1184961 tn?1292574076 Yes & it does help, only it's expensive. My husband has been unemployed for 2 years so we have to cut back on expenses. I do get the massages when I can though. I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.

Avatar f tn With ankle replacement you can always strengthen your ankle by physiotherapy and have more range of movements than an ankle fusion procedure where arthrodesis is performed and the bones are fused. The pain will be less in fusion but with physiotherapy the pain will decrease over a period of time with ankle replacement. Ankle fusion can always be performed if ankle replacement fails. Take care!

Avatar f tn If the swelling is mild without any other symptoms this may be due to dependent or pressure oedema, which should get better in a few days with physiotherapy/ movement. In cases of more than mild swelling; causes like DVT, infections, inflammations, systemic issues related to liver, kidneys or heart may need to be considered. It would be best to get this evaluated by your doctor for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this helps. Take care!
Avatar n tn You also need a good sleeve and gauntlet to help keep the swelling down while you travel. They can also show you some manual drainage techniques and some pretty wicked bandaging to get the swelling down.

Avatar m tn I am okay with using the antibiotic to kill this bacteria but he also said he will need to do physiotherapy including prostate massage, and electrical stimilus. My questions are: 1) Can strong growth of Staphylococcus Aureus be only a simple Urinary Tract Infection, instead of a serious Prostatitis?
Avatar m tn Hi There, I injurred my shoulder in the summer of 2007 (diagnosed as rotator cuff related), and had physiotherapy and massage done on it for 5 months. The inury came on gradually but was most likely the result of weightlifting, although no one incident caused sudden pain. It developed and got worse over time. They both did not solve the problem, and I continued to experience pain.
Avatar f tn An EMG/NCV may need to be done to find out if there is a nerve compression or not. Traction, physiotherapy, massage therapy, acupuncture, exercise etc may help reduce the spasms and pain. Sometimes a reduction in vitamin B or D causes jolting pains and spasms and an already affected nerve is the first to show symptoms. Similarly, possibility of an autoimmune disorder, thyroid disorder or diabetes too should be looked into. Please consult your spine specialist with this MRI report.
Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.

Avatar n tn You may have muscle knots from tension. There are exercises to correct this. Pay attention to your sleeping position. Try ibuprofen. Get a friend to massage your neck, looking for knots to press. Go to YouTube looking for exercises for neck pain. Get referred to a physical therapist if this doesn't resolve.
