Men's health and stds

Common Questions and Answers about Men's health and stds

Avatar n tn Lack of aeration and irritation because of smegma and discharge surrounding the glans penis causes inflammation and edema. More common in uncircumcised males. It is usually caused by poor hygiene in uncircumcised men. The inflammation can be due to infection, harsh soaps, or failure to properly rinse soap off while bathing. One common organism associated with balanitis is yeast known as Candida albicans.
Avatar n tn If a man does not experience the classical symptoms of these STDs, and did not get tested, is there a way to tell if he might be infected? Do these always progress to have complications which will then cause symptoms later, or do they tend to clear on their own with no real consequences? (For men, I understand that complications for women can be dangerous). Thank you for your time.
Avatar m tn I have been prescribed thrush cream for my anus (no good) anusol both cream and uppositories for my anus (no good) and now daktacort for my penis (which seems to be making the skin on my penis a marginal bit better). As I said i have no stds and am very active and very healthy, I have ADHD and take Ritalin. Any help is welcomed greatly I know this may be in the wrong section, I am new to this. if anyone cant help or point me in the right direction for help, I would really appreciate that.
Avatar f tn and 2- what are chances of catching other stds? I accidentally posted this in men's health earlier. Thank you in advance.
Avatar n tn After he finished several courses of medication (his symptoms--especially the vague urethral tingling/itching--were persistent), and his symptoms finally resolved, we resumed intercourse. I'm a regular blood donor, and have always been classified CMV negative. Until last time! So, I'm curious. How likely is it that I acquired my new CMV positive status sexually from my partner? Can CMV cause NSU/NGU?
Avatar m tn Since you know it's not a herpes issue, you should probably be posting it on a dermatology forum or even a men's health forum instead. Good luck and I hope you find out what is really going on.
Avatar m tn You correctly understand the risks are nil, based both on the low chance your partner had HIV or other active STDs (people rarely lie when asked directly) and the nature of the exposure. What you're asking is my judgment of whether or not your "concern" (anxiety is what I would call it) is influenced more by your conflicts about your sexuality, and by this particular sexual choice, than by the actual HIV risks involved. Your judgment of that is much better than mine.
Avatar n tn From my own searching, i've seen many other men with symptoms of a 'feeling/tingling in the penis' and/or 'frequent urination' who test negative for stds, diabetes, and UTI's..A lot of them find these symptoms after oral sex, or vaginal sex. Could this be cystitis?
Avatar f tn my boyfriend has reaccuring pimple like spots on his penis and shaft they arnt painful or itchy they keep on poping up every couple of months. Hes been tested many times for stds and hes clear of everything. What could it possible be? Could he be allergic to me?
Avatar f tn I don't know if its warts, but you and your bf both need to have this checked out. You both also need to be screened for stds, and you for a urinary tract infection. I can't tell you what you have, but a doctor can. He can post in urology or men's health for more info on premature ejaculation. We don't deal with that in the STD forum.
Avatar m tn If you have tested negative for STD's then a STD is not your issue...not sure about hernia. Try posting in Men's Health or even uriology and explain your issue, they might have a better idea.
Avatar m tn And oral sex is basically safe sex -- completely safe with respect to HIV and although not zero risk for other STDs, the chance of infection is far lower than for unprotected vaginal or anal sex. Please educate yourself about the real risks. If you stick with oral sex and condom-protected vaginal or anal sex, you have no HIV worries and very little worry about other STDs.
8184612 tn?1397529944 Blood Test was done 3/5 for the other STDs like HIV. Tested for all STDs (both blood and urine) and testosterone level. I was feeling lethargic and my girlfriend wants a child. I was getting a checkup and wanted to make sure I was healthy and clean for unprotected sex with her (FYI: she has been tested clean). Medication (Azithromycin) was taken in one dose on 3/14. I get urine tested again tomorrow.
Avatar m tn This forum deals with STDS and obviously it is impossible that you have one. Try the Men's Health Forum, or see your doctor if you are concerned.
Avatar n tn *Find a free STD clinic in your zip code and get both you and your partner tested. Call the health department and they can give you information. *Consider the fact that you may be allergic to latex condoms. Swith to animal skin or non-latex condoms. Keep in mind that animal skin condoms are more porous than latex and can transmit certain stds. In conclusion, sex is not a bad thing, it's enjoyable, makes us feel good and the close contact makes us feel 'human'.
Avatar n tn H about this, since I'm fumbling around with layman's information. I'm guessing that you're straight, but on topics of HIV and oral sex, gay male health services are way ahead with this kind of information. So you could benefit a lot from going to things like HIVInSite, which is based in San Fran and has a website, as well as Ask Dr. K, a web service on gay.com.
Avatar n tn You posted this yesterday, and I suggested the gastro, men's health or urology forum. This isn't the correct forum for this, as it has nothing to do with stds. I also wouldn't have a clue what to advise.
Avatar n tn This is a STD specific forum, a STD is not your issue. Try posting in men's health or dermatology.
Avatar m tn This is somewhat controversial, and trich is starting to get more attention. But still, it causes few or none of the complications or serious health problems of other STDs like gonorrhea, chlamydia, syphilis, herpes, or HIV.
Avatar m tn I wake up and check and i dont have any sign of precum but when then i urinate, like an hour later i check and there it is. I went to get tested for all stds twice and they all came back negative. But before the precum problem, i started to have pain on my left testicle and sometimes on my right one as well. So i went to the urologist to see wat was wrong he did a urinalysis and there was nothing there. But the ultrasound determined that i have a varicocele on my left side.
Avatar m tn I went to the doctor 6 months ago, questioning him about if i had an std after receiving oral sex. He sed no and the only stds cathcable from oral sex are herpes. Everytime after i masterbate i will occasionally get red dots on the head of my penis, which are really small and microscopic. recently i had oral sex with my partner, and soon after i had these little red dots on the head of my penis. It does not hurt when urinating nor do i have painful ejaculation and am very confused what this is.
Avatar n tn I don't know what to do at this point. I now have no health insurance and can't afford to see a doctor, especially for them to say i don't know what is worng with you. Does anyone have any idea what this could be??
Avatar m tn This is a little uncomfortable for me, since I'm a female reading Men's Health. I'm a little bit worried about my most recent partner. He's 27. I've asked him numerous times if he's had any sort of STDs or problems, and he's said no. I'm curious though. I don't believe it's normal for a male's scrotum to be red and droopy. Nor do I think it's normal to have an uncomfortable feeling when you pee after getting off.
Avatar m tn Since its not an std, you should post in men's health or in the urology forums here for some better information.
Avatar n tn This was never the case previously and I can't think of any factors that have changed that would cause it. I'm 18 and still a virgin, so that rules out any possibility of STDs. I'm starting to fear permanent nerve damage which is stressing me out a lot, since the imminent opportunities to lose my virginity, combined with a complete lack of ability to *** would be extremely annoying for a teenage guy (as you can imagine). Am I just overreacting?
Avatar n tn for some weeks ive been experiencing temps in the 99's, tierdness, and muscle twitches. also heart palpitations at times. i was tested at 5,6,7, and 9.5 weeks. all negative. here are my questions. 1. are my test results definitive? 2. do i need further testing? 3. are the symptoms i mentioned something to worry about? 4. can i move on and forget all this? thanks.
Avatar n tn i only transfered 1 five day blast and im 11weeks preggo! i had some mild cramps about 4 day after the transfer and i started doing hpt at 5 dp transfer. it was + and got darker every day! how many days past transfer are you and are you going to test with htp? i could not stand it. a girl that i met at my clinic and she did the same as me on the same days as me did not test + till 2 days before beta. let me know.
Avatar m tn i even had a ureteroscopy and nothing is there and now the burning while i urinate increased and sometimes there is a pain in my penis and itchy feeling!
Avatar n tn Good luck-- HHH, MD
Avatar m tn Its about my health and your health. I just want you to know that I have been tested for all major STDs, and here are my results. (show them to her if you would like to see results yourself). Thank God I have nothing and would like to stay that way." When they hears this they think about it. Right. (I know because someone told me this) You can say, "I don't do anything with any anybody unless I know they are clean.
