stress

642877 tn?1281799282 Reasons for getting a stress test: A stress test is performed to determine causes of chest pain, the exercise capacity of the heart, appropriate exercise levels in those beginning an exercise program, and to identify rhythm disturbances during exercise. There may be additional reasons that your health care provider requests this test.
Avatar f tn This is likely to be due to lack of adaptation and some minor amount of trauma like ligamental or tendon strain. However serious injuries like fractures, ligamental/ tendon tears would need to be ruled out as well. To minimize the amount of trauma, it is advised to wear soccer shoes with adequate foot heel and arch support and adequate padding especially in the front.
Avatar n tn Argh, this is going to be a brutal six to eight weeks until I can see the specialist.
Avatar n tn ve seen 2 different opthalmologists, both of them told me that my eye is normal and there was no harm to the retina, my visual acuity is 6/6 in both eyes, the only thing that disturbs me is these floaters. so i just wanted to know whether these things disappear by time or not?
Avatar n tn I went for my U/S and TVUS this morning. I don't have the results yet, of course, but did manage to sneak a peek of the screen when the tech left the room. The first time she left, I saw "7.0 cm" in the bottom corner. This was a measurement from the TVUS, as she had just finished. She then came back in, mentioned something about taking more measurements due to the "physics" of something or another, and looked via U/S.

Avatar f tn Low levels are indicative of a lowered capacity to endure physiological or psychological stress/trauma/injury and may present with abnormal immune response with increased incidence of autoimmune disease." Any ideas please? Other test results: Free T3 - 4.6 (3.9-6.7) Free T4 - 13.4 (12-22) TSH - 7.4 (0.2-4.
Avatar n tn If you go with Crystalens or ReStor, make sure the surgeon is highly experienced, implanting that lens on a regular basis, and has a high degree of patient satisfaction.
Avatar f tn It’s been like two week since I started experiencing these symptoms whenever I wake up in the morning or at dark and blink I see a scintillating scatoma which disappear within few seconds and doesn’t bother me in day time I did dilated eye test and oct and it came normal so what’s going on
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to MedHelp's forums. Thanks for your questions. We recommend that you see your doctor for an examination and to discuss this. Stress is something that our body does react to including delayed ovulation which leads to delayed menstrual cycles. https://www.webmd.com/women/why-is-my-period-so-random#1. Stress is on the list of things that can cause menstrual irregularity.
Avatar f tn Probably your retina moving from light adaptation to twilight adaptation to full night adaptation.
1355570 tn?1277286929 It took me about a year for my brain to heal from the trauma of the experience and another year or two for my moods to level off. But I think the leveling off may have had more to do with the stabilization of my life. I also think this time frame is not only due to the normal psychological scars and stresses of this period of upheaval, but also getting used to the meds which is also difficult. It takes a while...doesn't happen overnight, though some of the effects are seen overnight...
Avatar f tn I have been sitting at the computer a lot. I have been smoking for about 15 years and am 28 years old. Just wondering if the tightening is a symptom and do you think if I quit smoking soon I will be ok? Thanks.
Avatar m tn The only thing that has taken place in my life is a great deal of stress and trauma experienced over the past recent number of years. Can enough stress and trauma that a person experiences lead to cancer?
1692515 tn?1306270048 The various fibromyalgia triggers are over exertion, stress, lack of exercise, anxiety, depression, lack of sleep, trauma, extremes of temperature or humidity, and infectious illness. The suggested causes are immune system problems like toxins accumulating in muscles from lactic acid buildup. Disturbances in brain chemistry like depression, insomnia, infection with Epstein barr virus, which causes infectious mononucleosis, food allergy and emotional stress.
Avatar f tn Upon my pressing, pictures of the retina were taken and they found some pigment change corresponding to where the flash of bright dot I see--there is a medium-size spot where it appeared to be a lighter color (yellow-ish) on the orange-color retina. They told me this was unusual. They asked me questions such as: Do I have poor dark adaptation? Have I ever had bad eye infection? Has anyone in the family been diagnosed with any eye disease?
Avatar f tn I agreed but I hate these drops they make my floaters more apparent I see them a lot, worst if reading a white page or the PC, the contrast is lost, I can not see black thread on black fabric, I have to give up my favorite crafts , the floaters are left over of retinal tear and age. It does help the glare and haloes a bit but not the starburst at night and the strong reflection of sun on icicles and mirrors .
Avatar m tn I went to see some specialists in bone and soft tissue tumors over this weekend, and I was informed that I most likely never had an osteoid osteoma, but a stress fracture the whole time - and he had the imaging to prove it. So basically I had a stress fracture ablated. Now I understand this could delay healing of the fracture, because the ablation has just killed a large chunk of bone. I'm not looking for malpractice or anything - what's done is done. But I do want to get better.
Avatar n tn My left eye is over 500, my right eye less than 200. My vision with the glasses is 20/20. I'm about to pick up my new prescription, with the right eye less strong (that's the implant eye, which has improved). I know the discrepancy is part of my problem, but I'm not eager to have the second surgery till it's necessary. And you say it can be part of the dark adaptation/photosensitivity issue as well. Thank you for your time, Dr.!
Avatar n tn I had CK on my left eye 2 months ago, and it has created havoc in my life. Everything is blurry now, all the time. I wish I had tried a contact in my left eye for a month, but monovision has worked so well for friends of mine that I jumped into it. I was also treated for dry eyes at the same time. The dr tried temp plugs, they worked fine, but the permanent ones hurt so bad they had to be removed within 24 hours.
Avatar n tn Ejection fraction (EF) is a measurement of how well the heart is pumping. It represents a percentage of the total blood volume in the left ventricle that is pumped (ejected) with each beat of the heart. As with any pump not all of the liquid is pumped out with each cycle. Normal EF is in the 50-60% range. Values higher than this are termed "hyperdynamic", meaning that the heart is forcefully contracting. The lower the EF the worse the heart function.
Avatar f tn I have Complex PTSD from a childhood of neglect and abuse. Of course, with a background like that, my adult life has been rocky and tough, as well. However, my biggest troubles as an adult have been due to terrible chronic illness that doctors simply dismissed as psychiatric (I have a lot of anger and frustration about that.) By some miracle, I found an excellent therapist who specializes in PTSD. She clued me in to physical impact of stress and trauma on the body.
Avatar n tn I would recommend that your cardiologist hand measure this to ensure that this is a correct assessment. As well, we do not make a diagnosis of prolonged QT syndrome with a single QTc measurement and otherwise no other personal or family history or without finding other specific abnormalities in the ECG tracing, unless the QTc is severely prolonged (e.g. >0.50).
Avatar f tn At my last appt 2 weeks ago my son was measuring 2 wks bigger and weighed approximately 4lbs 10oz. Ill be 33wks tomorrow and my dr never said he was changing my due date, so we are still going with the one given to me at my 8w ultrasound (sept 27).
Avatar f tn You maybe but if the measurement was done using the fundal height your baby may have had a growth spurt, sometimes they measure smaller as well and in a couple of visits have "caught up"so to speak.
Avatar n tn I had several laser surgeries for old retinal tears and suspiciously weak areas, three, I think. Can these cause difficulties with dark adaptation?
Avatar n tn Usually this is due to the retina shifting from dark adaptation to light adaptation. There are many people who have posted similar observations. As long as it goes away in a few minutes it is rarely anything serious.
Avatar n tn As discussed many times it is usually entopic phenomena related to the retina/macula shifting from dark adaptation (scotopic) to light adaptation (photopic) and the differences in rates of the macula and peripheral retina in making these changes. Living in a simulation, too much late night sci-fi.
