Menopause periods close together

Common Questions and Answers about Menopause periods close together

Avatar f tn My periods have been stable the last few months but I usually have either normal or too close together periods. Maybe the meds will help but I think I have thyroid probs more on the hyperside but because I'll have an abnormal test but then a normal test, the abnormals are being considered flukes. Any ideas/suggestions. I'm so tired of chasing my tail.
Avatar f tn I am currently going through menopause and I also had an my question is why am I having my periods close together? thank you.
Avatar n tn It is not uncommon for women to experience irregular periods in your age group. Most likely you are perimenopausal which mean that you are very close to hitting menopause. Menopause is when your ovaries stop producing eggs and you also eventually stop your periods. Your hormone levels will also change dramatically. Some other symptoms of menopause are hot flashes, insomnia, moodiness, and mental slowing.
Avatar n tn Hi, Just want to add my story to this subject. I had my Daughter in 2001 & had an IUD fitted shortly after which caused numerous infections and so I had it removed 6 months later, my Gyno in Greece recommended the Mirena and I had it fitted in 2002. I had all the nightmare symptoms in the beginning, painful breasts, abdominal pains, headaches, mood swings, weight gain, loss of libido etc, but I stuck with it and eventually it all calmed down, although my libido has never returned.
Avatar n tn I am 48 so may have been menopausal already, although I was having regular periods. My post-op visit is scheduled for July 6. Is it usual to begin hormone treatments after that visit? Thanks for any advice.
Avatar n tn I had regular periods (but every 3 weeks for the last 7 years or so) and no symptoms of menopause up until I started tx. I had no periods while on tx and assumed I had completed menopause, esp since I had many of the symptoms such as night sweats and hot flashes. My ob/gyn asked if I wanted pills to take care of them but I declined. Then, 2 months after tx ended my periods returned, regular as clockwork every 4 weeks. Go figure.
1410068 tn?1282732767 I mean if I hadn't had any symptoms in the past 9 years why would I now. So I don't buy the menopause thing. I am really close to getting an appt with a different neurologist at the Neuro-Science Institute in Oklahoma City, with a Dr. Parado. He not only specializes in MS they are a research facility as well and research MS also. I should hear something on it today or Monday.
485043 tn?1224174187 They came close together or would skip for 3-4 months at a time, had chunky periods with clots, hot flashes (still have those) and emotions all over the place. The clots may have been from the fibroid (that I didn't know I had until last Nov.). As for the CA 125 test, for women who are still cycling it's not very accurate. Sorry to burst your bubble. The number can be high for other reasons besides cancer. Or it can be low and a person could still have cancer.
Avatar n tn I do not always have periods this close together, just occasionally. I have an ultrasound and gyn appointment, but it isn't until May 1 and I am worried. Thank you for any help you can offer.
Avatar f tn I get sick stomachs too, but like you thought it was something I ate. I did have heavy clotting when I did the two close together. I was one of those people where every 28 days on the dot I had the period start. My doctor told me to let her know if I had two in one moth because she said it wasnt normal and she would look into it. I also have a strong smell when I pee.
Avatar f tn Regardless if you think my experience was proof or anecdotal evidence, having irregular period before the normal menopause age is a sign of trouble. Mirena stopped my period all together for two years, so I couldn't monitor my body until the symptoms became too obvious.
Avatar n tn My GP has been NO HELP! She seems obsessed with the menopause. I'm 51 and having erratic periods which are someties very heavy. I'm vegetarian and anaemic - although this is improving as I'm trying to eat lots of spinach and dark green veg. I've just strted taking iron tablets. Today has been a bad day as I've had the tingling in my head and have been very emotional. Think I'm just fed up with feeling "not right"!
Avatar n tn But I was put on lupron shots and it stopped my periods all together but then i felt like I was going through menopause. When I went back for a followup, my dr took me off the shots...i went right back into have 3 or more peiods in a month. i am so tired all the time and this is not fair to my daughter when all i feel like doing after work is laying down.....I anyone has any information please let me kow. Thank You!

Avatar m tn You don't need to worry about periods that are too far apart, but if they start coming really close together, ( less than 21 days) you should notify your doctor. Good luck!
Avatar n tn Has anyone ever heard of this happening? Do I have reason to be concerned? I have been getting my periods closer together and have had heavy flow with cramping and fatigue and sometimes headaches. A few night sweats. My doctor told me some women start menopause early and it begins with periods getting closer and sometimes more symptoms with them, like mine. I'm 37!! Is this possible or do I need to have more testing? Any help would be great! Thank You!!
Avatar n tn Since childbirth, my periods have been coming too close together (about 2 weeks apart). Is this normal? I've started on my birth control pills a little over a month ago. Could that be the cause? I'm a little worried because I had a very difficult labor and just want to make sure everything is ok. I am only 21 so it cannot be the start of menopause or anything like that.
Avatar n tn Skipping periods, prolonged periods, spotting, periods closer together, heavier, lighter....everything is possible during this stage of life. Be thankful that you're having this rest from periods right now! :) You'll likely still have another one. I've gone 3 months, then 6 and even almost a full year and gone back to them again. Now, I'm constantly spotting and have gone through testings for it. I'm waiting for the results from a Sonohysterogram and have been through a uterine biopsy.
1303966 tn?1296743610 I'm not in pain, with the exception of a sharp pain here and there. I have periods too close together, not something I'm loving. Doctor wanted to give me shot, but good thing I refused these. I have complicated migraine and complex seizures. This shot would not have been a good choice for me. I had a biopsy of my uterus and was fine. I have enlarged uterus and abnormal, irregular periods. What can I do besides get a hysterectomy?
Avatar f tn So how can you tell the difference between peri menopause and MS? I have been complaining about dry and painful vagina for couple of years. OB/GYN gave me a short prescription and ran blood tests. All came back with normal hormones so she refused to refill the scrip and told me not PM but probably just aging and now i am putting pieces together. About 2 years ago I lost about 1/3 to 1/2 the hair on my head in about a month. Just coming out everywhere.
Avatar n tn Mostly periods are regular, but are extremely heavy and I have had some irregular periods as well, meaning close together. But they are definitely "periods", at least they seem that way. I had hot flashes for a few months about 2 years ago, and have never had any again. One year ago my FSH indicated I was not menopapusal. Now FSH is 34 and I was told the other day that my uterine lining is 9mm, so my gyn did endemetrial biopsy.

570004 tn?1226983796 I was just tested with HYPERThyroidism in July. It's not official whether it's long term or not. But my periods are also getting close together AND I am having MAJOR acne issues. I'm 35.
1012407 tn?1251042133 When I was 25 I had 2 miscarriages very close together. I got pregnant when I was 40. I had been on the pill for quite a while on and off. I would keep forgetting to take it or not bothering because I was leaving it up to fate if I got pregnant or not. I have an Auntie who has suffered with facial hair for years and she struggled to get pregnant. Also another Auntie who miscarried 6 times.
Avatar f tn My last 3 periods were close together, followed by a really big menstrual cycle. It feels as if menopause has been speeded up! Im doing much better now, though.
Avatar n tn I agree that it is too sudden to go into menopause, but I have had irregular periods on and off for the past two years with cysts mostly likely, although they weren't diagnosed until June. I had a lot of pain and other symptoms with the one that ruptured and am now fairly sure I had another the year before.
Avatar f tn Assuming that you will get eventually diagnosed with fibrosis, I would like to share with you a real life story of my friend who started with the same symptoms as you have. Every gyn she saw insisted on hysterectomy and she did not want it. Then she found one who convinced her that - as she close to menopause age - it will "shrink by itself naturally" and put her on some supplements.
Avatar f tn I was on provera for the past three months for cycles that were coming very close together - 18 - 21 days, but when it came at 13 days, my gyn put me on the provera. I'm just turning 49 years old, and have had the close cycles for about 2 years - sometimes heavy with clots and other times lighter.I never spotted like this before. I also had an endometrial biopsy 2 years ago, because of the heavy bleeding - the results were normal.
377493 tn?1356505749 Everyone is different, so I am not sure if this is helpful, but I went through menopause at 38 and my periods did the opposite. They got closer together and longer. They would come about every 2 weeks for about 8 to 10 days. I bled pretty much all the time (it seemed) for those last 6 months. Then, one day it just never showed up anymore. Maybe other who have gone thru menopause have had different experiences, but my other friends who have gone thru menopause were more like me....
