I have been off it over a week and was told when I stopped I should spot and then my period should come normally. I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?

Avatar f tn Hello, In case you are having heavy bleeding even after taking medroxyprogesterone then you should get tranexemic acid or ethamsylate prescribed. These should stop bleeding. 1855970 tn?1325827213 Hello, You need to rule out this bleeding which can be period bleeding or miscarriage bleeding. You can confirm it by getting your HCG levels checked. In case of pregnancy loss, the value of HCG will return to a non-pregnant range(<5 mIU /L) about 4 - 6 weeks after a pregnancy loss. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided.
20811884 tn?1518853698 Also, another thing is that I wasn't told that I would have 2 to 3 days of heavy bleeding, cramping, and/or blood clots. I already had a pap smear, pelvic exam, and mammogram done and it all came back as normal results. In addition, I have Epilepsy Seizures, Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder, Stomach Ulcer, and Acid Reflux. I am 40 and just need some questions answered. Is it normal for the MedroxyProgesterone pills to literally flush out my uterus in order for me to have regular periods?

Avatar f tn if I do bleed for a long time, How could I benefit from clomid if I can't have sex after taking clomid if I am still bleeding? Can someone please help me on what I should do if Im still bleeding after my last clomid pill? I am very anxious to get pregnant and I would not want a long/heavy period to interfere with that. If my doctor has to stop my period some how, before trying to conceieve again, will I have to induce another period? or could I maybe take clomid without a period?

Avatar f tn After that 60 days I started spotting for 6 days then had 2 weeks of very heavy bleeding (almost 3 weeks all together). This ended on April 4th & then after only 8 days with no period I got another one with light bleeding for about a week & then very heavy bleeding again ever since. The only break I've had is 6 days when I took the Sprintec birth control but I had a bad reaction with nausea & a crazy feeling in my head along with dizzyness. This was so bad I had to leave work.

Since you have been having menstrual bleeding that is heavy or prolonged you should inform your doctor. This is merely an advice and not a substitute of clinical examination. Consult your attending doctor. Take care!

Had one DNC at 17 then at 18 had another one with scope to find out what was going on they had found fibroid tumors . Fibroid tumors are a culprit of bleeding. So check into that.

Avatar n tn This can cause heavy bleeding, prolonged bleeding, clots, bright red, dark brown bleeding, etc. To get down to the nitty gritty--the problem is a lack of progesterone, and I would ask my patient to take some progesterone. Medroxyprogesterone Acetate should be available in most countries! I would also wonder whether my patient would like to go on oral contraceptives for cycle control--just for convenience. Good luck!
427728 tn?1204233418 but ever since last year i've been getting irregular menses. I went to my OB and he perscribed me MedroxyProgesterone and clomid a couple times. After taking it a couple of times I got my menses naturally (without meds), which is really good. This year, January and February I had my menses but only slightly. It wasn't heavy as before. My first day of my last menses was on Feb. 5th 2008.

Avatar n tn We are still unclear as to why I am bleeding so much. I've been placed on medroxyprogesterone until surgery which is less than one week. Doctor does not feel I have cancer but we're still awaiting results of RA125. Are there any alternatives to having the surgery?
Avatar f tn He told me that I will have a number of options (birth control, mirena, ablation, or hysterectomy) he told me that I may want to seriously consider a hysterectomy because over time the fibroid will grow and cause discomfort and I already have serious side effects from the heavy bleeding. He took a sample of the uterine lining, told me not to panic and wait for the results to see if it showed polyps.

Avatar m tn will i ovulate after finishing my 10 day supply of medroxyprogesterone 10mg? it was prescribed to me to stop my period, i was on day 10 when i went to the doc, I had 8 previous days of heavy bleeding before i went to the doc. so for now it seems to almost have stopped to a very slow flow. my husband and i are Trying to Conceive....another question, in a lot of posts i've noticed people use the anagram AF, what does that stand for?
Avatar f tn The hormone progesterone is often given to women suffering from prolonged heavy bleeding. Progesterone can help to normalize the menstrual cycle. This may have been the next step your doctor was going to try. I would change to a different doctor if I was you . Bleeding for that long can cause you to become anaemic (lack of iron) not to metion the expense of all that sanatory protection you are having to buy!!!
