230972 tn?1224470126 One of my friends is in school to be a massage therapist and at his school they taught them that when a pregnant women came in to get a massage late in her pregnancy. they were not allowed to rub there feet in certain spots because it can cause pre term labor. I am not for sure the spots but I would definitely try to research it a little. Or just have DH give you a really good thorough foot massage. It cant hurt to try. Good luck.
Avatar f tn Do you know the stages of labour and what to expect in each and how long they typically last? If not read about them. Early labour, active labour and transition. And remember your body is made specifically to do this. It'll all be good.
Avatar f tn Ftm too and my goal is natural birth w/o medu! I'm sure it won't be pain free but it's all in your head. . I'm trying to learn breathing techniques and ways of thinking. .. ppl say our brain is stupid , you can trick it and make some things less painful (if it makes sense) :-) good luck to us!
Avatar f tn A membrane sweep is a way of bringing on labour when you're overdue. It'll be the first step your midwife or doctor offers, before other methods of induction, to get your labour going. Your midwife or doctor will carry out the procedure. During an internal examination, she will sweep a finger around your cervix (neck of your womb). This action should separate the membranes of the amniotic sac surrounding your baby from your cervix.
Avatar f tn Loads of YouTube videos on breathing techniques to help you breath through the pain in labour so they may also help with these practice ones. Maybe worth a look at. Just put in "breathing techniques during labour" and they should pop up for you.
Avatar f tn I looked it up because I was clueless and this is an answer a hospital midwife said when asked what it was. "A membrane sweep is a way of bringing on labour when you're overdue. It'll be the first step your midwife or doctor offers, before other methods of induction, to get your labour going. Your midwife or doctor will carry out the procedure. During an internal examination, she will sweep a finger around your cervix (neck of your womb).
Avatar f tn I was thinking of going natural but th more i thought about it n watching a labour video I've completely changed mind lol, what's th best thing to use while in labour what doesn't have bad side effects
Avatar f tn Anyone know any quick ways to help start me dilating I'm supposed to go back to skool the end of this month the 26th and I'm hoping to have her 2 weeks before I go back in,, so that leaves me with a week and a half to Have my babygirl. Any suggestions.???
Avatar n tn My go to is vocalizing the contractions. When you're dialating there's a lot of extra energy that I couldn't just "breathe" through, so I moaned through them. I told myself I could be as loud as I wanted but had to keep my tones as low as possible. The higher the tones, the more out of control I would feel. Two home water births and I'm planning for a third.
Avatar f tn Oh and the lotion smelt like it had mint in it. If that matters?
1209036 tn?1299178657 Honestly I did not plan on going all natural but was using the sitz bath for pain management before getting an epidural and it worked so well I went from 2 cm to 10 in 30 minutes. I moved around alot in there too. Tennis balls would be great for a massage on your lower back. For this baby I plan to go natural again and I think the tennis balls sound great! oh bring a bathing suit top if you can...
Avatar f tn t helped this time my partner massages my neck and back and this really helps he does it very firm but I have been told you are not to have deep massage as can induce early labour not sure how I will cope without them need some advice thanks leanne

Avatar f tn I've done it twice. It can be done and it's really not as bad as some people think (I had no tearing or stitches with either), but it's different for everyone. With the first I only pushed for about 15 minutes and with the second only about 12, but some women end up pushing for much longer (sometimes between 1-2 hours), it really just depends. Just got to rememeber to keep breathing in through the nose and out through the mouth!
Avatar n tn Some people say that certain pressure on the ankles or inner thighs or certain points in the foot can cause contractions or start labour. (There are people who offer labour inducing massage actually.) For foot massages I've heard to avoid them until after 12 weeks pregnant just to be safe since everyone is always so worried about miscarriage in the first trimester.
9693895 tn?1406125934 I am almost 40 weeks pregnant, and I'm trying to help my baby along by trying some inducing techniques. Ive been told she's too small and she's probably going to be late so I should try to help bring her along. I hope this isnt TMI, but I've tried Nipple Stimulation, 15 minutes on my left breast then 15 on the right, Ive also tried deeper sex, an orgasm, spicy food and pineapple. I felt nothing. Slight, and very light period-like cramping but thats it...
1184961 tn?1292574076 I have spinal stenosis & previously had lumbar laminectomy w/fusion in 2006. I currently have rods & 6 screws in place. two of the screws are broken. I went to a surgeon, different from the original one (due to insurance reasons),and he won't do anything because there's no way to know if the broken screws are the cause of the pain or not. I refuse to take anymore narcotics. I'm tired of living my life in a fog. And I'm tired of being in pain.
422823 tn?1229736847 The thing is I have a lot of trouble with my right ovary, it hasnt ovulated in eleven months. She started simulating that spot in my ankle using reflexology techniques (she showed me some literature on this that she had in a textbook), then just two days ago I ovulated on my right side!! This is a natural technique and I know that not everyone is in to that, but I honestly believe that this is helping me.
Avatar f tn I am so scared of labour and what to expect and what not to expect.
Avatar n tn you just mix "ghee" in warm milk , mix well and drink one cup daily , it will bring you labour , its realy useful in our countery
