Avatar m tn If you find a good massage person (think medical massage rather than slinky white robe massage), it can do wonders. Or a chiropractor? Icing and heat can help and I like some of the things like biofreeze, salon pas, etc. Arnica even can help. But really, massage saved me years back.

As Teak said, you were never at any risk of HIV, with double protection,,, (a condom on plus jockey cotton underwear) :-), though you do not need them in a full body massage unless you decide to "upgrade" the massage services. HIV only transmits via unprotected anal and vaginal sex when we talk about its sexual routes.

Avatar m tn s when I notice a swallowing bump on my right side of my back along my spine, it was also painful. Massage helped relaxing it and every time after the massage I was looking in the mirror and from the side it was visible that it's less inflammation. But that was only a temporary relief. I also had 2 weeks off work thinking that will help, but it didn't. In september 2010 found out about decompression and try that for 2 months, with no success.

Avatar m tn ve been told, is to work on the abdominal strength more, as they stabilize the hips and lower back. When your abdominals work together with all the core muscles they function together, instead of one part working (like your lower back only) which makes it sore, as they aren't strong muscles when working alone. When one area is unstable, it makes other muscles and muscle groups work more, causing more imbalance and pain. If you are a very active person, I would try to get into some yoga.

Avatar f tn Neither of these medications have relieved the symptoms and he back still hurts. About mid-week he started experiencing twitching in his lat, pec, tricep, bicep and elbow. A muscle will twitch for a few seconds and then start in another muscle. We have talked to one massage therapist and she said that he should have gotten muscle work done after the adjustment then followed with another adjustment.

Avatar m tn I injured my upper back about a month ago, had some massage therapies last week and the pain/discomfort was significantly decreased but today my pain is much worse. The therapist said that I pulled some muscles and i would feel better every day but now this... I havent stressed out the area since I m sitting or lying in bed almost all day. Is it normal for muscle pain to flactuate during recovery or is the injury worse? Should I do any stretches and how long should they take?
