I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.

Avatar m tn I had a wonderful chiropractor before I moved and he did a lot of massage techniques on me. It provided excellent relief of pain from the many inflamed bunches of muscles I have developed due to Lyme. However, on a couple of occasions I experienced a notable worsening of symptoms within hours of my treatments. He told me that the deep tissue work can stimulate the immune system and that could account for my experience.

Avatar f tn My sweet husband gave me a gift certificate for a hot stone massage and he even went ahead and made the appointment (I'm one of those people who never goes and then the certificate expires). Anyway, my appointment is this weekend. Do you think that I'm going to have trouble tolerating the heat? I take really hot showers and (to my knowledge) they do not seem to bother me, maybe just some mild blurred vision that quickly resolves. Thanks for any and all opinions!

Avatar n tn Hi, Headaches are a side effect of the drug clomid and this can be very severe and distressing at times. Temporary relief can sometimes be obtained by applying cold packs to the head or by massage or pressing in front of the ear on the painful side of the head. Stress management techniques, such as relaxation and massage, can also help limit pain. For relief of pain drugs like aspirin, acetaminophen or paracetemol can be used.
Avatar m tn i've been reading alot about peoples headaches and how they get them most days and put it down to all sorts of stuff. i've had a headache for 4 maybe 5years now constantly from the moment i wake up till the moment i go to bed. only time i don't have one is when i'm asleep. i've seen a head specialist and had a mri scan, and everything came back normal. they just told me it was a tension headache. they gave me pills what had no effect.
Avatar m tn I took her to a massage therapist next to have the vagus nerve massaged and her upper body was so tight that when the therapist touched the tight spots it made her head turn. Her upper body was unbelivably tight and may have been cause of the tension and shallow breathing she endured from the hernia. I see a chiropractor that used the popping technique cause I've found that the other techniques of tapping with a tool just don't work for us. Good luck.
