Avatar n tn Here is an article on hep c thru sex though it concentrates more on gay sex Hepatitis C Threat Through Sex Seen By: DUNCAN OSBORNE A growing body of evidence suggesting that hepatitis C can be transmitted sexually is prompting some AIDS activists to call for more research and for AIDS groups to talk to clients about the health threat. "People are starting to hear that message," said Spencer Cox, founder and executive director of the Medius Institute for Gay Men's Health.
Avatar f tn i have found that bv is just an imbalance of good bad bacteria. i have had this issue before for about six months and i was wondering for the most part WHAT is that smell ? ! hahahaha. but it would come and go so i thought maybe my body was fighting it. then it remained kinda permenant as time went on meaning constant .
Avatar m tn also this really isn't a std related issue. I'd look for a forum for men's health or men's prostate/urethritis issues for better follow up. we help with getting a proper diagnosis and testing and something that's an issue for 10 years, isn't an issue for this forum.
Avatar m tn I used to be able to access the forums that I belong to by using the pull down menu under My MedHelp Diabetes Type 1 Type 2 Prevention General Health Diet and Fitness Women's Health Men's Health Heart Heart Disease Heart Rhythm High Blood Pressure Pregnancy 18 - 24 years old 25 - 34 years old 35+ years old Mental Health Anxiety Depression All Communities ยป But now I have to go to my profile and choose the forum list there
Avatar m tn Hey Worried, This forum is really an amazing resource, not only to get a sense of what is going on in terms of men's health issues (which we rarely discuss with doctors, much less our buddies!), but getting support for mental and physical uncertainty. I hope my posting has helped. I'm fairly certain mine's not an std, especially after reading some of the posts in the dermatology and urology boards (which I suggest you read as well).
Avatar n tn Thanks so much for advice, I think this Endo deals with a lot of thyroid but one thing right off the bat I didn't like was he only deals with Men's hormonal issues and not women's. I was hoping that he was going to help with my menopausal & osteopenia issue along with the thyroid since they all interact with each other in the body. After my phone call tomorrow I may be looking for a new Endo..probably a good thing if it comes to that.
Avatar f tn Since we can't get that because most doctors would rather condescend and issue decrees from on high rather than engage in fact based analysis, here's what I can deduce based on my own experience, a survey of medical data, and college level biology courses. 1. We engaged in sexual activity with a carrier of a strain of HPV and contracted the virus. 2. It remained dormant in our systems (in my case for a year) until the virus was triggered into activity and reproduction. 3.
172336 tn?1202258241 I have issues with that but their stance (and I can't argue with it) is that many of these people will get off drugs but if you wait for that to occur before treating them you may delay therapy too long. Tough area to work in. Sure, high levels of alcohol consumption will increase (to a minor degree, not by the 2-3 logs IFN/riba causes it to fall by) viral load in some people, but modest (1-7 units / week) have never been shown to impair responses to therapy.
Avatar m tn I had posted this in the "woman's health" forum area and got no comments back at all. That area doesn't seem as active of a community as this one. So I will re-post what I posted there related to my wife's hormone levels. As far as thyroid she is being treated with Armour and just got bumped up to 180 mg (from 165). her FT4 are BELOW range, her FT3 are about 25% to 50% of the range but the range is also wider than most ranges we see here.
Avatar n tn Seeying them in person was another waste of time since they could only spent a certain amount of time per patient, so some issues were not discussed. I would have times with frustrations no knowing things regarding my own health. The mood swings from this were most definitely noticed by my wife and children. I'm glad that I was able to come to a point where I did not let these doctors get in the way of how my life was being effecive.
Avatar n tn there are different conversations dealing with good old regular life issues, not the panic type meetings where there's a lot of whineing going on. It's ok mind you...I'm not trying to make judgements...just saying what a friend who's got 30 years says. I must say that starting the clonidine a few weeks ago has helped me taper considerably well...from 6 to 8 Norcos a day to 3 or 4. Ive also started to work out at a gym at 5:30 am...5 days now. It's hard to break patterns but one has to.
Avatar n tn OMG!! 46, will be 47 in June. Can't even tell you how everything seems to be failing, wrinkling, etc. & yes, it seems like it happened overnight. Perimenopausal as well. Had complete check up recently & no major health issues. However, my gyno has me hrt's(which I REALLY want to get off of). Added into the mix of all the skin issues mentioned, I am losing my hair like CRAZY. Anyone else having hair loss issues?
Avatar f tn A friend of hers also had an implant which had adhered to the bone. This person also started having a myriad of health issues, and so had the implant removed and did start feeling better. This would contradict my periodontists' assertion that osseointigration of implant material is evidence of no problem for your body. I gave her my number and asked for her friend to call me. I am waiting to talk to her. Talk to you later.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, I have this same issue. I know this under "Mens Health issues" but I am a 35 yr old female and have been having extreme heat sensations in my left wrist for about six months. I can go a week at a time without this sensation, and then out of nowhere it just is there. I am a non smoker. I have been undergoing several MRI tests in the past six months.
Avatar n tn I am taking a probiotic and Colloidal Silver to see if it will help. Both of these items can be purchased through a health food store. I've been taking it now for about two weeks. My symptoms are slowly getting better but still feels uncomfortable. I'm wondering if my partner needs to be treated, could he be a carrier of this??
Avatar n tn It really is painful sometimes. I was searching in the hopes that someone else not only had the same issues, but had a diagnosis as I am getting tired of spending $20 for my doctor to say take some motrin.
Avatar n tn i had echo done on my heart--normal chest xray--normal blood tests--normal (still waiting for the results of the allergy test though) so like the other post said...i feel better about my heart, and my health but i still cant breathe. Pulmonary function tests where the doctor said "it could be asthma, very mild though" he prescribed singulair and an albuterol inhaler for before i run. sometimes taking the inhaler can make me lightheaded. so i dont like using it.
Avatar n tn in my rapid healing foods book it says you hould realese it once a month for healty contractions. it messes with your prostate gland. i stopped for 2 weeks for health ive been to the gym lift heavier weights when you stop this ******** when i masturbate then go gym you get a head ache it says in my book you get lower back pain feel tired and lazy and i cant lift heavy weights. you go weak and skiny if you masturbate always.
Avatar n tn And I don't wear contacts either. And the itching drives me crazy! My health insurance doen't cover dermatology :( so I'm trying to solve the mystery myself. Any help would be WONDERFUL!!!! Thanks in Advance!
Avatar n tn Married 7 yrs no other partners no history of any health issues. Thought it could be atrophic vaginitis, but dr didn't seem to think so. The only thing that stops it from itching all day is anti itch cream like vagasil.
Avatar n tn Then this year about 1 month ago it came back and was 4 times the size of the first one. the size of a dice. So I grabbed for my British Columbia Health Guide Handbook. It gives you an idea of what's wrong, befor you see the doc. The book made it sound like no big deal, and does say it can come back, but doesn't mention any surgery's needed. so now I am curious too about how serious this is, because the health handbook reads...
