Avatar n tn I am post menopausal and experiancing tender breast and clear vaginal discharge
Avatar m tn An ultrasound via vaginal route or a uteroscope inserted via vaginal route to look at the condition of the cervix, uterus etc, a PAP smear, a vaginal swab test, a culture of the vaginal discharge, a complete STD panel are probably what are required. It could also be an allergic reaction to soaps, cosmetics, douches, razor etc that you use. Hence eliminate them one by one and see if it helps. It is difficult to comment beyond this at this stage. Do consult your doctor/ gynecologist.
Avatar f tn I have noticed a bad odor lately.. Could this be caused by vaginal dryness? I am 57 & obviously post menopausal. What could be the cause and how can I treat it?
Avatar n tn thick, very sticky, yellowish, sweetish-smelling discharge. I am 51 and menopausal.....am also trying to find an answer...last GYN appt. normal??? All else seems normal....is this normal??
Avatar f tn Post-menopausal bleeding is more common than most people realize especially in the first 5 years or so after menopause. Thankfully, it is oftentimes nothing more than some sporadic ovarian activity. After all, the ovaries don't completely shut down. They continue producing hormones well into a woman's 70's. Vaginal atrophy and an irritated urethra (from the loss of estrogen) are other causes of (light) bleeding or spotting.
Avatar f tn It could also be due to infection in the uterus, cervivitis, vaginal infection. An ultrasound via vaginal route or a uteroscope inserted via vaginal route to look at the condition of the cervix, uterus etc, a PAP smear, a vaginal swab test, a culture of the vaginal discharge, a complete STD panel are probably what are required. It could also be an allergic reaction to soaps, cosmetics, douches, erasers etc that you use. Hence eliminate them one by one and see if it helps.
Avatar n tn For about a week or so, I have had a horrible itching sensation inside of my vagina. It's to the point that if I don't itch it I'm in tears it's so irritated, however, it is very sensitive from being scratched. I can't seem to find any help online, most answers are for external like of a vulva/skin parts...mine is only internal, nothing else itches. I have no discharge, no odor. I'm 27, so not post-menopausal....hopefully you have an answer...
1296669 tn?1272571944 At times the sores are not visible and the only thing that remains abnormal is a watery discharge. It can also be atrophic vaginitis which is common in post menopausal women and in your case heralds a hormonal imbalance. It could also be chlamydial infection or even gonorrhea. Hence it is important to get a complete STD and a complete hormonal panel (estrogen, progesterone, FSH, LH, prolactin, thyroid) done.
Avatar n tn Infection could be one, vaginal or uterine. With all of the testing that you've been through, I'd rather doubt that it's cancer but, I'm not a doctor of course. Any itching, burning or other symptoms that come along with the discharge? Are you using any vaginal lubricants for atrophic vaginal tissues? Perhaps, a second opinion might be warranted here? If one doc doesn't know...

Avatar f tn I am 51, postmenopausal, my official age of menopause is 47, my symptons have been repeated UTI which have been treated with antibiotics, I have also been on Vagifem which I must admit I have been very lax at taking and have only used one box, I did use the last one a couple of days before my symptons appeared, my symptons are, blood stained discharge for a day or two, pelvic pain, low back ache, lightheadeness and slightly bloated, I went to see my GP who has put me on a two week referral and m
752468 tn?1237560359 m 62 and post menopausal. I have had vaginal discharge with blood more puss like at the beginning, and my white blood cell count was high when my Dr. did a vaginal swab. To make a long story short. I had a uterine biopsy and they found suspicious cells. I'm still bleeding and have a hysterectomy scheduled march 9. I have had breast tenderness also that no one seems to acknowledge. I too am very anxious about the outcome.

Also, it is important to rule out pregnancy.
Avatar f tn it is really nice to come across this website. I have had problems with vaginal gas only over the last several years, since I became post menopausal. I believe my mother has had similar problems and she is in her 70's. I spoke to my ob gyn about it a couple of years ago. I trust her completely for many reasons. She suggested that I douche with 1/2 hydrogen peroxide and 1/2 water. This actually helps me and it reduces the gas for several weeks typically.
Avatar n tn vaginal strep A, nausea, discharge and spotting post menopausal, thickening of the uterus, bloating with lower left side pain under rib cage. Any thoughts?
Avatar f tn Very tired, cramping like period coming, lower back pain, headaches. Any clue what is going on with body. Had some vaginal clear discharge the week I was do for period.
Avatar n tn Hi, Nipple discharge in post menopausal women needs to be investigated. Consult a Doctor for a breast examination. The colour, odour and presence of associated factors like a breast lump or blood in the discharge should be noted. Also the discharge needs to be tested for infection or presence of malignant cells. Take care and good luck.
548780 tn?1233769602 I'm menopausal now but never experienced multiple infections during peri-menopause. And I'm exposed to all kinds of nasty germs and parasites at my job. Do you mean a vaginal infection or just general infections in the body like throat or from a cut? I've read about eating yogurt to keep the gut flora healthy. Some articles say it helps with vaginal ph and health too. Not sure how that works. Taking antibiotics throws your body out of whack anyway.
1415174 tn?1453243103 To be frank when I wipe (don't know if it is a discharge) the vaginal area, it sometimes is dark brown gooey and smells like feces or something like that. I don't have pain, itching or any other symptoms. I do have fibroids and am peri-menopausal. I am married and in a monogomous relationship for sure. I am also on birth control and actually due to a back injury haven't had sex in a long time. Any ideas what this could be. I know it is not HPV or an STD.
Avatar f tn If the vaginal soreness continues, you can try over-the-counter Replens. It is a vaginal moisturizer that only needs to be applied every few days or so.
Avatar f tn There is no pain or any other systems. Seems strange after all these years for this to occur. Is this a pre-menopausal system?
Avatar f tn If you are being seen repeatedly and they are properly testing your vaginal discharge and finding nothing, there are some other things this can be. One issue is atrophic vaginitis. If you are young, they often don't even think about this because it's most common in post menopausal women but it can happen in younger gals, especially if you are on the bc pill. Have your providers tried anything as simple as topical estrogen cream a few times a week for a few months?
1415174 tn?1453243103 Your symptoms of vaginal dryness and sex hurting initially may point to vaginal atrophy as the cause. There is a long-lasting (I believe 3 days) vaginal moisturizer called Replens that may help but I have heard it is expensive. Some other options that women have found helpful if they cannot use vaginal estrogen are vitamin E capsules or coconut oil (inserted vaginally). I hope you find something to address this!
Avatar f tn I am 48 years old (married) going through menopause (for about 1 year now) For nearly 2 months I have been suffering from external vagina itchiness in the direction of the anus as well, its only when I wash I find I need to really scrub the area so will be the itch, after washing I am ok, do not itch during the day, only if I wee and do not wipe dry dry, have never ever had any diseases of any nature eg STDs I have no discharge or anything like that.
Avatar f tn Any attempts at intimacy resulted in horrific pain and discharge. The dr at Gyn said it was just menopausal stuff. As relationship ended, so did the associated problems, but the latest discharge made me think possible infection. I've just been to the doctor, who doesn't think so as infection would produce an ongoing discharge. My pain is right across my tummy and not one sided, so perhaps not the cyst. The doctor thinks tummy pain is IBS. Doesn't everyone?
