men sex drive antidepressants

I've heard a lot lately about everyone having problems with there sex drive because of the use of a lot of different anti-depressants with the only constant exception that I hear being wellbutrin. I was just wondering if any one else has found another anti-depressant that didn't kill there sex drive.

I hate to be the bearer of bad news (my experiences only here) the entire time I was on antidepressants (any kind) my sex drive was very low and sometimes non existent. I have been off antidepressants for about 6 months now and it is just now coming back. I do think however I do need to be on them at this point which I will discuss w/my dr. but its a decision you have to make for yourself. I chose to take the meds and deal with the sex issues on an as needed basis for my hubby...

Hi Jill. All of the questions you ask could be answered very simply by sitting down with your husband and having an open, non-judgmental conversation about your future together. It's possible that he is acquiesing to having children because of your desire to do so. Perhaps he's conflicted about this issue. And pressuring him to have penis-vagina sex when you're ovulating may be a real turn-off for him. Anyway, it's no good guessing, you need to talk about it.

I've been on Zoloft for the past 6 months and my sexual drive has gone! Not only my libido; but it is very rare I have an orgasm anymore. Is anybody out there suffering the same side effects? If so, have you considered swithching meds?

I know that a side effect for many antidepressants is decrease in sex drive. My husband takes Zoloft, and I take Celexa. My husbands sex drive is gone. He is in the mood maybe once or twice a month. I know that he can't help it, but I feel neglected. I tell him that I need some contact at least once a week, but this is a stab straight to his manhood. Hi Bella, We are what we eat, if your one of these girls who love sweet things, fast foods or junk foods, these have to much salt and sugars, these will surpress your sex drive, it kicks out of wack for both men and women our testosterones, hence lower sex drive, now the thing is, is this you? The problem is, I have heard that antidepressants take away your sex drive or at least reduce it considerably... that is NOT going to work for me, uh-uh, no sir. But then, the Catch 22 of this whole situation is that fumbling through life lacking energy and vitality, like I am now, is clearly not going to result in me "scoring" many sexual encounters with women anyway.

We talked and he told me his desire for sex is about 3-5 times a day. He has a very high sex drive that he even expresses it at night without realizing it.
