i get cramps in my back that feel like a charlie horse that you get in ur calfs do u happen to know if this is normal

how long they last and how far apart they are. From what ive heard contractions can feel like menstrual cramps and/or lower back pains. if they are getting closer together and more intense- call your doctor!!

I'm 34 weeks and having the strongest menstrual type feeling cramps ever. My Lower back is in so much pain. It's almost unbearable. Should I be concerned? Did anybody experience this before labor?

I'm 31 weeks 4 days and I've been having this really bad back pain that feels like menstrual cramps. I also get the same pain in my lower abdomen as well but it's consistent. There is no rhythm to it so I don't know what to make of it. It hurts pretty bad at times then at others not so much and it's lasted about a week now. My baby is moving just fine and I'm not spotting or anything. I'm a ftm so this is all new to me. Anyone have any idea what this could be?

I had the same problem. Switching sleeping positions or recruiting your partner for a back rub can really help! Watch your posture when sitting up. Also a hot water bottle or heating pad feels great (just like with menstrual cramps). If you don't have one, use an old dish soap bottle and fill with hot water, or take a pouch or old sock and fill with rice, close, knot and heat in the microwave for a couple minutes.

I should mention that I always have back pain during my AF though. When I talk about menstrual cramps, that is what I refer to b/c that is what hurts me. ... Now that I think about I may be weird .... Does anyone else besides me cramp in their back during AF? I think its genetic b/c my mom did and so does my sister. Just wondering ....

When the uterus stretches it feels like menstrual cramps, mine were a but stronger than regular menstrual cramps. If they get unbearable I would call the doctor just to be safe.

Im having lower back pains they feel like menstrual cramps that won't go away I tried a warm bath Tylenol and to relax and it just won't go away its on my right side of my lower back....

sometimes they can be strong and others not and sometimes they last long and other times they go away. it feels like those cramps when your about to get your period. Yeah I would give a call just to be on the safe side. It's probably nothing, but it's better to be safe than sorry. It could be really bad gas pains, because they can be very uncomfortable sometimes & cause cramping. It could also be brought on by dehydration, so be sure to drink plenty of water or fluids to stay hydrated. But yeah my cramps just feel like really bad menstrual cramps, like the 1st day of your period feels & it's usually constant.

I am 35 weeks tomorrow with baby #1. Been having menstrual like cramps in my lower back and lower belly/pelvic area. It started not last night, but the night before. Occasionally it gets painful and sharp pains spread up towards my belly button. When they aren't the sharp pains that go up higher, it's just a dull ache like the period cramps. But the cramps have been pretty constant for the past hour or so. I know I'm not in labor yet, but could this the beginning signs?

Thank you! It comes on like a strong cramp and I get dizzy or nauseous and then I'm fine like 2 minutes later. And it happened a few times before but happened off and on all day today... I guess if it continues I'll call the doc tomorrow.

After my first miscarriage I pay attention to where the cramps are. When I miscarried I had cramps all around, front to back, much like how it feels when I went into labor with my oldest son. So my rule of thumb for cramps: if it's not in my back and I'm not bleeding it's probably normal. I'm actually cramping right now (17 weeks) I really think it's just stretching. They aren't painful, it hurts just enough to be annoying.

I am 18 weeks and have been having menstrual like cramps low in my abdomen on and off, along with discharge daily. (sorry TMI) I've read that these symptoms are normal, but I had low amniotic fluid with my last pregnancy and am just paranoid at this point. Anyone else have these symptoms?

Tylenol and back rubs help. Those heated pads would probably help also. They were good at relieving menstrual cramps..remember those?
