Avatar f tn Hello, In case you are having heavy bleeding even after taking medroxyprogesterone then you should get tranexemic acid or ethamsylate prescribed. These should stop bleeding. It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I was bleeding for 3 months straight and my obgyn put me on medroxyprogesterone to make it stop. I started it the day before I was predicted to ovulated. I have been off it over a week and was told when I stopped I should spot and then my period should come normally. I have been having unprotected sex and I am 3 days late on my period. I have no clue what is going on. My questions is has anyone taken this and had this problem?
20811884 tn?1518850098 I went to a gynecologist back earlier this month on February 8th, 2018 to get a pap smear done. My menstrual cycle was completely irregular in which I had from January 3rd, 2018 to January 6th, 2018 and then started up again on January 11, 2018 and went through all the way until February 5th, 2018. The gynecologist prescribed me 10 pills of MedroxyProgesterone with a 10 day supply and only said that this would regulate my periods.
Avatar f tn I was prescribed Medroxyprogesterone because I was having irregular periods that either were extremely heavy and long or did not exist at all per month. I was prescribed this medicine after getting off of birth control pills with hopes to attempt to conceive with my husband. We've then decided to stop actively trying to conceive for now, but recently I am starting to think about trying again. Will continuing to take medroxyprogesterone help or hurt my chances of getting pregnant?
Avatar f tn Okay my doctor give me medroxyprogesterone 10mg. So I told my doctor it was a iregular she gave me that to take for 10 days, one pill a day. I took all the pills and then I start testing for ovulation. 2 days it was testing I tested positive for ovulation I started bleeding and looks like I'm on my menstrual cycle but I don't know what it means can anybody help me.
Avatar f tn i had a miscarriage in january and have had on and off constant bleeding. my doctor said its because my prolactin levels havent gone back to normal but it's bothering me because i feel like i've had a light period for almost two months straight. is this normal! Please help!!
Avatar n tn Did they give you a blood HCG before they prescribed the medicine? My experience, I was given medroxyprogesterone to induce my period as well, and I didn't start bleeding until about 2-3 days after finishing the 10 days. However, this is my third time taking it, and I actually started bleeding about 8 days into it this time. So it may differ! It probably wouldn't hurt just to give your doctor a call though, and just tell them it hasn't worked and you feel nauseated.
Avatar m tn I was prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 3 months because I was starting to bleed daily sometimes with clots sometimes just old spotting (brown discharge)and the medicine stopped the bleeding right away, in fact the very next day. I'm worried because I haven't had a regular menstrual cycle in almost 2 months.
Avatar f tn t have sex after taking clomid if I am still bleeding? Can someone please help me on what I should do if Im still bleeding after my last clomid pill? I am very anxious to get pregnant and I would not want a long/heavy period to interfere with that. If my doctor has to stop my period some how, before trying to conceieve again, will I have to induce another period? or could I maybe take clomid without a period?
Avatar m tn The medication that she takes to regulate her periods is probably Provera or Medroxyprogesterone Acetate. This medication will cause bleeding (sometimes heavy with clots) if the woman is not pregnant, and will not cause bleeding if she is pregnant -- it will not cause miscarriage. It is a good idea to use condoms whenever beginning a new relationship. Another form of birth control that your girlfriend might really like is the oral contraceptive pill.
2051102 tn?1330317633 Medroxyprogesterone is used to treat abnormal menstruation (periods) or irregular vaginal bleeding. Medroxyprogesterone is also used to bring on a normal menstrual cycle in women who menstruated normally in the past but have not menstruated for at least 6 months and who are not pregnant or undergoing menopause (change of life).
Avatar m tn My OB prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone and advised me to take it if I went longer than 3 months without a period. I took my first course of the meds in early April of 2016 and got my period right after my last dose. Had a period in May with no help, missed June and July so I Started my Medroxyprogesterone again in August and started my period later that same month. Missed September, but as of October and without needing the medroxyprogesterone I have been getting my period every month.
Avatar f tn After that 60 days I started spotting for 6 days then had 2 weeks of very heavy bleeding (almost 3 weeks all together). This ended on April 4th & then after only 8 days with no period I got another one with light bleeding for about a week & then very heavy bleeding again ever since. The only break I've had is 6 days when I took the Sprintec birth control but I had a bad reaction with nausea & a crazy feeling in my head along with dizzyness.
Avatar f tn He told me that I will have a number of options (birth control, mirena, ablation, or hysterectomy) he told me that I may want to seriously consider a hysterectomy because over time the fibroid will grow and cause discomfort and I already have serious side effects from the heavy bleeding. He took a sample of the uterine lining, told me not to panic and wait for the results to see if it showed polyps.
777396 tn?1329787551 She is having me do some tests, but says that I more than likely have PCOS. She wants me to take Medroxyprogesterone (Provera) to get my periods regulated. I first wanted to know about side effects. Second I was reading that this particular drug is not recommended as it could cause some sort of pregnancy issue. Wasn't sure about if that was fact or myth. Any input is appreciated.
Avatar f tn I went to see my gynocologist monday because I had spotting and bleeding since July 28th and ended up in urgent care that previous friday. My gyn Dr. wanted to put me on medroxyprogesterone acetate 10mg but while I was in the office they gave me a vaginal biopsy and was scheduled for a ultrasound so I wanted to get my results before I start my hormone medicine.Doctor called me the next day and said I have a non-cancerous firbroid and polyp from the biopsy results.
Avatar n tn I haven't had period since Sept 28 so my Dr put me on medroxyprogesterone 10 days 10mg, but my period came down on day 4. should i continue to finish medroxyprogesterone so should i take metformin???
Avatar m tn So my gynecologist put me on provera/ medroxyprogesterone 10 mg which I take every day. She put me on it to stop my periods so I don't lose anymore iron. I'd like to know what other people's experiences r w this medication and should I expect to get a period or not?
Avatar f tn The hormone progesterone is often given to women suffering from prolonged heavy bleeding. Progesterone can help to normalize the menstrual cycle. This may have been the next step your doctor was going to try. I would change to a different doctor if I was you . Bleeding for that long can cause you to become anaemic (lack of iron) not to metion the expense of all that sanatory protection you are having to buy!!!
Avatar f tn Going to give that a try. Staying positive in hopes of a positive. Wish me luck!
Avatar f tn I had the same problem when I was 17 and exactly 18 years old were bleeding for a month with heavy pass.ing of clots. Had one DNC at 17 then at 18 had another one with scope to find out what was going on they had found fibroid tumors . Fibroid tumors are a culprit of bleeding. So check into that.
Avatar m tn One example is Medroxyprogesterone acetate, which is an antiandrogen. This is used in cases where men feel that they cannot control their sexual impulses. The Medroxyprogesterone acetate will control urges and also may diminish pre-occupation which should make it easier to practice self-control.
Avatar m tn ve gone 6 months without getting it without being pregnant or anything like that. My doctor prescribed me Medroxyprogesterone about a week ago and told me to take it for 5 days until i get my period then start taking birth control once it starts. it's been about 8 days and i still havent gotten my period. she says that it you dont get your period for more than 3 months (without the medicine, naturally) then i have a great risk of uterus cancer.
Avatar f tn Me and my fiance have been ttc for 3+ years now. I was prescribed medroxyprogesterone 10mg for 10 days. I started taking this medicine on the first of March and had a regular cycle on the 19. I didn't take the medicine in April due to me being on antibiotics. I didn't have a period in April and haven't had one so far in May. I'm usually regular with my cycles being off a few days. I've never missed a whole month except for my pregnancy with my daughter.
