1415174 tn?1453243103 More women than men tend to get urinary tract infections especially in menopause. Men and women get more infections when they get older or hospitalized. You can just say yes ( you get a urinary tract infection) 2. no, rare 3. frequently. Are you male or female? Are you in menopause (if female)?

Avatar n tn Perimenopause (the transition to menopause occurring up to 10 years prior to menopause itself) usually begins in the 40s. One of the symptoms of perimenopause is vaginal dryness. Also, lack of foreplay can be a factor. No matter what the cause, vaginal dryness can be extremely uncomfortable. It can lead to itching, burning, and painful intercourse that includes bleeding.
3046028 tn?1340538562 To add, 75% who suffer a heart attack have normal cholesterol levels. "If estrogen has a prominent anti-inflammatory effect, this action may help to explain why women have a much lower risk of atherosclerosis (which begins as an inflammation of the blood vessel walls) than men until menopause," said Paresh Dandona, M.D., UB professor of medicine and head of the Division of Endocrinology in the UB School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences, who is senior author on the study.
1415174 tn?1453243103 Lately I have been itchy after sex and had some discharge with no smell after sex and a little spotting. It is gone the next day. The itching remains for a few days and then is gone. I can use estrogen or birth control anymore due to blood clots. Has anyone had any spotting after sex? I don't have Bacterial vaginosis or STD's. I do have fibroids and do get regular PAP's and pelvic exams. I did have a polyp a few years ago that was benign. But never any spotting.
527657 tn?1214051850 Hey, I accidentally got switched here after responding to your Paxil weight gain post. I'm the guy trying to talk you into exercising. I managed health food stores for many years, and heard this a lot. My wife also suffers from this. First, if your husband is willing to have sex with you, it will help. Why would he think you're cheating? Sex helps keep the juices flowing, and therefore helps keep fluids from becoming backed up. So does exercise.
Avatar m tn I'm not on any hormones or any medication at all. Had my last period Feb 2012 and no bleeds since then apart from after sex. Had first sex after menopause Nov 2012 and it's been going on since then. Not much blood but I also feel sore afterwards. I'm going to try Replense to see if that helps.
Avatar n tn and see if those symptoms seem to fit. Peri-menopause is the interval -- sometimes 10 years or more -- before menopause when our hormones are really nuts! To the extent that you see room for improvement in your diabetes control, that will only help you! It's tough to manage this disease and yet when we find ways to improve what we can, the benefits are great (both short term & long term).
Avatar f tn t no what was happing. And when I had sex with my husband I felt dirty, I cried but he could never see the tears. After sex I would curl up in a ball like a child and shake. Then I would lock myself in a room and cry. I went through this until I was placed on hormon medicatin, but in the mean time my husband had an affair. Being on the medication I was able to get my sex driveback and very little depression. I heard that a lot of men leave beause of this, is this true.
Avatar m tn They believe that the age gap between us may cause a family wreckage in the future as we age near the menopause period, since it is usual that the female will be less interested into sex during menopause, while the male will still be actively seeking it and possibly start another affair because of that. Does anyone have experience with this, and do you think this concern is valid? Your thoughts and opinions are much appreicated!
596192 tn?1225446998 i am due to see the doc on the 11th and will be told what they think they have found i have been told over the last few weeks that it is a tumor a cyst a mass i just dont know my CA125 is up and i feel very down... what i want to know is what will my sex life be like after they take it all away ....
Avatar m tn (I posted this question in another area but get confirmation it posted.) My wife is post menopausal and claims to have low labido at least to initiate sex. We "schedule" sex once a week which throws spontaneity to the side. She does respond because she gets extremely wet and excited. I can usually make her orgasm. I did find out however, she has been masturbating. I find it hard to understand why someone would claim to have a low labido but have a desire to masturbate.
Avatar f tn I actually googled bleeding after menopause. Every single website about this topic said go and see your doctor immediately. So I made an appointment as quickly as possible with my family doctor. She reassured me that it was probably nothing but certain things had to be ruled out. She gave me a requisition form for a blood test and a requisition form for a pelvic ultrasound. Anyway, don't be worried. Just go and speak to your family doctor and get this checked out. I wish you well.
Avatar m tn I am 20 years old so I doubt that age is not the problem. After sex, my inability to orgasm led me to conclude that I was gay by assumption. However, after reading several online blogs, I read that there are quite a few people who have my same inability to orgasm.I was a little afraid to have sex with my girlfriend because she has herpes and while I wore a condom, I still had some fears and pulled out several times. I have a history of anxiety attacks, but I do not take anti-anxiety medication.
Avatar m tn My wife admitted to me last night that she has no interest in Sex anymore as she has went through menopause. I am wondering as I still love her but no sex is driving me crazy and masturbating is not enough fun.
Avatar f tn If you had sex 5 days ago implantation most likely hasnt even occured yet IF you did concieve... plus if you are not getting a period there is no way of knowing if you are ovulating or had a chance of ovulating... The only way to know for sure where you are at with menopause is to go to you Dr and gets tests done to see, and if you are not trying to get pregnant then protection is a must at this point as well! im not sure what pill your talking about taking?
Avatar n tn Because women see sex as a mental, emotional bonding thing that means forever after and all that. Men on the other hand see it as sex, period. Feels good so do it kind of thing. Now that is not to say that men are cheaters, just that their take on sex is different than ours. If he sees a naked chick, he is gonna look whether he loves you or not. If you ask him if he looked he will deny till the cows come home, cause he dont want to fight, but yeah, they all do.
Avatar m tn There are both prescription drugs that can help reduce menopause symptoms, and also some herbal alternatives that help & have fewer side-effects. There may be a very small number of women whose sex drive increases during/after menopause, but I don't think it's very common. Unfortunately, for the vast majority of women, menopause causes their sex drive to drop off quite a bit, sometime dramatically.
Avatar n tn When I started going through menopause I had all typical symptoms, night sweats, lack of sleep, decreased sex drive, hot flashes (every 8 mintues). Then I went on Activella which with one pill changed my life. I was great for about 7 months and then I started bleeding again. I had a huge fibroid partially removed (couldn't get it all) about 3months ago and have never stopped bleeding from that.
Avatar f tn t noticed it again lately. BTW, I hit menopause about 5 years ago, and I noticed this after that. I have had a couple of infections, but not related. Please let me know if you gain any insight. Thanks!
