can you get pregnant or how long after getting off of it does your cycle return to normal?
Avatar f tn Hi, I got my period in 5 days after coming off the pill and I have regular cycles ever since. Just like you I was on the pill for 10 years. Although it was 6 years ago and I never got pregnant but some of my close friends got pregnant in 3 months after coming of the pill. They all are in their mid/late thirties and took the pill for 6-10 years. Don't be desperate, it can happen soon!
Avatar n tn Such as bleeding in between periods, and not having my period during the off week. I was told this meant the birth control was no longer working for me. And yes, I had been on that particular kind for quite some time (a year or so). I began taking the regular pill and my period was regulated quite fast. Hope it helps!
628735 tn?1273875777 Vanessa, i'm so sorry that your going through this. I remember going on the pill, I had so many reactions both physically and mentally, my Dr kept having me try something different but it seemed each one had a different effect. I would talk to your Dr. and see if you could be put on a lower dose or even a different pill all together. Good luck sweetie and try to hang in there.
Avatar f tn Progesterone is elevated in the second half of the menstrual cycle and drops to very low levels right before the pre-menstrual period. In my case Im guessing it is not raising high enough for me. Then it says the problem with hormones during menstruation occurs when progesterone is converted into another hormone called allopregnanolone, which acts like a sedative, or valium or even alcohol. This hormone can make you feel relaxed, reduce anxiety, and eveb reduces seizures.
Avatar n tn You may want to visit the FP and pay for that and then get the uterine ultrasound done at Holy Cross if the FP thinks you need to check it out. The FP or gyne can give you hormones if necessary. If you are very tired you could be anemic.
