mobic

Avatar f tn She seemed to be more mobile when taking the Rimadyl. Not sure if switching her back to the Rimadyl would be better for her or whether her symptoms are more disease related and a change in meds won't change things. The vet has advised to keep her on Prednisone.
Avatar n tn In the 2 dogs I had with severe arthritis, one dog had it in his hips from an early age - around 5. He was on rimadyl for years, and during his last year we went to deramaxx. Rimadyl is pretty cheap because it's been on the market for quite some time. Deramaxx is much more effective, but also more expensive. The difference in my dogs was truly remarkable once their arthritis pain was treated effectively. At least the meds give a short-term trial run and see how she does.

Avatar m tn Charcoal is not administered in cases of Rimadyl® toxicity due to chronic Rimadyl® administration or in the case of idiosyncratic reactions. Placement of an intravenous catheter for administration of intravenous fluids and other medications. Intravenous fluids are administered at high rates (diuresis) to rehydrate pets that are dehydrated from vomiting and diarrhea and to treat or prevent kidney failure.
Avatar f tn My dog is a four year old rotti. She was prescribed rimadyl for a tear in a ligament. After 6 days she has had her first seizure. The vet say there is no way rimadyl would do that. They wanted to put her on a seizure medicine that day. I waited to see if and when she would have her next seizure. A month later she had one. It was not nearly as bad and she recovered much more quickly. Could the rimadyl have caused the first seizure?
Avatar n tn has rimadyl already destroyed my dog liver and kidney he has been taking it 2 time a day for almost 3 weeks we stopped it
Avatar m tn Can you take meloxicam and later a couple of Advil? I was prescribed meloxicam for my arthritis and it does not always help me..
1595613 tn?1297284499 I have a 2 year old papillon that's been very active and healthy. Last Thursday, she started putting no weight on her right hind foot and cried when anything touched it. We took her to the vet, xrays didn't show any visible trauma, so the vet placed her on Rimadyl for a few days.
535089 tn?1400673519 Since his visit, he has been medicated with the Thyroid meds and Rimadyl (anti-iflammatory). The Rimadyl is quite expensive and he does so well on it so when it was time for a re-fill I had asked the Vet if there was a less expensive ant-inflammatory he could take that was close to the Rimadyl. She said no. Instead she prescribed my Dog Tramadol along with the Rimadyl. She said that by giving him the Tramadol on a daily basis, he would only need 1/2 a tablet of the Rimadyl daily.
Avatar f tn My dog was neutered 4-17-12. He came home on Rimadyl 50 mg q twice/day. He ate all the rimadyl at once in my absence. I took him to the hospital within 2 hours of overdose. The vet started IV fluids and administered apomorphine at 6 PM. At 9 PM he spiked a fever 107• and started started seizing, Can this be from the medications?
Avatar n tn Basically, do you think the throwing up is due to her having had her stomach pumped? ie, started straightaway afterwards, and she didn't have this before? Rimadyl is a very good painkiller but quite strong. I wonder if this could be upsetting her? For that year she's been on Rimadyl did she throw up any more frequently than she usually would? I wonder if you could ask your vet to try a different painkiller or anti-inflammatory.
175688 tn?1297556647 Meloxicam is considered a strong Motrin, but this meloxicam knocked me out for 24 hours. My husband was soon prescribed it and he also hated it. You cannot drive or read, just sleep. Meloxicam is a pain killer, very strong, and doctors are acting like it is just motrin. It is not. It puts you in a coma.
Avatar n tn I have been on Meloxicam for about 4 months and have gained 20 pounds and i feel swollen. I am also on highblood pressure meds. I just quit taking the Meloxicam. Does anyone know if the weight goes away? How long does it take for bloated feeling to go away?
Avatar m tn I got x-rays and was diagnosed with degenerative arthritis in my big toe joint and on 9-18-13 I started taking Meloxicam (Mobic). The 1st two nights of taking Meloxicam I felt achey at night and had a fever of about 100- 101. That went away for a while, but then started happening again now every night from about 10-1-13 to now 10-11-13. I get a slight fever at night (100-101) and sweat bad all night long. Bad enough to where the sheets are wet. I usually lose about 3 - 3 1/2 lbs.
Avatar f tn Is there anyone who is taking Meloxicam that would know how much aspirin is in it? I am allergic to aspirin and just read the printout from the pharmacy. Can't call my dr till Mon. and think maybe I shouldn't take it. On the other hand my dr knows I'm allergic to aspirin. Hoping someone may know.
Avatar f tn Has anyone heard of Meloxicam helping with w/d from opiates, such lortabs? I went to the doctor for some issues that I had been having and decided to reach out to my doctor for help getting off these bad boys. He perscribed Meloxicam to help with some the withdrawal symptons. I have to say this stuff, which is just an anit inflammatory will helps with the symptons. It eleminates the hot, flush feeling which is most annoying. It really does help.
Avatar m tn I have gained a considerable amount of weight will taking Meloxicam. Once I stop taking will the weight come off??
Avatar n tn ll need a better anti-inflammatory med from your vet. Rimadyl is old enough to be a cheap and effective medication. I had one dog on it for almost 7 years for hip dysplasia and he did fine. We eventually had to change to Deramaxx when the rimadyl wasn't working as well, and I have to say I'm a total deramaxx fan. It can be expensive if your dog need a high dose, but since your dog is small it shouldn't be too bad. One prescription med I can't recommend is etogesic.
Avatar f tn ALSO, if you take him to the vet and the vet prescribes a product called Rimadyl, do your research on it before giving it to him. Labrador retrievers are one of the breeds that are known to have adverse reactions to rimadyl, and sometimes the benefits just do not outweigh the risks in something like this. What you CAN do is to start giving him a glucosamine and chondroitin supplement.
172023 tn?1334672284 He's on Rimadyl 125mg bid, and Tramadol 50mg bid for now. He doesn't always get these twice a day--it depends on how much pain he seems to be in.
Avatar f tn Well, the sweet old fellow has been a little stiff lately, he still enjoys his walks and games and dancing but not for as long as when he was young. So the vet prescribed Rimadyl. He said to give it to him for fourteen days and then only when we noticed him getting stiff again. This has made such a difference in his life!! He's bouncy and dancing again jumps with ease. What I'm wondering is why only fourteen days? Does the medicine build up toxins if taken for too long?
Avatar n tn My dog has a potential disc injury in her back. Last Saturday, she was in a lot of pain. Gave her a Rimadyl and it didn't help. Took her to the emergency vet and they prescribed Tramadol and Robaxin (pain and muscle relaxer). Took her to our normal vet on Monday and he said to continue those meds and also gave her a steroid shot. She did well throughout the week... still stiff but seemed to improve. Last night, Thursday, she seemed to be in pain again.
