605458 tn?1539228808 I have a long history of Bipolar I. I've been stable on meds for three years, although I stil suffer from depression that varies in intensity. A few months ago I suddenly becme extremely irritable and mentioned it to my counselor in passing. She suggested it was a symptom of mania (maybe an upcoming episode), and I had one of my meds changed (increase in Seroquel) and it helped right away.
719785 tn?1232901518 I'm happy to hear this. It could very well be the medications causing the irritability. Esp. since she increased the dosage of Cymbalta. With the internet, you can always check for adverse reactions to any medications you might be placed on. Often times the doctor will not mention this, nor the pharmacist...and one could have serious reactions to it. I had tried Effexor and Ultram (because the doctor prescribed it) and I began having seizure activity the second night.
1010685 tn?1295032636 I am trying to quit smoking anyway and took it for a while about ten years ago for depression with no bad side effects. I know SSRIs are probably better for anxiety, but I hate the sexual side effects. I also considered ativan, but since my mood swings are so intermittent and short-lived, I don't know if they would kick in in time to help.
1691407 tn?1332712547 We see the doctor every wednesday, so if this continues or gets worse before next wed, then I will be giving them a call for sure!!! Not only for me, but most definitely for him. He will come up to me, just give me a hug and apologize for being such a "grump". I have thought the "grump" is not the word I would have used . . . lol.
Avatar n tn Same boat, feel so bad for my family hopefully we all meet our bundles of joy soon
Avatar n tn Ok Mommys I have been extremely irritable and hormonal the last two days and I just don't feel good at all. No consistent contractions but I've heard increased irritability is sometimes a sign of labor coming soon. Anyone have experience with this?!?!
550027 tn?1215767264 I have been on various medications for a genralized chronic anxiety disorder. A few days ago I was unable to refill my prescriptions, and find myself unable to for a while. I have been on Cymbalta for at least 2-3 years, within the last 8 months adding Wellbutrin to the mix. I take Klonopin tablets as needed. My question is how long should I typically experience the effects of the withdrawal of these medications?
2010625 tn?1329372056 hi i take seroquel xr and normal seroquel for bipolar disorder. the seroquel xr is a slow release tablet so it works over the night and the day. so i take the seroquel xr 450mg at about 7.30pm then at about 9.30pm i take the normal seroquel 250mg. it helps with sleep too.

Avatar m tn Major irritability, overall anger (at myself, the world, my situation), depression Medications tried: Paxil in 1996 (Worked amazingly well the first time, than stopped it because I thought I did not need it anymore..
Avatar f tn I have been taking Prozac at 20 mg for about a month. It seemed to help my depression pretty fast within a couple days, now it has been over a month and now I am starting to feel depression again. I thought these type of medications the person was suppose to improve in about a month? My depression is more mild, I don't have extreme agitation or irritability like I did, I just have this apathetic feeling were I don't want to get out of bed. I feel kind of slow like I am in a fog.
Avatar n tn my husband recently has been prescribed Lithium for his 'irritability' which sounds like things you are talking about that makes your blood boil he says it has worked wonders and I agree so far...granted we are two weeks in...
632919 tn?1252774093 5mg every other day because the withdrawal was so bad. So now I am taking 25mg generic immediate-release venlafaxine for one week, then 12.5mg for one week, then stop. Since going to the 37.5mg Effexor XR I have been even more irritable than usual, and now I am EXTREMELY on the 25mg immediate-release.
Avatar m tn The side effects have been manageable for the most part, but lately I have been dealing with very strong bouts of irritability. Yesterday I found myself yelling at them for no real good reason. This is compounded with having two daughters ages 9 & 11 who don't understand how the drugs affect my moods and anger. I also feel somewhat aggressive in my speech in general with strangers.
Avatar f tn I have been having chronic irritability for a while, I am not sure if the kratom is causing it or depression. Because I had chronic irritability in the past before I discovered the kratom but I don't think it was as bad, now I cant stop obsessing over it, the irritability is so unbearable its like I want to crawl out of my skin. My psychiatrist tried to put me on a anti-psychotic but I am afraid to take it.
1099201 tn?1338180918 Because of the potential for side effects and interactions with medications, you should take dietary supplements only under the supervision of a knowledgeable health care provider. Talk to your doctor before taking more than the recommended daily allowance of selenium. Although doses for some conditions are 200 mcg, there is some evidence that this amount could increase your risk for diabetes. Do not exceed the tolerable upper limit of 400 mcg. Over time, high doses of selenium can be toxic.
Avatar f tn Saw a different doctor in the same office. Told me to stay off my feet. Go back in 2 weeks to get checked again. Cervix was still closed at least. Hopefully I know more in 2 weeks & something can be done. But at least for now I'm directed to stay off my feet completely.. Rather some sort of action be taken than nothing at all.
Avatar f tn yeah, i think i have noticed it too, when i am sitting around on the computer too much, also i noticed it goes away with the right ssri, i have had chronic irritability for years and never knew it was a symptom of depression.
1129232 tn?1360800358 Lucky he is a good man because he took it all in and all he said back was that he loved me. And he even did the dishes before he left for work! It seems that the longer we try the more irritable I get during the tww...
Avatar f tn I have been having chronic irritability for a while, I am not sure if it is this psychoactive herb called kratom that is causing it, depression or both. Because I had chronic irritability in the past before I discovered the kratom. I cant stop obsessing over it, the irritability is so unbearable its like I want to crawl out of my skin. My psychiatrist tried to put me on a anti-psychotic but I am afraid to take it.
Avatar f tn m sorry you are going through this. I have taken Paxil for the irritability and Neurontin for restless legs associated with opiate withdrawal. I don't take anything addictive for the irritability because I've had an addiction problem but those two things may be helpful and easier for him to get. I'm still in the process of tapering off meds but if there's anything I can help with please feel free to message me.
184420 tn?1326739808 I have all these and more but most of us on triple seem to art least have irritability and nausea. Zofran is good for nausea since it is made for people on chemo and radiation.
Avatar m tn I'm 24 and used to be an outgoing, energetic and happy person. My wife now says to me, "You aren't the same person I married!". I'm depressed, I'm fatigued, I have next to no libido at all (Which is what is hurting our marriage), weight gain, worsening gynocomastia, extreme irritability and I desperately want to feel better. I haven't felt normal for almost 2 years and my irritability is sooo difficult to control.
