Avatar m tn Blood thinners are prescribed to reduce the risk of a sroke when you have risk factors such as the Atriel Fibrilation. The most common medications prescribed for AFib are listed below. Based on my own personal experience I would avoid the Tikosyn and the Flecainide based on experiences that I have had, however everyone responds differently and its important that you and your doctor maintain dialog about what works and what does not work for you.
Avatar f tn That's a very good question. Basically, the most common meds are stimulant medications. There are now a few successful non stimulant meds out there, but that's another story. So what are stimulant medications? "Ritalin (methylphenidate), Concerta (a long lasting capsule form of methylphenidate), Dexedrine (dextroamphetamine), Adderall (a mixture of amphetamines) and Cylert (pemoline) are sometimes called "stimulants".
Avatar n tn - Adderall 60 mg - Wellbutrin 450mg - Clomipramine 250mg - Ambien 10mg - Clonazepam 2mg - Testosterone I feel like I am in mental fog. I have been on these meds for a while. I am afraid if I mention to doc, he will cut me off. Should I just check into hospital?
Avatar m tn During the illness, I took a course of antibiotics + antivirals - immunomodulators interferon synthesis inhibitors. These medicines affect the formation of antibodies or viral load or HIV seroconversion?
Avatar n tn I also use Relpax, as needed, for migraines (which has been on a daily basis for the past week..so much for the KeppraXR). Relpax is the only thing I have found in the past 8 years that works (it turns my migraines back into plain old headaches). I am still trying to pay my medical bills on my own...I constacted five organizations that assist with medical bills...all said they are no longer able to help...donations are down. What is 'pronex'?
Avatar m tn Go see a urologist. Only a doctor can determine the exact cause of your problem and prescribe you the right treatment.
Avatar f tn I looked it up on good ole Wikipedia and found that it does also have other uses, but you have to read very carefully. For example it is thought to have a mild anti-depressant effect and it also increases sleep stability (small studies). However, this is a question that you want to ask your doctor. You need to know what condition he prescribed it for. Until you know that, you really can't do any effective research. And I would make my question very specific!
Avatar m tn He said I tested positive for morphine and negative for xanax. I take 1-2 ,25mg xanax a day-prescribed by him for anxiety. He referred me to pain management and that Dr prescribed me 15 mg Amrix and 50 mg Nucynta ER a day. He said the morphine is not from the Nucynta and that I must not be taking the Xanax or Nucynta that neither one of them showed up. I am not taking Morphine of any kind. I took a Xanax and a Nucynta 3 hours before this appointment.
429700 tn?1308007823 Yep, about 15 years ago, at the same time as both of my sons. My sister's kids have it, too, and I strongly suspect my older brother is ADD. I take Wellbutrin for both it and depression. I'm in MS limbo, but I find the ADD and my short-term memory are getting worse. I'm also menopausal, so who knows which of the three is causing it?
571966 tn?1217110203 I have been diagnosed with ADD. My doctor (who I only meet with for five to ten minutes) has prescribed me to three different anti-depressants, overall. The first medication was Lexipro, which did not help with my depression. So then he put me on Effexor XR. That made my depression unbelievably worse and I had major thoughts of suicide and experienced the worst sadness I think I ever have. I made numerous appointments to see my doctor, to get off of this medication, but missed the first few.
Avatar f tn There are always new anti-depressents coming out. There are several differnet classes of anti-depressents, and it could be that you've only been prescribed medications in certain classes and need to switch. For instance, for some people SSRI's don't work, so they have to go to the SNRI's. The problem with newer anti-depressents is they are often not covered by insuances and can be quite ppricy. Have you tried combos of meds before?
Avatar f tn Kindly suggest me which medicines should take in first trimester and in staring of second trimester.
Avatar n tn It can cause a heart issue. I will send you the link in your inbox to see for yourself if you feel you should or not.
Avatar m tn No, methamphetamines are abused drugs and I have never heard of them being perscribed for add/adhd. The treatments for add/adha are amphetamines and are similar to methamphetamines, but not exactly. Are you sure that is what your prescribed? What is the drugs name?
Avatar f tn The pulmonologist I saw at the local hospital was pretty upset when I confessed I was not taking the medicines I was prescribed in December when hospitalized for a nasty exacerbation... but all he did was write it down on my papers and giving me a stern look while confirming that I should take them... with no further explanation or word of wisdom... so I keep googling and biding my time until my next pulmonary test sometimes in May.
Avatar m tn they diagnose two cause one may counter act the side affects of the other and boost the original medication
Avatar m tn You'd have to have a risk and test positive for these or any std's to be prescribed medication and your doctor would easily be able to do that. Syphilis is treated with antibiotics with penicillin often given. Herpes does not go away although people with herpes take medication to end an outbreak and often to suppress future outbreaks. These are antiviral medications like Acyclovir. But from your previous posts, you were told you didn't have a risk.
Avatar n tn Could you be so kind to tell me about how many drugs are prescribed to be taken after a 5 bypass surgery? Is it about 9 different drugs? This discussion is related to Fast heartbeats after CABG.

Avatar m tn I'm not sure if Concerta is working for me? I'm a 20 year old female and I was recently diagnosed with ADD. I was prescribed with 18mg of Concerta, once every morning. I didn't feel particularly focused, but I suppose less distracted than usual. I felt very calm and relaxed on the first day. But since the first day, I don't notice any difference at all.
