Avatar m tn I don't have health insurance so a visit to a general provider is not an option here... Thank you. Please Help.
Avatar n tn I don't know what to do at this point. I now have no health insurance and can't afford to see a doctor, especially for them to say i don't know what is worng with you. Does anyone have any idea what this could be??
Avatar n tn i found it out from all over the internet and it sounds like i have phimosis.
Avatar m tn Regardless, he prescribed me Truvada + Issentress for 28 days at my insistence. Unsatisfied with my experience at the doctor's office I went to the Gay Men's Health Clinic in NYC the next day for a second opinion on my situation. There, a PharmD and HIV research specialist advised me that PEP is a good idea just to be safe. The pharmacist prescribed me 28 Stribild tablets (because my insurance does not cover the truavda + issentress) to be taken once a day.
1310633 tn?1430227691 That the poverty rate remains so elevated years after the recession ended is disappointing, said Robert Doar, fellow in poverty studies at the American Enterprise Institute, a conservative think tank. "The recovery is anemic and slower than the typical recovery," said Doar. The Census Bureau also released an alternate poverty measure that takes into account various government benefits and expenses not captured by the official poverty rate.
Avatar n tn I have two children in college, both of whom are on financial aid. The local mental health clinic isn't equpped to provide regular therapy, and I can only be seen once a month for about 15 to 20 minutes. My insurance coverage is limited. Any suggestions as to where I might go to find affordable therapy? Thanks.
Avatar n tn It is an expensive drug and my health insurance had to OK it, but it is worth it. Haven't had any bloodwork since so I don't know my hemoglobin level. Still, my goal was to make week 12 without a reduction in ribovarin and use my viral load to make any decisions about reducing it. My Dr. is in agreement with that plan, provided I don't get too bad in the meantime. We live in snow country and the last two storms took me 4 hours apiece to clean up. It used to take 45 minutes.
Avatar m tn We never recommend self medication. Try posting in men's health, maybe someone there has an idea. Maybe symptoms are anxiety driven?? But this has nothing to do with a STD because of tests.
Avatar m tn I was tested by my previous physician for an infection and various STD's all of which came back negative. I am not on any medications other than Men's Health One A Day vitamins and some over the counter cold medication. I am trying to eliminate caffeine from my diet but even that hasn't changed anything. I need to find a new physician before I can be referred to a urologist.
Avatar m tn There is a list here in the forum of docs other members have used and liked. As far as no money goes. I am assuming you dont have health insurance? Are you eligible for medicaid? There is now in most states a high risk pool funded by the new health care reform act. Premiums are pretty reasonable and preexisting conditions are covered in the federal option.
Avatar n tn Most larger towns in the US have one or more providers who have particular experience with gay men's health problems; word of mouth from gay/bi friends might identify a knowledgeable, lifestyle-sensitive provider who would provide excellent, reliable care. Alternatively, visit your local health department STD clinic, where the care will be confidential, expert, sensitive to lifestyle issues, and likely free or very low cost. But do it soon.
Avatar m tn This suggests that anal pap smears for MSM make sense, and some researchers and clinicians (and activists) concerned about gay men's health strongly recommend them. On the other hand, no public health authority or prevention agency recommends anal paps at this time: not CDC, the US Preventive Services Task Force, the American Cancer Society, nor any state or local health department, to my knowledge. This isn't anti-gay bias.
Avatar f tn any further questions about this should be posted on an urology related forum or a men's health forum since it's not likely to be std related.
82861 tn?1333457511 Our COBRA policy expires this Thursday. We've been using two insurance brokers to try to find some kind of private coverage. Shoot, I'll take catastrophic coverage only at this point. I am uninsurable. Why? Because I am on opiate therapy. Every underwriter has come back with the same line. Good thing I've been tapering off the meds. I won't be able to afford them now anyway. My DH is uninsurable as well due to his Barrett's Esophogus condition and high blood pressure.
Avatar m tn What are the major ones? What are the minor ones? Also, this girl I don't think has health insurance. I wouldn't mind paying for her. How much do you think it is for a conclusive all around test?
492921 tn?1321293496 ok i'm going to be really gross...sorry Britt, lol. It sounds like him, tbh. if your normal vaginal pH is good and you don't get yeast infections without him in the equation (i.e. when you use condoms you're not actually exposed to him) then it must be him. A few often does he wash down there? He could try an antibacterial soap, or wipe off with vinegar.
148588 tn?1465782409 Republican presidential contender Ben Carson has maintained a business relationship with a close friend convicted of defrauding insurance companies and testified on his behalf, even as the candidate has called for such crimes to be punished harshly. Pittsburgh dentist Alfonso A. Costa pleaded guilty to a felony count of health care fraud after an FBI probe into his oral surgery practice found he had charged for procedures he never performed, according to court records.
Avatar n tn There I made a drunk choice at a strip club and paid to have sex with one of the girls. The place claimed that all the girls had their health cards up to date but who knows if that was really true? Anyhow, I received unprotected oral and then she inserted my penis inside her for about a minute or two into her anus. I then put on a condom and finished. It was a dumb move and I wish I could take it back. I have never expeienced any symptoms whatsoever.
Avatar m tn If you haven't had sex, your parents won't change the way they think about you - you haven't done anything. Perhaps you should post in the dermatology forum or the men's health forum here. Its not an std, and the only thing I can say is to see a doctor if you are concerned.
Avatar n tn I am so worried since I am not working and have no health insurance. My husband's employer does not offer group coverage.
1676223 tn?1304962589 In the future I will only go to places that are used to addressing gay men's health and not to my PCP or a general free clinic because they don't know how to deal with gay men's health.
Avatar n tn i'm just hoping someone has had some similar experience and can shed a little light on the situation for me... i have no health insurance or else i'd be talking to doctors... thanks so much for reading. blarg. -m.
Avatar n tn If you do not already have one - it is important that you have a gay-friendly/affirmative doctor who is knowledgeable about gay men's health issue and with whom you can speak to comfortably and openly. All the best..
