534553 tn?1281991313 I am in my third IVF cycle and my doctor wants me to try Menopur in addition to Follistim. Has anyone else ever used this? I am a little nervous about preparing it w/ the q-tip and all.
483516 tn?1319048275 Has anyone ever bought some discount IVF medications form someone who was doing a cycle and had some leftovers?
Avatar n tn What we are wondering about is, once extracted, can that sperm be used in IUI - or does it have to be used in IVF? From our research it seems that IUI will be considerably less expensive to us - IVF may actually not even be possible for us financially.
Avatar f tn In Ohio, I paid 3,000 for meds...10,000 for cycle and 2,200 for ICSI...
Avatar n tn Dear phoebe3289 - The success of IVF has actually very little to do with the extent of adhesions around your fallopian tubes, as IVF bypasses the tubes. In fact, when human IVF was invented back in 1978 it was used almost 100% for women with damaged tubes. It was only in later years that other causes of infertility were treated with IVF. The most important predictor of success in IVF is your age; if you are 35 or younger, chances are excellent. At ages 36-39 chances are intermediate.
Avatar f tn My infertility specialist says the only way I will be able to conceive is by ivf. Are there any suggestions in my condition. I have been on DHEA for the past two weeks. I would love to hear back from everyone. Please Help.
Avatar n tn hi,the GnRH antagonist protocol is 1 which shuts down the pitutary by closing receptors&thus stopping GnRH(gonadotropic releasing hormones i.
1535793 tn?1521005282 I don't ve any idea about herbal medicines but i can suggest you 1 thing. You can go through ivf treatment. I know its very difficult for you but in my opinion ivf is best way to get pregnant.Good luck to you.
Avatar n tn Hello everyone, I wanted to know, if anyone would be interested in my left over medication at a fraction of the cost. I have 10 vals of menupor (2 boxes) expiration date 08/08 and 30 vals of bravelle (6 boxes) expiration date 11/08 left over. Please let me know, it does not have to go to waste.
Avatar f tn HOWEVER, the major reason Lupron is used in an IVF cycle is to shut down all of the natural hormones so that the hormones can be manipulated with medications. Your pregnancy hormones will very likely "overcome" the effects of the Lupron--in other words, the pregnancy will now take control. You should definitely NOT use any more Lupron, and should see your RE/OB ASAP, but you will probably do fine! Good luck!
Avatar f tn 2 faint positive home tests and a low hCG positive. It ended in a biochemical pregnancy/miscarriage my 4th IVF: PREGNANT !!! My 1st beta blood results today: 380. That's a strong strong number. My doctor called and said I was definitely pregnant. So, out of all my IVF's only the frozen ones worked, so have faith and don't believe that **** about fresh transfers being better than frozen. That is not the case with everybody.
Avatar f tn If you were my patient, I would advise you that the polyps were probably caused by the medications used to stimulate your ovaries during IVF and IUI cycles. They may have played a role in your infertility recently, but are probably not the only problem. Have you considered donor eggs? After 11 years, it may be time to try something like donor eggs or a gestational surrogate if you really want to have a baby. Good luck!
Avatar f tn Has any one done back to back ivf and how was the outcome? Did you use the same medications or used different ones?
945508 tn?1259156758 That GREAT! I am so glad to have someone to go through this with. This will be round 2 for me. I will be using Gonal F this time around I used different medications last time. No the shots really didn't hurt, the progesterone got where I was dreading them at the end of the 2 weeks. How old are you? I am 39 and this is the reason I think round 1 didn't work. I had 16 follicles, 7 eggs and 4 of them made it to for a 3dt, two of which were 8 cells so I was sure it was going to work.
2094653 tn?1334267573 I haven't used calcium sulfate before but I work in a doctors office and the doctors prescribe it for low calcium.
Avatar f tn Spiriva is an anticholenergic used to treat various forms of COPD, but rarely asthma. The primary function of these medications is to reduce mucous in the respiratory system. They do have a mild broncho-dilating affect. I have not used Spiriva so I am unsure of its dosage, but I have taken ipratropium which is in the same class. As a neb solution it lasts 6 hours and as an MDI it last 4 hours. Check your prescription for dosing on this medication.
233562 tn?1282768382 ve seen a lot of you ladies talk about your IVf procedures and I am currently researching IVF just in case I may need to go that route. I am on my second round of clomid/IUI but Im not sure how affective it is as DH has extremely low counts. This time we are doing two collections and combining them to get a better chance. My insurance covers everything as far as the IUI procedures go, but they don't cover IVF or any medications. My quesiton is how did you ladies pay for your procedures?
Avatar f tn Hi BNik7, if you can try to do a new cycle of IVF and leave the frozen ones there. I too had a failed 1st IVF, but I immediately stared my second one and did acupunture with it. Keep in mind that your RE will be able to tweek the medications that they used in your first cycle to a more successful 2nd cycle. Fresh embryos are better. Congrats you did get pregnant, but talk with your RE and see if he can find some solution.
405370 tn?1332206110 How are you doing anyway? You are so blessed to have such good insurance coverage. My ins covers the meds up to a lifetime of $12,000. I used $6,000 in one IVF cycle and since I've used meds for IUI I only have enough for 1 more IUI with meds. I too am blessed to even have that as I know others have no coverage at all. My clinic charges $6000 for the IVF cycle meds are seperate. Let me know how you are doing.
1052633 tn?1311872678 With a perfect cycle, it may take approximately 3 months. With my last cycle I started taking birth control pills in Sept. and had my transfer in Nov. But prior to this I had to go through all the screening test so, if you respond well to the medications..your cycle should be about 3 months. Good luck!
10645099 tn?1433258289 It seems like doctors are hesitant to let me try Clomid due to my normal cycles. Anyone experience normal cycles and successfully used clomid or other medications and got pregnant?
Avatar f tn the hCG using pregnancy testing strips, 12 hours, 24 hours and 48 hours after the injections. I used a different brand of hCG for IUI and IVF. All test strips were negative. I used them correctly, and they were purchased for the "test-out." I have endometriosis, autoimmune disease that attacks my adrenals, ovaries and reproductive cells (killer-cells). I also tested positive for the FMR1 gene. Triple whammy of fertility hell.
Avatar n tn I had a laparoscopy done in Jan 2015, and went for a IVF, but failed. The doctor is planning to have the Da Vinci Robot to remove the cycts. I did some research online, I think the Da Vinci is treated for cancer. And doctor admitted that he didn't clean everything out when he did the laparoscopy in Jan. I want to know if anyone has the same experience that can be shared? and I am thinking to change another doctor, but not sure if this is a good idea. I'd really appreciate your help.
