menstrual cramps relief medicine

I get such severe menstrual cramps every month and it's unbearable.. I started this morning and have already taken my prescription pain medication, but it's not working. I'm wearing a heating pad which slightly helps. I do all the "home remedies", though I'm still in pain! What else can I do for pain management?? I have an appointment with my gyno in a week and a half, but today and tomorrow I have the extreme pain and want to do something to stop it now. Any ideas?

I never needed it but for the first two days of my period. Advil is not a pain reliever or pain medicine, it is a muscle relaxer, basically. In other words, it blocks the prostaglandin that cause muscles to cramp, so they don't cramp. That's why it is so good for menstrual cramps. I don't recommend pain pills or opiates for period pain, but Advil can be just the thing.

I have been going through this since I was 12 and I'm 18 now. That is way too long for me. When I get my monthly menstrual, like on the second day I get really sick and vomit a lot. I have really bad cramps too...After the second day of my menstrual with the vomitting and stuff, I'm usually pretty okay. But my cramps last just about my whole period, my period is 7 days and I cramp for like 4/5 days striaght.

I am 34 weeks and have been getting menstrual like cramps around 31 weeks. At 32 weeks they were so bad at one point I called my OB because they were coming quite frequently. I sat down and drank some water and they only came again every now and then. They told me it was just Braxton Hix and nothing to worry about unless they became regular and/or more than four in an hour after I got off my feet. Does your whole belly tighten up when it happens?

Every month I get severe menstrual cramps. I have been to the gyno a few times looking for what I can do, but seem to be at a loss. I am not allowed to use hormonal treatments to help with the pain, such as the pill, because of other health concerns and no doctor wants to risk putting me on a hormonal treatment. Though the cramping doesn't respond very well to the pain medication I've been prescribed. At times I feel like curling up in the fetal position and just crying.

I'm 20 weeks. And these past couple of days I've been getting menstrual cramps and some type of pain (feels like needles poking me) inside my vagina and lower back pain. Should I be worried? m 40 years old, and judging by my older sisters and mother, I likely have another 11-12 years before menopause. Over the last year or two, my menstrual cramps have gotten much worse. hi liz.. i can't tell you the no of times i fainted during my periods and that too in front of people and in the public LOL.... it's normal i guess.. in my case it was that i have very painful menstrual cramps so bad that i can't bear it and have to take a medicine.. now this pain and the flow of blood used to lower my blood pressure and as a result i felt dizzy and then things blacking out and finally fainted.. do you too experience pains dear?? it might be due to lack of iron also.

Hello. I'm 22 years old and for the last few years (since about 16), I've been getting cycles that last from 3-4 months. During this time the pain is so horrible that I can't even move without screaming. Also, I've been getting blood clots the size of my fist, sometimes larger. I will tell you I'm still a virgin. Plus when my period finally leaves, I still get cramps and bloating that hurt tremendously, and I get full at meals very quickly.
