Common Questions and Answers about Men's health herbs

Avatar m tn I've been taking a GNC Mega Men's multivitamin for about a week and I've noticed a huge increase in my anxiety levels. My father took the same multivitamin for a few months and became mildly more anxious in that time period as well. I'm wondering if there's any correlation between taking a multivitamin and increases in anxiety... I've heard that, if anything, multivitamins are supposed to better your mood, but that's definitely not happening with me. Thanks for your help!
Avatar m tn A Harvard study published in the journal Human Reproduction found a strong association between men's consumption of soy foods and decreased sperm counts. In the study, men who ate a variety of soy-containing foods and then underwent semen analysis had poor sperm quality. Animal studies also found connections between males chowing down on soy and erectile dysfunction.

Anyways, it helps the men's sperm if they need it or not, it's still a very good idea. Anyways, if any of you are also having problems, go visit the Whole Foods store. He also said women need less stress, caffiene, and not a lot of sweets and don't over do the dairy products.
Avatar m tn Go and see an expert in Men's Health. He/she should order a battery of blood tests and subject your BF to a RigiScan test. This is a medical device attached to the penis at night to measures erections. It is not painful at all, just a bit inconvenient. With the above tests performed, the Men's Health expert will conclude if your BF's ED has an organic basis. If not, then he/she will recommend a psychologist who can tease out the reason for your BF's attitude.
1489999 tn?1337802375 Hi, I don't know much about men's results, but I am sure other women on the list do. There is fertilaid for men, so you should read about it. Take it one day at a time and hopefully things will be okay!
Avatar n tn Hello Kat, "after eating the latter" I read it fast and first thought it said LITTER!
Avatar m tn Anyway, after reading all these posts, which you must admit aren't the most uplifting, I went out and got a magazine. Men's Health. Get it? I turned the page from thinking about illness and mental states and switched to health. Only cost me $3.95. My apologies. I think I am panicking about not being able to stop this health kick.
Avatar m tn I intentionally gave the Chinese names so people wouldn't actually try self-medicating with these herbs. Run the list past Misha Cohen if you see her and see what she thinks. I also took Vit C and CoQ10 with my gastros permission.

"Whenever we're feeling achy or under the weather, we reach for the drugs in the medicine cabinet," Zinczenko told
546318 tn?1328197235 Well felt really crampy lower left side yesterday afternoon... and this morning AF arrived. I feel numb. Seems my system is still getting back to normal after lost baby. I am devastated. I researched reasons for m/c.. I know it was not genetic or chromosonal so another possible is too low progesterone to sustain.
Avatar m tn I have been in the same boat as everyone on this forum with gastro problems, so I speak from experience. I never suggested you take your health into a store clerks hands, your health should be in your hands making an informed decision about everything you do. I suggest to everyone what has worked for me. Whether you decide to try it is up to you, but name calling isn't necessary. I am far from being a quack as you suggested, just someone who doesn't suffer from acid reflux anymore.
Avatar n tn com's symptom list for primary hiv infection, which normally occurs about 1.5 - 2 weeks to up to 4 weeks after exposure. aj - when i was home, i called the NYC gay men's health crisis line when i was home and they recommended a clinic where i could get an early PCR test so i went to the clinic - i don't think the guy that saw me was a doctor so no he didn't really examine me at all - just listened to my story and i told him the symptoms i was having. he didn't check my mouth.
Avatar m tn Best of luck to you all.
Avatar n tn Here are my stats in case there is some common link that could be causing it. 53, excellent health, have enlarge prostate (take Flomax). Also take Centrum Silver, Zocor, Nexium and a baby aspirin. But, have taken all these for a long, long time and doubt any of them are the cause. I started a new job where I sit in an office chair 8 hours+ each day. The vibration started a few days after I started this job, though I've had office type jobs my entire life.
Avatar m tn I had posted this in the "woman's health" forum area and got no comments back at all. That area doesn't seem as active of a community as this one. So I will re-post what I posted there related to my wife's hormone levels. As far as thyroid she is being treated with Armour and just got bumped up to 180 mg (from 165). her FT4 are BELOW range, her FT3 are about 25% to 50% of the range but the range is also wider than most ranges we see here.
Avatar n tn I am self-employed now, so no health insurance at the moment. I have been contemplating my next move. Being that I have seen a urologist who dismissed it as just stress, my thought was to try and get a doctor who seems interested in unique problems, try and spark their interest. I have just been dealing with it. Every single day, as best I can. Some days its worse than others. But I am still breathing, so things could be much worse. Megazoid posted some really good info for you.
Avatar n tn I am sorry for your Dx. I am a female but also now hypo.Since the beginning of my illness everything I read regarding the disease, when I stumbled across the stats of men getting it, I read through it. Dx is rare. specially on sub clinical Hypo or Hyper thyroidism in men. I believe this b/c men are less likely to see a doctor when they have symptoms. and if they do go and get Dx'd - most do not have the patience and stay on top of it.
380530 tn?1239166138 1. Eat alkaline foods rather than acidic foods. Alkaline foods are vegetables, non-citrus fruits, cereal grasses (wheatgrass, barley grass) and herbs like black cohosh and valerian root. (acidic foods to avoid - meats, dairy, most grains - basically my entire diet!!) 2. Get lots of essential fatty acids: fish, fish oil, nonhydrogenatd cold pressed oils like flaxseed and pumpkin seed oils, eggs soy, raw nuts and seeds.
Avatar n tn It is a warm, sort of tingly sensation that lasts 5 seconds and occurs, I don't know, 10 times throughout the day. I wonder if I slept on the leg funny?? Stress?? I am 43 and in reasonably good health but seem to be a hypochondriac (spelling?) at times. I doubt this is related, but I have some sort of muscle strain in my hip/groin area that is possible due to an intense backpacking trip in October. Any feedback appreciated. Guess I could consult dr. after Xmas if still going on . . .
Avatar n tn Your ovaries affect mental health later in life, and bone health. I can sense that you are resigned to having the surgery, but I sure wish you could delay it and explore some alternatives. NEITHER the patch or the pill or any other drug will ever, ever be able to replicate what your body does naturally. You will never be the same again. The surgery takes all of 20 minutes, and the effects last til the day you die. Did they tell you some of the things that can happen?
Avatar n tn OMG!! 46, will be 47 in June. Can't even tell you how everything seems to be failing, wrinkling, etc. & yes, it seems like it happened overnight. Perimenopausal as well. Had complete check up recently & no major health issues. However, my gyno has me hrt's(which I REALLY want to get off of). Added into the mix of all the skin issues mentioned, I am losing my hair like CRAZY. Anyone else having hair loss issues?
Avatar f tn I had upper and lower jaw surgery 3 years ago and my health has never been the same. I was given 4 plates and screws in the mandible and maxilla and got the same story about the bioavailability of titanium, but I question it. I have done some moderate research over the last few months and I found one excellent study about a very small percentage of patients having significant health systems since receiving Ti implants.
Avatar n tn I have the exact same symptoms you all are describing. I am an 23 year old male in good health and I was diagnosed with RRMS (Relaps-Remitting MS) when I was 18. I talked to my doctor and nurse and the sensitivity is a part of an MS relapse. I am not suggesting that everyone who experiences this feeling has MS, but it could be a possibility. It could be a result of a number of things.
Avatar f tn I concieved through using acupuncture and chinses medicine. After two doses of chinese herbs, my period came! I had a total of three months of acupuncture and got my first positive OPK test. I became pregnant that month! I hate needles but all i can say is "it's worth it".
