Avatar m tn Hyalgan (five injections) or ViscoPlus (single injection) in joint after 3 weeks. PRP Three injections after 3 weeks. Question: These injections are quite expensive. Are there any other injections/medicine as alternative ways? PS Sorry for my "home-made" translation - I'm not English native speaker and I'm not a health professional...
Avatar m tn This is a scan in Nuclear Medicine that looks at the gallbladder and biliary tree. The scan is done for obstruction (as in gallstones). In it you are injected with a small amount of radioactive isotopes. You don't directly react to these isotopes. What happens is a nuclear medicine camera then tracks the isotopes as it moves through your system. The typical scanning time is around an hour.
1547031 tn?1296831436 If anyone is interested in having a guest expert or guest speaker on this forum, please let me know ~ and also let me know what subject you'd like to have them discuss. I think this could be a great opportunity to learn more about our disease and/or new coping skills! Thanks to nursegirl for helping me get this set up!
Avatar f tn Namaste Linda, No, I'm a homegrown American although many of my thoughts and beliefs are derived from Eastern cultures. For centuries they have practiced medicine and religion in a different light than that in which we see it. I could go on for hours concerning their feelings of compassion towards others, their respect for all beings and their kindness. As for their medicine, I've used accupunture and Chinese medicine with great benefit.
Avatar f tn t have any medicine in the house, nor do I want to take any to make myself fall asleep. Also, Merry Christmas, mommies!
1568826 tn?1296308346 My daughter's was got rid of by slamming her with a dictionary. Ain't modern medicine wonderful? I read recently that you can get rid of a cyst by rubbing it with iodine. The article also said that iodine deficiency often led to the development of cysts. As I am cyst laden I will try the cure(?). Interestingly, until I started supplementing, I was very low on iodine. If I get a result I will post.

They are the Freedom Caucus — some of the most conservative members of the House, who largely align with the Tea Party movement. They've been causing outgoing House Speaker John Boehner headaches since he was elected to that position.

Avatar f tn According to the dictionary a tumor is "a mass of abnormal tissue that resembles normal tissues in structure, but which fulfills no useful function." A lesion is a "pathological change in a bodily tissue." (Concise Medical Dictionary). Sounds pretty similar to me. When I use the terms at work I use lesion when it's a flat area of damage and tumor when it's more of a bump/lump. Not sure if that's accurate but that's what I think of.
Avatar f tn I saw a fibro specialist who is a physical medicine/rehab doctor. It doesn't fit any of the obove options. I am also a believer that it is way overdiagnosed for the reason you stated above. People get diagnosed without anyone even doing a tenderpoint exam.
Avatar m tn Looking up the definition of extrasystole in a medical dictionary it appears they are the same thing.
Avatar n tn oral sex constitutes a real risk, even though really low. and if you check the answer the doctor gave to my question, he wrote : "your risk is virtually non existent". where virtually, according to the dictionary(i'm not a native speaker as you can imagine), means " almost", not 0. i know my risk is really really low, but i hoped it constituted a 0 risk, not a " virtually no risk exposure"....
Avatar f tn It means your body is coagulating or clotting your blood more than it should. My guess is you probably have a higher than normal platelet level. The higher the platelet level the more the blood clots. You can find more information about medical terms with an online medical dictionary.
Avatar f tn That was great! He did a good job of acting out all of them accurately. I didn't get any sound either and I checked to make sure my speaker volume was high enough. The volume was turned all the way up on that site too.
Avatar m tn Could you please suggest any medicine or exercise or anything which can help his stomach to regain its tone and shape? Thank you.
Avatar f tn Ok, I looked it up. The definition of cyesis in the medical dictionary is simply..pregnancy. So your scan is reporting an early pregnancy. Congratulations to you!
