Common Questions and Answers about Men's health and illness

Avatar n tn My Dad a fall and was diagnose with stroke. Right hand and body cannot move..Face was out of shape.
Avatar m tn I had blood taken last week, and the symptoms are from my Hepatitis. I have an appointment with my doctor this Friday, and I'm scared. I worked at the Men's detox years ago, and have seen the effects of this disease first hand. I have a really lousy diet and have been compulsive about red meat and Pepsi. I am going to do my bets to get better. Any thoughts on nutrition and holistic treatments I might try. I am on Medi-Care, so I doubt they will fund interferon.
Avatar m tn Since you know it's not a herpes issue, you should probably be posting it on a dermatology forum or even a men's health forum instead. Good luck and I hope you find out what is really going on.
Avatar m tn Most men's penis size will be the size of a "cashew" when it is not aroused to ejaculate. You are worrying unduly about the size of your penis. Because of your worrying about the size of your penis, I am thinking whether this has something to do with you not being able to hold a normal erection. Psychological worries can have an impact on your performance. Erectile dysfunction can happen to anyone. There are many reasons for erectile dysfunction.
Avatar f tn • RMA soothing Ointment by Vibrant Health: for spot treatment of warts and wounds. I also combined this with the contents of the 400mg EGCg Green Tea Extract pills to make a RMA/EGCg ointment that I covered with a band-aid for overnight treatments when a spot was looking bad and needed some healing • Brave Soldier Antiseptic Healing Ointment: for spot treatment and healing help. I used to use Neosporin for the same thing.
Avatar n tn I am sorry for your Dx. I am a female but also now hypo.Since the beginning of my illness everything I read regarding the disease, when I stumbled across the stats of men getting it, I read through it. Dx is rare. specially on sub clinical Hypo or Hyper thyroidism in men. I believe this b/c men are less likely to see a doctor when they have symptoms. and if they do go and get Dx'd - most do not have the patience and stay on top of it.
Avatar n tn If you're taking this pill just to loose weight, and not for a health reason, you should stop taking it, and see that if you keep eating healthy, and walking, you'll still loose! And BTW, taking this pill 10 mins before a meal to help with your appetite is crazy! All diet pills tell you to take it 30min.s before each meal.. b/c it takes 30 min.s to start working...10 min.s? that pill isn't doing anything for you when you're eating!
Avatar n tn I was prescribed Topamax along with an appetite suppressant (Adipex) for weight loss a bit over a year ago and stopped taking them after two and a half months. I did not lose all of the weight I had wanted to, but most of it. I had gained 55 pounds while on Paxil over the course of two and a half years. By taking a combination of the two medicines, I lost 22 pounds the first month, 10 pounds the second month, and 8 pounds the first half of the third month.
Avatar m tn I think this would be a very good time to schedule a complete work up to find out exactly why your so fatigued and experiencing brain fog. Set up an appointment and get to the bottom of your health issues.
Avatar n tn I took Geritol for about 3 weeks as well as my husband, then i thought i was pregnant and switched over to prenatal pills, and sure enough i was! Im currently 7 weeks pregnant. Good luck to you!! My pregnancy isnt going so well though(not geritol related) but hopefully yours will be better!!
Avatar f tn You can sue him for Alimony, and Child Support, and all the debts incurred in getting you mental health counseling. Get a job that will help you to save up money to make a move, if this becomes your choice. Then get your own place. As for your daughter. She is not guilty of your husband's behavior. She did not cause it and she doesn't deserve to have to pay that price, just because she is his baby. She is every bit your daughter too, and she needs her Mama more than you can imagine.
Avatar n tn Hi all. New to this. I am a 44 year old woman who is physically fit (gym 5 days a week) and eats pretty well. Approx 5 weeks ago I developed veins showing on both hands. They have not gone away and infact they are bulging most times, and I can "feel them". They have increased and I can see some starting to climb up my forearm now. Before this, my veins barely ever showed.
Avatar n tn WOW! 22 pounds is a lot of weight to loose in such a short period of time! Good for you!!! I hope that I am able to loose 22 pounds in the next couple of months. Are you following a diet plan and working out? I have not started working out yet....maybe one day...I don't have a diet plan either I am just trying to make good choices and watch my portions. This way I know that when I stop the shots and medicine I won't gain it all back. Lets hope!!! Best of Luck to you...
Avatar n tn I think everything is over and I clean up. I walk out of the toilet and in about 2 minutes time the stomach cramp and the fainting sensation comes back (I've fainted only once to date from this and was out for about 15-20 minutes). 6. When I get back to the toilet I have a really violent Diarrhoea episode in pure liquid state.
967168 tn?1477588089 while researching I found some info on the CHF patients' website that's disturbing and makes me question echo guidelines and standards; even my dr's are stumped when I ask them what are the echo parameter standards? "Even though the labs routinely used the terms "mild," "moderate," and "severe", they admitted that they had no standard guidelines as to what exactly these words meant. This means that interpreting echo results is partly subjective.
Avatar n tn This is really illuminating to find so many others suffering almost identical symptoms. I am a 58 year old male pretty fit and in generally good health. My problem is the intense tearing pain I get in my right knee when I bend at a certain angle and at a certain time. I can't define either because it's so uncertain. I can do situps now with no problem. We all seem to refer to this pain as a tearing pain as it feels like a wound that has been stiched together is tearing apart.
525545 tn?1293184794 I am still digesting tonight's words of frustration and anger from both of us. All because of me and Fibro/cfsc. Mike was put on Fetenal in August to control the pain that he has in his knees. He has no cartilage in either knee and yes in extreme pain. He works for UCSD University as a Landscaper so he is on his feet all day. Well back to the Fentenal: He is allergic to it and the side effects were horrible that he went through. I thought I was going to lose him.So our Dr.
Avatar n tn I realize this is not the HIV forum, but nevertheless I freaked out and went for a test last week Wednesday at a local health clinic. The test, which was administered orally, came back negative, yet I am still very worried. Could this be Herpes, HIV, or some other illness? What sort of tests should I seek, and what can I do to help relieve my horrible symptoms. Any help you can provide will me most appreciated.
Avatar n tn The question of weight per se would probably only affect it if someone was so terrifically overweight that there were other health issues, and/or the thighs or something were cradling the sperm factory too much and heating it up. (Just a guess on that last one!) But "slightly overweight" shouldn't do anything negative to sperm. Good luck!
Avatar n tn I've led an extremely physically active lifestyle and have enjoyed otherwise very good health. My symptoms have occurred over the better part of a decade, beginning in 1990 as tingling/itching in the lower portion of my hands. I was in the mideast deployed with the Air Force during Desert Shield/Storm. I did experience a 5-day illness of extreme dysentery(sp)and fever. A possible trigger? Who knows.
579258 tn?1250652943 you have implemented and found successful AND to come back and read through this post to learn some more to put in your arsenal. We'll be providing you with some more in an article post and then be placing all of them in Health Pages for future reference. The second part of your challenge, is to pick or find a new "tip" that you are currently not using and USE it for the next week!
Avatar n tn I was just surfing the net looking up "swollen glands in armpit" and I came across your posting. I recently woke up (about a few weeks ago) with a real pain under my armpit. It was a "zit" or "ingrown hair" - I couldn't really tell. About an inch away was a lump - a mobile, somewhat soft swollen gland. I went to the doctor who told me not to worry about it and that it was probably simply a reaction to the zit or ingrown hair in that region.
Avatar m tn This period varies from man to man, depending on age, physical health and other factors. It’s a biological process, and has nothing to do with how often you self-pleasure, etc. Let’s talk about what we DO know about self-pleasuring. It’s the surest way to orgasm and the most effective way to learn about our sexual response cycle, as well as the surest way men to learn orgasmic control.
3060903 tn?1398568723 tory at-a-glance + By Dr. Mercola Prostate cancer is one of the most common cancers in men. According to the latest statistics, about 181,000 men get diagnosed with prostate cancer every year in the U.S. However, while common, it has a survival rate of about 86 percent. Of those diagnosed, about 26,000 die from the disease each year.1 Unfortunately, conventional diagnostics and treatment options for prostate cancer leave much to be desired.
967168 tn?1477588089 Getting things ready for my dr's appt I noticed some discrepancies with my Echo, MRI & CT's; so I started researching and asking questions (I probably ask too many questions)...I posted this in my journal so I would have it handy and wanted to post here for any who may have other info or know how reliable this is. I found some info on the CHF patients' website (
Avatar f tn They had a last cup of coffee and everything was fine. They said goodbye to their parents and brother and all was serene. They waved — and that was that." Under a 2002 law, Belgians are allowed to end their own lives if a doctor judges an individual has made his or her wishes clear and is suffering unbearable pain. The case of the twins was unusual because the two men were not approaching the end of their natural lives nor were they terminally ill.
Avatar m tn I am beyond sure she was monogamous as well, but have always done a yearly men's health checkup which includes a 4th gen HIV 1/2 Elisa test. My last neg test was last month, and I never engaged in any relationship or fling until last week. Last week, I met up with a transexual sex worker. we proceeded to talk a little and I expressed my concerns for HIV and STDs, she offered 2 condoms from her purse, one that she put on herself and the other she put on me.
Avatar m tn I've been told my story sounds similar to herpes except after the initial illness it's different. I really want to isolate the pathogen and if nothing else help and support people in my position. I keep praying that one day anti virals will solve this problem.
Avatar f tn you take gel caps the ones you can open. you can get empty ones at the health food store or you can go buy so cheap vitamins and empty and refill. they come in different sizes but let us say the normal standard size. not to tiny and not to large. then you carefully fill them with boric acid. you can fill them all the way or half way. the reason is that half way you would insert vaginally all the way in as far as you can up 2x a day or once a day for the reallly filled capsules.
