4730743 tn?1358469813 Tried several different medicines, and used certain tools. Sadly, a month into it, I started to realize I was paying a ton of money for a doctor whom was never available. I have a friend who suggested a family doctor, whom I am currently seeing. He is wonderful. Open-minded, willing, and actually listens to me. I have been seeing him for approx.

2107861 tn?1346470646 I think your body will get used to it in time. I'd make sure to drink lots of fluids and maybe try a stool softener for a while, until you are used to the long acting oxycodone (oxycontin). Isn't it nice to have your pain medicines actually help alleviate your pain? Unfortunately most pain patients are vastly undertreated with pain medicines. It seems they are the last resort, even for people known to have long-term chronic pain. It's crazy but true! orry for getting off topic.

I'm at the end of my rope! I am a nurse and trying to work. Is there any new medicines or treatments out there that I could try?.I take Neurotin 300 TID and Celexa 10mg 1Qday. Avatar n tn IFNa/pegIFNa, LAM, ADV, ETV, TDF or LdT may be used as initial therapy. ADV not preferred due to weak antiviral activity and high rate of resistance after 1st year. LAM and LdT not preferred due to high rate of drug resistance. End-point of treatment – Seroconversion from HBeAg to anti-HBe.

Avatar f tn s doing this to you, I think you should visit your gastro guy and get reevaluated and maybe get some better medicines for that. When I get constipated, and I know the waste is right there and ready to come out, but it won't come out, then I use Baby Lax, it's a little box of ointment tubes, and I squirt two in there, and out it comes in minutes.
Avatar f tn Dear Dreamergirl4u Ask your neurologist to prescribe EPLEPTIN 300MG and NEUREXAL 100MG. These medications are usually used in epileptic patients but are also used for people with very sever Migraines. I am also using this medications because of my severe headaches. I was diagnosed in February 2010 with a large pituitary tumor. My oncologist prescribed Epleptin and Neurexal for me. I have been on this medication for 3 months now and my headaches are not as severe or often as before.
975514 tn?1324997938 I find that chronic use of opiates makes my pain worse, and really intensifies my pain so to speak. They make my muscles ache more and I have to keep taking more and more for them to be effective. I do not like this. The initial effect is helpful, but the commitment and payback is not efficient. Plus doctors are goofy about them and I don't like do offer control that kind of control to another human being. Like will they or will they not decide to refill my darn prescription???
Avatar n tn Opioids do not reduce inflammation but instead attach to mu-opioid receptors located discreetly throughout the body in the brain, spinal cord, and other tissues to relieve many types of chronic pain, surgical pain, and acute pain by blocking pain signals from being realized by the brain. Combining an NSAID with an opioid produces a synergistic effect that may provide additional pain relief than one or the other taken by itself.
686681 tn?1227305438 I take Lyrica, several diabetic medicines, 40 Mg Oxycontin three times a day with 10 Mg/325 Peercoset for blow over pain. I also take Skylantin for muscle pain. Avatar f tn This includes over-the-counter meds like pain medicines or flu remedies. Make a list of them and take it in during your next check-up. Many medicines packaged on their own can also be found in other products, like cold and flu products. If you ever wonder what's in a medicine or product, read the label or ask your doctor or pharmacist. These suggestions will help you avoid dangerous side effects and drug interactions.
Avatar f tn It is commonly used for post surgery pain or chronic back pain. It has similar effects to morphine and is highly addictive. So its use should be monitored closely by the prescribing doctor. Of course as in all cases, you should talk to your doctor, a medical professional, who knows the status of your health about what is the best pain reliever for you. Good luck! Cheers!
Avatar n tn Controlled substances like the one you are on is never used, nor any pain killer used for depression. Do you have chronic pain? If that's the case when it eases up sure you wil feel better, but if you are taking it to feel high, it's not a good thing, whether its one pill a day - or when you just want to feel good. You are abusing the purpose of the med. There are a ton of pyschoparmaceutical meds out there that do work. If you are addicted, you need to seek help.

Avatar n tn Hello Ask, I think you may be looking for MedHelp's Expert Chronic Pain Forum. There is not a physician in this community as there is on the Expert one. I have supplied a link to the Expert Chronic Pain Forum. http://www.medhelp.org/forums/Chronic-Pain/show/325 I have SIJD (SIJ Dysfunction). I have had it for many years. I am not an expert but I can tell you that the condition has brought me years of pain. Nothing has been effective in treating it. Cortisone injections are short lived.
Avatar m tn She recovered completely but since some years ago she developed a chronic migraine. Of course we went to a lot of neurologists, made tomographies, magnetic resonances, etc. etc. and everything looks ok. Currently she takes 75 mg of Topamax (topiramate) in the morning and 75 mg more at night. Additionally, she takes 1 or 2 Acetaminophen (650 mg) daily and when the pain is very strong she takes 1 Maxalt (Rizatriptan) 10 mg.
Avatar n tn Dear Dr. I am 28 yrs old male, In the past few months, I ve had protected intercourse with 2 partners, I have also had unprotected oral with one of them on multiple occasions.. I've had a sore throat for about a month now, it eases with food intake and gets worse at night (sometimes stops me from sleeping as I can't swallow without pain) the pain seems to be on the left side of my throat and sometimes I have to force myself to caugh to clear it..
Avatar m tn As the day progresses, I fight through the pain and with more arm motions it usually wears off. The pain intensifies when I sleep and usually goes away around noon to two o'clock. The pain also comes and goes in both arms simultaneously. A couple of days will go by with the excruciating pain and then the next day I will sleep fine and there will be no pain. Sometimes that period of time can be a week, other times just one day.
