Avatar m tn I had the snip over ten years ago.... Can you offer any explanation as to what i may have. Other facts that may assist, are my partner regularly suffers from cistytus, and i believe she had an infection about 9 months ago, as she often had a strong odour.
Avatar n tn At six weeks after possible exposure I tested negative for HIV at our university health clinic. I got in contact with a doctor in the men's clinic there and he said that he believes that I should be confident that I am in fact HIV negative. Should I take this negative result as a fact that I am HIV negative? Is it necessary to get tested further? I would really like this all to be over because it has been ruined my life for the past 10 weeks.
Avatar n tn Only 2% of hysterectomies and oophorectomies are done for a cancer diagnosis making up to 98% unwarranted. We as health care consumers and the ones who suffer the consequences of treatment (or lack thereof) need to do our homework and not depend on getting all the facts from medical professionals. Hoping you get a proper diagnosis and are told or discover ALL treatment options as well as all their risks and benefits.
Avatar n tn 6 (so mildly acidic), with men's generally being slightly more acidic than women's. This acidic layer, sometimes called the acid mantel (created from a mix of sebum and sweat) provides a natural antibacterial barrier over the skin's surface. Due to its acidity the naturally occurring (friendly) bacteria that live on your skin thrive, whereas foreign (unfriendly) bacteria will not, so making it easier for the friendly bacteria to essentially help kill them off.
Avatar m tn That was the intention of my advisor at the men's health clinic. He said one or the other would definitely be positive at 6 months if I had been infected. I will take your advice and pocket them - this HIV anxiety is truly a most difficult and deceptive mental condition. My prayers and wishes for you. Many thanks - last post.
Avatar m tn Doctor, I have written to you before and you have helped alleviate most of my stress, and I was no longer concerned with my health, until an incident that happened over this weekend.. I was making out with a guy i have been seeing recently (I'm 21, He's 18- If the age makes any difference) and we have both decided to not take it any further than mutual masturbation and some oral. So, we got heavily into it, and I began frotting his anus with my penis.
Avatar n tn On what evidence does he base the statement that men clear the infection faster than women? I've always heard that men's immune systems are actually not as good as women's. And how likely is it that I could have caught chlamydia from my ex-boyfriend (assuming he had it) if he caught it 5-6 years before having sex with me? 2. Why might it take some people as long as 3-4 years to clear a chlamydia infection without treatment?
Avatar n tn By the way, even if you decide you aren't heterosexual and may have sex with men too, the exact same advice from the doctor applies, except replace "vaginal" with "anal.
1489999 tn?1337802375 Hi, I don't know much about men's results, but I am sure other women on the list do. There is fertilaid for men, so you should read about it. Take it one day at a time and hopefully things will be okay!
301044 tn?1206814691 At 13 he's certainly old enough to understand the basic facts about hep C. Where it comes from, who's at risk, how it's communicated/spread, how dangerous it is, how it's treated etc. And he certainly has access to the internet so he can look it up and learn all about it. Maybe even in a place like this, and maybe even with the help of his mom and dad?
Avatar n tn One of the topics where I see the most inconsistency relates to the transmission risk of H via intercourse versus transmission via petting or genital to genital contact. Opinions seem to vary widely on this. I am hoping for some Facts instead of opinion if possible. Can you please clarify if and when petting / mutual masturbation is safe or low risk? If this is low risk, is there a brief explanation as to why?
Avatar m tn Assuming this is NCNGU, what is the likelihood I could have passed this onto my wife based on th facts above 2. If a person contracts NCNGU, how soon after exposure are they contagious and able to pass it on to another person? 3. When will it be safe to resume sex with my wife? 7. If symptoms do not resolve what do you suggest?
16335396 tn?1461337296 One day while at dialysis with our daughter, I received a call my husband was rushed to ER, ( same hospital) when I got to him, he was being admitted to emotional health unit for stress. He spent 5 days there. When released we reconciled and continued counseling. I did state in session that if I found out he did cheat physically with any of these women then it was over. things have been well. We have had our moments but mainly due to my lack of trust.
Avatar f tn I'm not jealous, mind you, but it's just the facts. Maybe some hair extensions! Maybe an upper eyelid lift!! I'm dreaming, but it's fun to spectulate! Some day when I get to heaven, I'll have a brand new body and actually, I can hardly wait for that day! No more pain and suffering. No more shots or needles or tests or doctors! Just peace. And lot's of Love. That's what gives me hope.
Avatar n tn Be sure you schedule the appointment with a mental health clinicianwho specializes in the pediatric population. Gender identity confusion is a condition that manifests itself, usually, in older children and teenagers. But it would be worthwhile to investigate the perceptions that go hand-in-hand with the behavior your son is demonstrating.
Avatar n tn In my case it could have been the result of a TURP and resection of the bladderneck. My problems were caused by a neurogenic bladder. Given these facts I do not believe that a vasectomy changed anything for me. I had been coming down with epididymitis and orchitis at the rate of every 3 to 4 months. To try this from occuring I thought that by severing the vas defference infections could not longer end up in the testicles. To this date I have not had any infections of the remaining testicle.
Avatar f tn Dear Auntiejessi, I have some more news, I went to a University hospital and asked an internist for help. After investigation and bloodtest, nothing really came out. The professor first thought of Reiter's syndrome(caused by Chlamydia), but the test showed no infection of Chlamydia. Though, he sticks to his diagnose, because of my eyes problems(infection) and tongue(glossitis). He prescribed me an immuno-suppressiva, because he thinks of an auto-immune reaction of my body.
1301089 tn?1290670171 He broke Obama’s promise to put all bills on the White House web site for five days before signing them. He broke Obama’s promise to have the congressional health care negotiations broadcast live on C-SPAN. He broke Obama’s promise to end earmarks. He broke Obama’s promise to keep unemployment from rising above 8 percent. He broke Obama’s promise to close the detention center at Guantanamo in the first year.

Avatar m tn There may also be clinics in your city that offer the RNA test that you can find by calling your local gay men's health center. I think an RNA test is appropriate, given the level of risk and your anxiety.
Avatar f tn } I think a point Susans thread brought out is who's going to do more good for health care, make changes, etc. Helping health care, making changes is my main concern, whatever the disease may be. X is correct tho, in that it is up to many of us to change, make awareness in hep c. Quick note on the 'war' our soldiers, etc. While HATING seeing our people go fight, get killed, leave home and so on..….
Avatar f tn My response to her latest post on mental withdrawal..... Here are the facts... She did NOT lose her job. She couldn't work because she was detoxing and too sick. She had the opportunity to talk to her step dad about going back to work but opted not to. To this day, she is still on the payroll and the company insurance. Her step dad did NOT tell everyone about her addiction.
Avatar n tn It is hard not to worry, I know, worry is my middle name, but there has to be a stopping point, otherwise, it is going to affect your symptoms and your health in a negative way. Let them do the tests, and let them rule out and rule in anything that they find from them and your clinical examination. It is hard for the physicians on here to determine much more than what symptoms you have, which direction to go in based on symptoms and possible the results of your tests.
Avatar m tn Or, she knows what the problem is and tells you, and then you set plans to address these facts.) Maybe she knows what the problem is and doesn't want to discuss what she knows, or more likely she feels ashamed and guilty but doesn't know what the problem is and feels called out by your hints and remarks, and just wishes the problem would get better by itself. If you want to stay married, you have to help her tell you what it is.
Avatar f tn I'm an atheist but I don't think your reasons are nearly enough to justify an abortion. If the baby wasn't healthy (had a very serious defect) or your health would be jeopardized carrying the baby to term, I would certainly suggest looking into it. In regards to the rape victims, I don't think I would abort, personally. But I would want the option available. Now. When I got pregnant with my first I was an 18 year old waitress about to start college.
Avatar n tn Booo! Have a seat.... alternative facts.... fake news.... clitoris isn't necessary for urination. Neither is a penis but boooo!
Avatar f tn Doesn't anyone think mental health plays a part in who should take care of a child? It seems like half the time I read about a suicidal parent killing themselves they think the child would be happier dead too. Also is their anychance that the father has that fear in the back of his head too? Or that he is worried about his wife trying to kill herself too. I agree that the situation is whacked but ... What did the hospital say when you were released after your suicide attempt?
408795 tn?1324939275 To adequately get to the bare bones facts about this virus we have to look at some variables. First question is who is contracting this virus? In comparison to the HIV virus which was proven to be a gay "male" disease. This virus has more people who are stretched across a wider spectrum or divide, you have one category which is predominately IV drug users, then you have a class on the complete opposite side of the spectrum like "non risks" individuals.
