996946 tn?1503249112 Thank you so much for that suggestion. I know they do some massage with her, maybe they need to do that more often. They are first time parents and I know that in itself can be stressful and anxious.
1184961 tn?1292574076 Yes & it does help, only it's expensive. My husband has been unemployed for 2 years so we have to cut back on expenses. I do get the massages when I can though. I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.
Avatar f tn Have someone massage your hand between your index finger and your thumb. Then as they are holding your hand have them move upward to your forearm until you feel pain and have them gently massage that area. You carry a lot of stress in your arms, hands and your neck. You may need a neck massage also. Also try an ice pack on your head/ temples. I don't believe in taking medications during pregnancy. I hope these work for you. Good luck!

Avatar f tn Kegels multiple times a day. Practice breathing techniques. Practice meditation and visualization and relaxation. Walk every day. Squats every day. Have some Lavender and Clary sage essential oils handy to sniff on a cotton ball to relax. Perineum massage every day if you have a willing partner. (Pretty hard to do it yourself.) Best thing I suppose we can do is have our bodies and minds prepared. Do you know the stages of labour and what to expect in each and how long they typically last?
Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
Avatar n tn There are techniques to reduce noise sensitivity in children, I have been told they often work well on children. I know the autism center where I was diagnosed with Asperger has one of these machines, brand new machine they purchased a year ago.

Avatar f tn My 34 yr old husband has recently (in the last month) started having extreme headaches. He says that the are constant, sharp, pains. The location is from his shoulders up through his neck, continuing to the back of his head (about ear level) and goes around the sides. There's no pain in the top or front of his head. Our Dr. at first said sinus infection and gave 2 rounds of antibiotics. Then he said it was pre-hypertension with his blood pressure running about 135/90 and put him on b.p.

If you have a very active, hyper dog, massage is a great technique to calm them down. Massage also creates a unique bonding experience for both of you. Enjoy!

Avatar f tn Siting with a child and discussing his digressions inculcates guilt, which I think is harmful to a child's psyche. I would much rather get angry, ream him out, and get on with whatever we were doing. I have several children. Perhaps during their lives they have collectively received five smacks. These were for serious transgressions. I remember that one was for biting. Another was for trying out a nasty word on me. The other two or three I don't remember.

Avatar m tn I had a wonderful chiropractor before I moved and he did a lot of massage techniques on me. It provided excellent relief of pain from the many inflamed bunches of muscles I have developed due to Lyme. However, on a couple of occasions I experienced a notable worsening of symptoms within hours of my treatments. He told me that the deep tissue work can stimulate the immune system and that could account for my experience.
Avatar m tn Ask the masseuse to wear high heels, maybe touch/kiss heels and since Im paying anyway, get a massage anyway. I couldnt care less for massage, touching or vaginal/anal/oral sex (I do care about vaginal-sex but with my wife ONLY) I know Im not ideal or perfect but I want to get better- with communicating with my wife as well as my habits and priorities. Im here so I can write this and writing about it itself and have people comment about it a kind of therapy.
