Avatar f tn As you have posted your question on the colon cancer forum, I suppose that you fear that this may be the cause. It is highly unlikely because colon cancer is very rare under the age of ~40. I suggest that you type in rectal bleeding to google and click on to one of the many sites - the Medicinenet site is particularly informative. From the description of your condition it sounds as if the cause might be one of the minor conditions such as anal fissure, haemorrhoids etc etc.
Avatar n tn For possible causes google rectal bleeding and click onto one of the many sites - the Medicinenet site is particularly informative. Then you will be better informed when you discuss with your doctor. If the doctor's diagnosis is vague ("...well it looks as if it might be one of the minor causes such as anal fissure haemorrrohids etc.....") you may wish to request a colonoscopy.
Avatar m tn It is unlikely (but not impossible) that your symptoms indicate colon cancer. Type in rectal bleeding to google/yahoo and click on one of the many sites that describe the causes etc of rectal bleeding. The Medicinenet site is particularly informative. I suggest that you request a full colonoscopy.
1392168 tn?1280074408 You are very young to be a candidate for the more sinister diseases such as colon cancer unless there is a history of colon cancer in your family.
1280322 tn?1302780827 Blood in your stool can be from many things, not just colon cancer. However, blood in stool should be checked out by your doctor and treated. Its not something you want to have going on a regular basis. Talk with your doctor about getting an acurate diagnosis. Could be anything from hemmorhoids to IBD's.
415684 tn?1257329318 Optional debulking refers to removing all visible cancer to <1 cm. When having initial surgery for ovarian cancer, the surgeon strives to achieve this while also removing the uterus, fallopian tubes, cervix, and ovaries as well. If this is achieved, estimated prognosis and survival time will be better than if larger residual 'spots' of cancer are left in the abdomen.
Avatar f tn I am terrified of having colon cancer well actually having colon cancer that has gone too far... I just wanted to let you know ( those who know my anxiety) that I am going to get done.. wish me luck!!! and good outcome.
Avatar m tn Not sure where you live but here in N.Y. we have a Disgestive Disease Center. I would take him to another Gastroenterologist because thats a huge red flag for colon cancer. I also don't know how old he is but my friend just lost her son to colon cancer at age 21. By the time they found out he had it, he was in stage 4. Reason being, they do not check anyone younger than 40 sometimes 50 for that disease. Take him right away and good luck.
1983221 tn?1333506185 My response failed to save. wierd. Autologous stem cell transplant has been a bit of game changer in treatment for my type of cancer (Multiple Myeloma) since the mid 90's. Unlike the article it is not considered curative as most MM patients relapse within 5 years of the transplant. So far I am almost three years out and in remission, taking a "drug holidy".
Avatar m tn hi im a 24 year old male and for the past few months ive been experiencing sharp pains in an area in front of my tail bone. Every once in a while I would be sitting at my computer and then get a sharp spike in pain and it would go away. I didn't think it was anything but today when i went to have a bowel movement there was a LOT of liquid red blood in it! it made all the water in the bowl pink. before went to the bathroom i had another one of those pain spasms.
Avatar m tn The lump thing on my jaw has me concerned, but I have no idea if its typical of bone cancer or not. Also, with all the CT scans, and with my recent normal blood count, can I rule out cancer? Ive had this uneasy anxiety about having cancer for two years, and I would think something major would have shown by now, atleast in my blood counts. The anxiety just came on one day, and it just hasnt left. Thanks for your help!
Avatar m tn The first vet took a needle biopsy and said there were cancer cells. It could be bone or fatty cancer. She wanted to do a biopsy but after looking at x-rays she was convinced it was bone. I got a second opinion, the second vet did not want to biopsy said it was to painful we would just watch it. This was Nov. it is now March. In Dec. the second vet said it had doubled in size he was sure it was bone cancer and he had only a couple of months left.
Avatar f tn To suppress cancer from recurring, I have been kept at a near zero TSH level. My worry is how that will affect other parts of my body by that suppression. I already have osteopenia and I know this can affect my bone density. I am only 36 and would to get full blown osteoporosis by the time I'm 40! Also, with these low levels, can that affect the heart? I am currently taking 175 mcg of Synthroid and when I asked my doctor, he said I would probably stay on that for at least a year.

Avatar n tn As a start, type rectal bleeding into google and click onto one of the many sites. The Medicinenet site is particularly informative. This will give you more information for when you visit your doctor - which I suggest you should do urgently. Rectal bleeding is never normal.
Avatar m tn Dear Neuroguru, Hmmmm. Me thinks ye should read about what orthopedists do, which they do nothing but work on diseases and disorders of the bone, and also you should wake up and remember what the SKULL is. The skull is a bone. If anyone has been diagnosed with what the original poster said, "bone tumor in the left supraorbital region of my skull," this is someone who has a tumor in the bone of his skull just above his eye.
Avatar n tn I'm not to sure really but I just read an article where they are using there newborn sons cord blood to rewire there first child's brain by replacing stem cells in order for him to be able to walk. And I think... say your child would develop cancer they could use this blood to treat it and it is an equivalent to bone marrow.
427555 tn?1267553158 He mentioned high rates of cancer, especially thyroid, could be traced to river pollution. 640,000 children in the U.S. ere exposed to dangerous levels of mercury in the womb.
Avatar f tn It started getting harder to walk and the pain can only be described as bone crushing. About 3-4 weeks ago, I lost the ability to walk or stand. I’m literally paralyzed. I was in the hospital from 4/5/18-4/12/18. They found I had vasculitis. They did a bone marrow biopsy which showed nothing. Blood work was low white count, low red count and two others I forgot the name of, they did MRI’s as well.
Avatar f tn I will be writing my representatives today saying that I support and they should support the Viral Hepatitis and Liver Cancer Control and Prevention Act, H.R. 3974. This bill will "implement a plan for the prevention, control, and medical management of hepatitis B and hepatitis C, which includes strategies for expanded vaccination programs for hepatitis B in adults, primary and secondary preventive education and training, surveillance, screening, early detection, and research".
Avatar n tn m an 18 year old male who admittedly suffers from anxiety (especially medical anxiety). I have recently been consumed by the constant worry that I may have colon cancer. What began this fear was the fact that when I had a bm I would notice a red chunk in my stool also I would notice a darker chunk in my stool (the red and black was not streaky). I went to the doctour and he was not concerned he sent me to get my hemoglobin tested which returned to be normal.
