Avatar f tn Yes try perineal massage with some olive oil. I would Google it on how to do it. Laboring in water can also help with the prevention of tearing. They don't always cut you when you're delivering, they only do it if they feel they need to. When I had my son, I tore a little but I didn't even feel it tearing, and they just stitched me up afterwards, no big deal. I'm pregnant again, I'm trying to research on techniques to prevent tearing, but if it happens it happens.
Avatar f tn Stress is no good for you or baby when pregnant as the adrenalin passes thru to your baby, can you find ways of aleviating your stress, rescue remedy from the bach flower range is safe to use when pregnant and you can get that from a health food shop, also look at relaxation techniques, warm baths, chamomile tea and pregnancy massage to aleviate your stress levels
1209036 tn?1299178657 t know how you feel come labor time, all your plans for during labor should be written in pencil. You may think you will love a massage with tennis ball for your back during labor, and then you can't stand to be touched! You won't know until you get there. Personally, my mantra was "natural, as long as I can". Especially during your first labor, you don't know what your tolerance for pain will be, so leave it open to change with your doctor.
Avatar f tn Hello Ladies! I had my "Febuary" baby 3 weeks early, January 27th. Labor was a little rough but with amazing labor and delivery staff, it was over before I knew it. I miss being pregnant already but I'm so glad I can stare at my son all day, he's so precious. Any who, I've decided to strictly bottle feed and now my breast are painfully engorged. What techniques have you ladies used to soothe this?
996946 tn?1503249112 Thank you so much for that suggestion. I know they do some massage with her, maybe they need to do that more often. They are first time parents and I know that in itself can be stressful and anxious.
1994124 tn?1422574099 My mom had 5 babies all under 5hrs of labor. I wish that was the case for me. I labored for 17hrs, hard active labor, never fully dilated, then babies vitals dropped, so an emergency C. Make sure when U check in to the hospital they are aware of Ur history of seizures, just so they can be prepared. I'm preparing for baby 3, & every pregnancy & birth has been so different.
Avatar f tn How do they know how much the baby weights?
Avatar n tn According to baby centre.co.UK You could try some natural techniques to speed your labour up: If you're lying on the bed, get up! Being upright and mobile may strengthen your contractions, while also helping you to cope with them. Take a walk to the toilet. A full bladder may slow down your labour by getting in the way of your baby's head descending. Get into a warm bath or birth pool. This can reduce your need for an epidural or spinal pain relief.
Avatar f tn Has anyone else used acupressure or reflexology as their form of pain relief for labor? What was your experience?
Avatar f tn I prepared a lot at home so that I could labor without pressure of the hospitals need for my room, by trying to rush the process with pitocin or constant offering of meds. Goranna is right your brain is capable of so many things including self hypnosis, self initiated pain management, partner refocus techniques etc...
7758733 tn?1402589420 Stitches were the worst part of labor and pregnancy combined, I know they say there are exercises or techniques to help prevent tears. Please tell me how! I ripped with my son 15 months ago and it will still hurt after sex so I feel more than likely to rip this time around. Which blows so I want to prepare.
Avatar f tn Do breathing techniques for labor actually help and work? I feel soo stupid practicing them lol. I just dont wanna keep practicing them if they dont really work all to well.
Avatar n tn You can google relaxation breathing for labor on YouTube. The key is to use breathing to relax yourself - because tensing up makes pain worse. Find a video you like, and practice it lots of times, imagining trying to make your mind and body relax. This is a skill that you can use for the rest of your life when you get tense or are in pain.
8462578 tn?1398296256 what are some things that worked for you to put you into labor?
Avatar f tn I took a class on relaxation techniques with my husband and the midwives and doulas were amazing! They had alot of massage techniques, yoga ball and even just how to relax. One lady was a lamaze instructor and even said that it doesnt work for everyone. That when it boils down to it, everyone labors differently and has different ways that make them feel empowered or relaxed. So Id say its up to you.
5149846 tn?1409405181 We learned about labor. What to expect , natural pain management (techniques for husband to do on wife... Like a pressure point on the lower back, etc...). We learned about pregnancy tea, perineal massage so you don't need an episiotomy & reduce chances if tearing. When to call (5-1-1) etc... It was quite informative.
Avatar f tn I had my mother and husband massage my back the entire time I was in labor. My mother finally went home and got a microwaveable heating pad. It was a life saver. My nurse was a huge help. She could tell when I was getting tired and made position change suggestions. It not easy but it can be done. Take labor one contraction at a time. Your body gives you a break between contractions. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn s just tough because I had been preparing for things and suddenly a wrench is thrown in. I was prepared for the possibility that once in labor something may happen that would change my plans, but wasn't planning on being induced at all, especially cuz my Dr doesn't like to induce unless necessary.
8071871 tn?1398900696 The skin around the opening, I think its called a perineum massage or something? Nope, she just literally poured it alllll over me down there while I was contracting and pushing. But I know a lot of women swear by perineum massages the last few weeks to prep body for the big stretch. You can try Googling it on different techniques.
Avatar f tn Was wondering what different natural labour techniques everyone is trying .. im looking into water births... relaxation music. .. can anyone give me other suggestions?
10391713 tn?1417827668 Its when you massage your nipple to get labor started
Avatar f tn WHAT KIND OF TECHNIQUES OR EXERCISE CAN I DO SO THAT I CAN GO INTO LABOR ILL BE 38 weeks Monday
230972 tn?1224470126 Thanks! I thought it was pretty funny to think of. Froggy~ Sometimes nipple stimulation can cause your uterus to contract which can help start labor. But if your early on in pregnancy dont worry about it. cause it's all part of the fun of having sex! I don't think it would bring on labor unless your body was ready for labor and you were having other signs of it. if you are far enough to have the baby safely, then you can always try getting a foot massage.
Avatar f tn Though what will probably help the most is to go see a chiropractor and masage therapis. No worry most chiropractors no longer do the pop techniques though they still do the best work. Some are even covered by medical care. Feel better soon. I know how much a crazy back pain can just pull you down.
Avatar f tn I find them pointless. Nothing can prepare you for your labor all labor stories are different. Some women just slip the baby out so it would be like what's the point and some women are in labor for 12hrs or more and nothing can prepare you for the pain.but that's just me.
