depo-provera

Avatar m tn My OB prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone and advised me to take it if I went longer than 3 months without a period. I took my first course of the meds in early April of 2016 and got my period right after my last dose. Had a period in May with no help, missed June and July so I Started my Medroxyprogesterone again in August and started my period later that same month. Missed September, but as of October and without needing the medroxyprogesterone I have been getting my period every month.
Avatar n tn t had period since Sept 28 so my Dr put me on medroxyprogesterone 10 days 10mg, but my period came down on day 4. should i continue to finish medroxyprogesterone so should i take metformin???
777396 tn?1329787551 Hi, how are you? I have had one doctor tell me that I did have PCOS and another tell me that I don't...I honestly think that I do. What is funny though is the doctor who told me I don't is the one who gave me a never ending supply of the medroxyprogesterone. I have to take it every month. Are your periods just kind of irregular? At this point I actually don't get one at all unless I take the provera "medroxyprogesterone".
Avatar f tn I was bleeding for 3 months straight and my obgyn put me on medroxyprogesterone to make it stop. I started it the day before I was predicted to ovulated. I have been off it over a week and was told when I stopped I should spot and then my period should come normally. I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?
Avatar m tn My doctor prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone about a week ago and told me to take it for 5 days until i get my period then start taking birth control once it starts. it's been about 8 days and i still havent gotten my period. she says that it you dont get your period for more than 3 months (without the medicine, naturally) then i have a great risk of uterus cancer. Does this mean i have cancer because it isnt working?
Avatar n tn During your normal cycle your progesterone raises right before your period and that drop in levels causes the period. The medroxyprogesterone is just like that normal rise and drop. I hope this helps!
Avatar f tn Hi I'm 27 years ago and I have a 7 year old daughter. Me and my fiance have been ttc for 3+ years now. I was prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days. I started taking this medicine on the first of March and had a regular cycle on the 19. I didn't take the medicine in April due to me being on antibiotics. I didn't have a period in April and haven't had one so far in May. I'm usually regular with my cycles being off a few days.
Avatar n tn Did they give you a blood HCG before they prescribed the medicine? My experience, I was given medroxyprogesterone to induce my period as well, and I didn't start bleeding until about 2-3 days after finishing the 10 days. However, this is my third time taking it, and I actually started bleeding about 8 days into it this time. So it may differ! It probably wouldn't hurt just to give your doctor a call though, and just tell them it hasn't worked and you feel nauseated.
2051102 tn?1330317633 THE DOCTOR TOLD ME TO START ON THE FIRST OF MARCH AND TAKE IT FOR 10 DAYS. MY NEXT SET OF MEDICATION IS TO START APRIL 1 FOR 10 DAYS. I WAS WONDERING IF AND WHILE I AM TAKING THIS MEDICATION WILL I START MY PERIOD OR WILL I START A FEW DAYS AFTER. I REALLY HOPE THESE PILLS WORK CAUSE I CANT STAND HAVING THESE LONG PERIODS. I'VE NEVER BEEN THROUGH THIS, SO CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME OUT. I WOULD GREATLY APPRECIATE IT.
Avatar f tn From the day of my last pill it took 4 day to start spotting and then additional 2 days to have my official AF. I am going to ask my RE to start me on clomid for my next cycle. I am currently doing the OPK, but not sure if it will work (I'm on CD17). Good luck with the medroxyprogesterone pill. I had some horrible cramping, breast tenderness and mood swings. I'd worn your hubby in advance.
Avatar f tn Oh forgot to mention I am also medroxyprogesterone to induce my period. After my last pill I started to spot 3 days later, but not a regular period until 5-6 days later.
Avatar f tn The doctor told me he cleaned me out really good and everything looked great. I was expected to start IUI the following month but I never got my period. It is now the end of April which means I missed 2 cycles. I finished taking a 10 day supply of medroxyprogesterone 9 days ago and still no period. Should I be concerned? Can I still get pregnant this cycle using iui? Or should I wait for one more cycle after this?
1906894 tn?1321873567 Ive been on medroxyprogesterone for a wk already to hopefully regulate my period but my breast are very sore. I havent felt this soreness since i was pregnant. I know the soreness is normal but I also feel like my breast feel n look bigger. I barely fit a size 34b for over 3 yrs or so n now it fits a lil tight. Is this normal? Are my breast getting bigger? Does my age have something to do with it (20years old).
Avatar m tn I had blood work done and I am not full menopause - so my DR, put me on Medroxyprogesterone for 10 days to start it up. Is it true that these drugs can make you more fertile after all is on track? I've posted before as I would love to get pregnant. When I thought I was full menopause I was sad to say the least. I hear so many stories of people that get surprised during pre-menopause when they think they are safe and then get pregnant - I should be so lucky! Thanks in advance for your help.
Avatar m tn You are a very young man and have normal instincts. You real problem is that you need a girlfriend and don't have one. Wouldn't it be better to find a lover than to take medications?
1745826 tn?1317593063 let them know how your feeling before you start that birthcontrol it could be harmful to the baby if you did get a fulse neg.
Avatar f tn Any suggestions on how to jump-start my period so maybe I can ovulate? Natural suggestions are more than welcome. Anything at all, I'm willing to try anything at this point. Reposting this here since mods moved the previous post to the wrong section. It's been over a year of trying with no luck.
Avatar f tn What kind of tests did they run? Did you get an ultrasound to outrule cysts? Cysts can interfere with your period. Did you recently start taking birth control pills or something? Continue to see your doctor for answers. Get a second opinion if you don't feel comfortable.
Avatar f tn My period has never been regular. Since i started my period, it has only come 3 to 4 times a year. i have been having unprotected sex with my boyfriend for 3 yrs now, never been on birth control and have yet to come up pregnant. At first i thought i just had an irregular period but now im scared that i will not be able to conceive. Since the age of 18, doctors have told me that my period will regulate itself...im 22 and its still irregular.
Avatar f tn So I told my doctor it was a iregular she gave me that to take for 10 days, one pill a day. I took all the pills and then I start testing for ovulation. 2 days it was testing I tested positive for ovulation I started bleeding and looks like I'm on my menstrual cycle but I don't know what it means can anybody help me.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PCOS a little over a year ago. I tried Glucophage but that didn't work. It's been just over a year since my last period so my doctor prescribed Provera to start my period then Clomid. I took the Provera as prescribed for 10 days. It's been 6 days since I stopped and still no period. All of the information I've read says it should take 3-7 days so I haven't called my doctor yet. Has anyone else had this experience.
Avatar f tn I went to the ob gyn and she prescribed me with this tablet medroxyprogesterone acetate she said it will help me menstruate and she will be expecting me to menstruate after a week but I'ts been a week since I've been taking these tablets and still no menstruation. Am i pregnant?
Avatar f tn I am taking the Medroxyprogesterone 150MG/ML birth control shot and I get very long periods, now? I have had my period for 35 days stright, I have frequent migraines not headaches, I'm feeling very weak, am having cold/hot flashes. I am just feeling the most horrible I have ever felt. Is it the birth control or could it be something else? P.S. I have two children, 2 years and three months.
Avatar f tn ve then decided to stop actively trying to conceive for now, but recently I am starting to think about trying again. Will continuing to take medroxyprogesterone help or hurt my chances of getting pregnant? Is there something else more effective that will regulate my periods without preventing pregnancy? More information is that I was on birth control for about 8 years and have been taking medroxyprogesterone for about a year now. I take 2 pills per day for the first 15 days of every month.
Avatar n tn They are putting me on this to induce a period. Has anyone ever taken this before? How long does it take for your period to come? I have six pills one per day. Also, any successful pregnancies soon after this drug was taken? Thanks!
Avatar f tn t help you get pregnant. It only helps you have a period if you are not ovulating on your own. If you want to get pregnant, you should probably ask your doctor for a medication such as Clomid which will help you ovulate too. Good luck!
