Avatar f tn For the past 16 years till present I have been having regular massage therapy, physiotherapy and tried many acupunctures treatments, tunai (Chinese traditional massage and chiropractics) etc. I also learnt Pilates, Alexandra technique, TaiChi etc.. I have tried many treatments and pain managements methods including neural myotomy on my lower back. However my cervical injuries seem to have got worst over the years.
Avatar f tn I have whiplash from headbanging (i wont be headbanging any more) i had tingling in my left hand, but it went away. im 25, and on naproxen for about a month. I'm 2 and a half months into the injury and my neck still feels off. What should I do?
996946 tn?1503249112 Thank you so much for that suggestion. I know they do some massage with her, maybe they need to do that more often. They are first time parents and I know that in itself can be stressful and anxious.

1184961 tn?1292574076 Yes & it does help, only it's expensive. My husband has been unemployed for 2 years so we have to cut back on expenses. I do get the massages when I can though. I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.
Avatar f tn t necessarily feel good or bad at the time but was amazing from the standpoint of recovery. Look for this kind of massage therapist to help you.
Avatar n tn Think it would pay for you to look into either of these types of treatment. The massage may be a little less traumatic but if your neck has been in this condition for some time, you can expect to have a few days after treatment that are uncomfortable. Those muscles / ligaments ( whatever the condition ) have been in certin positions for a long time and do not like to be distrubed and made to adapt to change so they are in rebellion when first treated ( forced into new positions ).
Avatar f tn Ugh. I was in a car accident too and had whiplash. Soft tissue damage is difficult because it can last and last. In fact, my accident was over 20 years ago and I have more pain now than then. I would guess you have soft tissue damage. Perhaps a chiropractor could help you? I did massage therapy that was 'medical massage' and it did wonders. I also did physical therapy. These are options for this kind of thing and sooner is better than later in terms of working on it.
Avatar f tn I have a neck injury from whiplash in a car accident over 20 years ago. Good times. The muscles are crazy the way they are all connected. Releasing the back of the neck from your front muscles of your neck is common. I did medical massage which was a life saver, saw a chiropractor and did physical therapy. All helped significantly. I would consider getting a full evaluation.
Avatar m tn Sorry no one answered you. It's all intertwined. Muscles and nerves in that area. You could even have something like whiplash from the head slap and making your head bang in a certain direction. I'd ice it, take ibuprofen and make your partner pay for a massage for you. :>)) Anyway, this was a bit ago so hopefully all is well. I had a neck injury many years ago and it still plagues me with flare ups of pain and headaches.
Avatar f tn There I was diagnosed with musle spasms and a whiplash type injury. I was placed into physical therapy for 4 months and sent to a sports medicine doctor then recenly to a pain management doctor. The pain management specialist gave me a steroid epidural which has not helped one bit except now I have upperback pain as well. I have had xrays and a MRI which both say that I am fine. However, I continue to have neck pain and dibilitating headaches that make in hard for me to even function.

Avatar m tn I've been on 10mg.flexerill since 2014, due to car accident, and being diagnosed with" cronic whiplash syndrome". Because the neck & back pain & spasms. I was curious if any one out there was having opposite effects, as in "severe muscle constrictions"? As in waking out of a dead sleep, having to get out of bed, strech & massage out "charlie horse" or in this case, charlie calves,& forearms ? Very painful & scarey.

Avatar n tn i have been having upper lower middle back pain for 8 months .ive had a mri done catskan and ive seen a neurologist they said their is nothing wrong.
Avatar f tn Kegels multiple times a day. Practice breathing techniques. Practice meditation and visualization and relaxation. Walk every day. Squats every day. Have some Lavender and Clary sage essential oils handy to sniff on a cotton ball to relax. Perineum massage every day if you have a willing partner. (Pretty hard to do it yourself.) Best thing I suppose we can do is have our bodies and minds prepared. Do you know the stages of labour and what to expect in each and how long they typically last?
Avatar f tn What can i do? 8 months ago i had an accident and sustained a whiplash injury, all tests proves nothing but i am always in pain.the doctors now wants to tell me its psychological.
Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
Avatar n tn You also need a good sleeve and gauntlet to help keep the swelling down while you travel. They can also show you some manual drainage techniques and some pretty wicked bandaging to get the swelling down.
8594632 tn?1410183693 m a ftm so no but in mii lamaze class I had last week that was one of the techniques to start labor nd calm u during labor
Avatar m tn Also, there was a female doctor that sold a CD describing the proper techniques for this. Depending upon the technique done in your case, things should get back to normal fairly soon. If not, after a week, you should get checked out with your doctor or urologist.
82861 tn?1333453911 ll probably find that as even a quick, casual neck massage with your fingers results in the dog leaning into you and instantly relaxing into readiness for the full-body treatment. If you have a very active, hyper dog, massage is a great technique to calm them down. Massage also creates a unique bonding experience for both of you. Enjoy!
