I am wonder if you are taking any prescribed or over-the-counter medications that may affect your vision. I'm just guessing, but it's worth a chat with your MD. The dermatologist I went to specifically stated that this was Rosacea and also a side-effect of my skin being more permiable than most peoples because of the connective-tissue disorder. 149675 tn?1416673133 I have skimmed through the pegasys and copegus website and could not find anything. I am curious if it is true and what if you use SPF 50 and sit under an umbrella. Not to mention mowing the lawn, washing the car, fishing with the kids, canoeing, etc... It sure would stink to miss out on all of that good stuff not to mention who wants to be a hermit all summer.
Avatar f tn I am thinking along the line of dermatitis, photosensitivity and autoimmune disorder. These are just differentials .You have mentioned of rash and redness over the cheek which may be a photosensitivity reaction. Photosensitivity reactions have varying types and this may include solar urticaria and chemical photosensitivity. Dermatographia wherein raised portions of the skin manifest after pressure may be a form of hypersensitivity reaction (much like hives) . The cause of this is not clear.

Ispoke with my dr. on wed. about getting back outside now that I am done treatment and he said spf 50 I usually use 30 so no big deal, just to get out and walk on the beach again. But sun and treatment is not a good match.

Avatar n tn The sweat rash may persist for quite sometime and may need topical medications like corticosteroids to help resolve it. If it does not appear in other areas of the body and seems to be present and localized in one definite area, then a diagnosis of a sweat rash is likely. Some photosensitivity reaction may also present with a rash but they usually subside without any direct sun exposure. Discuss this with your physician. Have you been applying any cream and medications on the area?

Photosensitivity reactions involve a whole spectrum of skin conditions. Solar urticaria may present with a rash few minutes after exposure to the sun. Chemical photosensitivity may present with skin rash after application of creams and lotions coupled with sun exposure. Which one applies in your case?
Avatar n tn At this point, I would advise that you have a baseline consult with a dermatologist first prior to applying anything on the face. Some topical antibiotics and anti acne medications such as tretinoin may cause some skin reactions given direct heat or sun exposure. Are you taking any of these medications?

Is strenuous exercise contraindicated when taking amoxicillin?Also, is sun exposure a factor, and if so, how long after you complete the round of antibiotics should you wait before you are able to go back out in the sun?
Avatar f tn Photosensitivity is a real condition that is kind of like what you describe. You should discus this with your dr and see if any medications, supplements or beauty products you use can cause this.
