Avatar m tn I think I have a small frame because when I wrap my fingers around my wrist, my thumb overlaps my middle finger's nail. I also had a men's health physical last semester at my college and the doctor said, "He has a healthy look" as far as my body shape. I have low cholesterol and blood pressure and I also have plenty of energy. Over the past few years, I have become self-conscious about my weight because some people (mostly girls) have called me skinny.
649848 tn?1534637300 It's a good discussion for doctors to take all things into consideration when looking at patient overall health. Weight is one factor but not the only one to make sure someone is on track for good health!
Avatar n tn I haven't lost any weight, but I do feel like it helps me keep the smallest amount of control over my weight gain. Has anyone lost weight taking 1000mg? Is 500 just not enough? Would love hear from you. You can also email me.
Avatar n tn When my Psychatrist decided to try me on Topamax it was because of my anieity over my weight gain with the standard mood stabilizers. Within these past two years I have lost 38 pounds taking this medicine. I will say that I have done low- carb about 8 of those months but ashamed to say no exercise.I have suffered with migrane headaches for about 10 years - they are gone . I think i have had one mild one .
Avatar n tn With all of this it has caused a lot of weight gain, and of course all in my stomach area. I gained 20 pounds in 2 months; and unfortunately I have to stay on the hormones to control the endo pain. I started taking Wellbutrin XL a month ago to help a little with the mood swings I get from the 'menopause' but haven't had any luck losing weight on it. Any help or suggestions would be wonderful, thank you!!!
Avatar f tn I found that on this diet my body is no longer craving bread or sweets and I am never hungry, I really feel that no matter what, if you want to lose weight and keep it off then you have to make a life style change and stick to it. This particular diet for me has worked very well. I was also on the HCG diet for month and was very helpful. both work well if you stick to it. Hard to say I know, but when you see the results you are motivated to keep with it.
Avatar m tn Excessive hunger, weight gain. Did I mention diabetes and thyroid tests were within normal limits. Please help me or point me in the right direction. Thank you so much for hearing me today if you want to know anything else just ask and i will reply.

Avatar n tn After being married for 7 years, the sparks and getting comfortable with each other has set in. Also, he's work schedule and life in general. I also believe if you have gain weight, it can be a hugh factor for him, so make sure to always, take care of health and not let weight come between both of you and especially your health. It does not sound like he is cheating at all. Maybe just tired, schedule, work and comfortable as is after 7 yrs.
Avatar m tn That can lower your risk of stroke and heart disease. Worried about weight gain? Don’t be. There’s no causal link between monounsaturated fats and body fat. Substitutes: Olive, canola and peanut oils, peanut butter, tahini Eggs When it comes to breakfast, you can’t beat eggs. (That was too easy, wasn’t it?) Seriously though, at a cost of only 72 calories, each large egg holds 6.3 grams of high-quality protein and a powerhouse load of vital nutrients.
Avatar m tn I forgot to mention - I do not have many symptoms, outside of what I assume is anxiety driven headaches, and body aches - also some weight gain. Otherwise, I have had contact eye infections and I have developed GERD for the first time in my life and was also diagonised with Barretts esophagus though it was later reversed and my esophagus is simply inflamed due to my new onset of GERD. I also have tingling in one of my fingers...I touch the base and it tingles in my fingertips.
Avatar n tn I'm 54 years old and have had all the regular menopause symptoms; hot flashes, sleep problems, anxiety, weight gain etc. My doctor put me back on Avian 28 birth control pills & all these smptoms have stopped. However, I now have the most baffling of all symptoms: My body odor has turned very masuline. Both under my arms and in my female area. I smell like a sweaty "guy" down there all the time - same with armpits.

599170 tn?1300977493 I hate the way I feel every day, tired, bloated/constipated, the acne, hair loss, weight gain, then you have the mood swings and anxiety. I hate the fact that my body has about nothing feminine left to it. I am on bio progesterone and 2 grains of armour although I am feeling a bit better, I feel as though I have hit a pot hole and gotten a flat and am stranded and the doctors don't care they don't understand how horrible I feel day in and day out. They blame it on depression.
1489999 tn?1337802375 I do take wheatgrass daily to help my fsh which is a little high. I tried fertility drugs, but they only made me gain weight and the results didn't get me one pregnancy. 1007653 tn?1259389567 Hi, I've been in the gym for about 2 and a half years, trying to gain some weight and with some good results, tried some creatine supplements as well as whey protein and some multi. I read that Alpha lypoic acid is a good antioxidant and can help with creatine absorption so they recommend it. Now, I've been doing some research about this antioxidant and found many different reccomended doses, from less than 50 mg a day to even more than 600 mg a day.
Avatar n tn It is due to swelling of membranes that compress a nerve in the forearm. Weight gain diet/exercise, diet/exercise, diet/exercise. Or, normally all men have to do is cut down consumption and/or stay away from certain foods or drinks ( beer ;) ). All the above are related to thyroid, but each might need to be treated separately.
Avatar m tn I have gone through the hair-loss/re-growth process 3 times now. The other symptoms of dry skin. weight gain, irregular periods.....all her remaining symptoms went mostly away almost immediately with the addition of Cytomel/T3, and return with under-medication. My period is especially sensitive to T3, and was extreme before I went on thyroid supplementation.
Avatar n tn (This is certainly an important issue for women, but I'm less sure about the role calcium plays in men's health. Ask your doctor?) Here's a little horror story to help you feel better (!)...way back in the tx dark ages ('91) they turned me loose with what turned out to be no thyroid function and no one caught it for about 6 months. Can you imagine? When someone did bother to test my thyroid the TSH was in the several hundreds.
Avatar n tn Sluggish, headaches, sporadically not motivated, weight gain, difficult to lost weight even after running up to 5 miles three times a week, not happy, anxious, tired but difficult to go to sleep (high level of axiety, i think), etc.. I don't have the energy to get exicted over things anymore. Basically lots of the symptoms that I have found online for hypothyroidism. I am 35 in a couple weeks and I just attributed most of the way I feel to just getting older.
Avatar n tn I am 20+ years diag Hypothyroid and 2 years ago went severe hyperthyroid, was stable for 6 months now back to way hypo, I just hate the feeling, I have everything from feeling like crap to major foot cramps to weight gain to swallowing difficulty and the pericardial effusion crap. I had a nodule biopsied about a month or so ago and all came back benign on that. I wonder if Estrogen or other hormones can wreak havoc on the thyroid as well ? Results: 2/10 TSH- 10.87 Lab Ranges- .450 - 4.
Avatar n tn ) Wouldn't it be funny if there was a stricly men's message board for ttc. Can you imagine?? Bless his heart, but my dh has NO CLUE! And he really is OK with that. His motto it, tell me when and I'll be ready ...
Avatar n tn I am 55, soon to be 56. I noticed an incredible weight gain when I worked for a year and a half from 53-55. Then I stopped working earlier this year, did the low-carb thing for four months and started working out again. Lo and behold, my figure came back! I would trade being slender any day of the week for somewhat crepy skin. But that is our nemesis. I don't have money to spend on beauty products, nor on many supplements. So my routine is so basic it's ridiculous.
Avatar n tn the main thing I find myself struggling with is the restless sleep, that I need to focus on. to those experiencing weight gain, anxiety, etc... you need to pamper your body right now. give it plenty of water, eats lots of fruit and veggies - you need a clean/healthy diet and if you can, start exercising. Pop a b-12, multi, calcium supplement everyday. I started adding/eating more fiber just to help with digestion. I found a great vitamin for hair/skin and nails.
