Avatar m tn my father is 78. He has fatigue, extreme shortness of breath, and nausea. He is eating very little. I started about a month ago but got worse quickly in the last week. He has a pacemaker and is on mediations for his heart also. What are some possible causes? He is seeing a doctor.
Avatar n tn Let me know what medications you are on in case it might be a reaction to one. Some medications can cause nausea and vomiting but usually not this extreme and not if you had it continuously even when off medication. If that's not the case then they would directly need to diagnose the cause of the nausea and vomiting and if they've ruled out all common causes then a gastroenterologist who is a specialist should do specific tests.
Avatar n tn Im no doctor so I can't tell you. But I'll ask you this, don't they give anti-nausea along with pain medication in the hospital? I wouldn't be afraid to do it but that's me and you know how brilliant everyone on the Internet is!
Avatar m tn I have a herniated T7 -T8 and I too have a problem with nausea. Some medications or other medical conditions can cause nausea, and the pain itself can contribute, but I truly believe that my condition has something to do with the nausea. I think doctors need to take another look, and perhaps do a study of some kind. Thanks Nancy W. R.N.
Avatar n tn Hello Dear, Whenever the brain is affected by an illness or injury, there is always the possibility of it causing nausea. Vertigo, anxiety, stress, and fatigue all cause nausea by affecting the brain. Also some foods cause nausea - it's called food intolerance. 1302049 tn?1272933134 Hi, How are you? Possible treatments for sinus polyps include medications and surgical means. Nasal sprays that contain corticosteroids may be used to shrink inflamed tissue. If the polyps are due to allergic inflammation, physicians could prescribe antihistamines to reduce allergic response. If the polyps are very large, this may require surgical removal. Migraine headaches may have abortive and preventive medications as well. Check with your doctor for proper management.

Avatar n tn Hello, Sometimes severe coughing can lead to vomiting. There are many causes of nausea. Stress, medications, reflux disease, gastritis, hepatitis, migraine; CNS causes are few conditions presenting wit nausea and headache. The presence of associated symptoms and clinical examination findings may be important for correct diagnosis and treatment. It is possible that GERD is causing acid and food to reflux back. You will need antacids and medications for your cough. Take light food.
1630244 tn?1299702172 m not sure if that relates to my new symptoms, but starting Friday I had nausea and diarrhea. This has lasted up to today (Wednesday) so I have had an almost constant feeling of nausea and fairly consistent diarrhea for 6 days now. The diarrhea only comes after I've eaten, about 1 to 3 different times. I definitely had it the worst Friday, but my nausea is almost constant, if not constant, and it makes it hard for me to do things. And I do not have a fever.

I have hotflashes, fatigue, light-headedness, slight sweats, and I get shaky. Does anyone have any thoughts as to what could be causing this? I have gone through galbladder HIDA scan, galbladder ultrasound, upper endoscopy, stomach emptying procedure, biopsies, MRI of brain and nothing has come out abnormal.

Avatar n tn For the past two weeks I have been taking Risperdal and Depakote and have had terrible symptoms of acid reflux. Nausea, vomitting, belching, dizziness, etc. I have never had these sort of symptoms before. Could taking these medications together cause these symptoms? I have taken Risperdal in conjunction with other medications previously and have had no problems.
Avatar f tn I am having dizzyness, Nausea and feeling sick in my stomach. It is not all the time, mostly in the evenings. I do not know what is causing this but i wonder would it be the fact that an not eating much in the last two weeks. (I am not starving myself) i am just VERY VERY worried about something and can not eat. I am eating 1 meal every 1-2 days. Would not eating cause my symptoms?
Avatar f tn In April 2008, about 60 days after the original AVM resection, I started experiencing debilitating headaches and nausea. The cranioplasty allowed my head to adjust to atmospheric pressure and the horrible headache went away! The nausea and "sick feeling" has been with me all along and it is really difficult to live with. My family MD said I suffer from Thalamic Pain Syndrome resulting from the original surgery.
Avatar n tn I have never heard of taking birth control for mood swings. In any case, I would just call your pharmacist and ask about the interactions of those meds. Good luck.
1389553 tn?1280782127 I am 40 yrs old I had an MRI done past Dec of last year, they say I have Rathe Cleft Cyst in my piturary gland. (5cm) I had several doctors saying they are not causing the migraine. Now, before I had the MRI, I was complaining of having severe migraines for the last 2 yrs. I was taking Imitrex for a while but, I did not like the way I felt-it caused my heart to beat too fast, felt I was surley gonna pass out. I am still taking Topamax to help preventing these headahces.
Avatar f tn Medications you are taking could very possibly be causing the nausea. If you also have any new symptoms with the nausea.....dizziness, shortness of breath, weakness etc, I would call your md. You may also consult with your pharmacist to see if you can take an antacid with any meds you are currently on but ask first. Some antibiotics are less effective with antacids. Another thought, depending on the level of discomfort in your foot, constant pain can trigger nausea with some people.
