Avatar f tn Would like to know if there is any massage techniques or pressure points to help relax my 15 month old. He is often moody and uptight,(lol) but honestly doesn't sleep well consistently and wld like to try anything.
Avatar m tn What are some coping techniques I can employ? I sometimes want to die because of this stuff and already have a serious mental illness I'm having to deal with alongside the PTSD and I'm supposed to be receiving therapy for this but I don't know when I will and need to know some things I can do to cope better until then.
Avatar f tn Just take it easy, I had a natural delivery and was up and about right after having her, but the Dr and hospital say no driving for a week (2wks for csection), no lifting over your baby's weight. Those college books are quite thick and heavy lol. Don't over do it. Remember every woman, every pregnancy, every delivery, every baby is different.
1994124 tn?1422574099 As far as the books n websites I have seen so far, the labor might be long only when the baby is not in anterior position. The anterior position is one in which the baby is head down facing your tail born. There are techniques with which you can bring into this favorable position. One of which is walking n others are some therapy, massage and exercises.. Here is the link for those exercises..http://www.babycenter.com/0_four-exercises-to-ease-aches-and-help-with-labor_1332762.bc..
Avatar f tn Im 5 weeks right now and this is my first pregnancy. Any good books that would help me out? I'm kind of a worry wart. I guess i just want to be prepared and help my body prepare. Thanks!
1184961 tn?1292574076 Yes & it does help, only it's expensive. My husband has been unemployed for 2 years so we have to cut back on expenses. I do get the massages when I can though. I wish I could get them on a regular basis. I failed to say that I also havae fibromyalgia so the massages does wonders for that when I can get them regularly. I haev 2 friends who are massage therapists who do give me discounts right now, so I am blessed in that respect. Thanks for reminding me of this.
Avatar f tn So to prepare myself for that I have been reading books on natural child birth and my husband and I have been practicing breathing and massage techniques whenever I feel pain of any sort so I can learn to have my whole body handle the pain and dissolve it.
Avatar f tn I went to one with my hubby for my first child. They basically show you breathing techniques, how to focus on other things besides labor pain. I guess basically how to mentally and physically deal with labor. They show you ways your partner can help with massage using different tools. We watched a birthing video and watched how to change a diaper and swaddled a baby. While learning how to cope with labor was interesting, I didn't use anythign but the breathing exercise.
Avatar n tn You also need a good sleeve and gauntlet to help keep the swelling down while you travel. They can also show you some manual drainage techniques and some pretty wicked bandaging to get the swelling down.

Avatar n tn I did not develop Lymphodema after my cancer treatment but because I was having radiation to the bowel, I was seeing a physio for prevention techniques to stop it happening and if it did happen how to manage it. (I had my pelvic lymph nodes removed during my hysterectomy). If you see your doctor and get him to refer you to a physiotherapist that is experienced in lymphatic drainage massage they will be able to show you and treat you with massage that you can actually do at home.
Avatar f tn Appreciate your websites, will have a look Interested in the books also.
Avatar n tn If you hve went through labor without an epidural wat was some techniques 2 help u get through it? How long where you n labor? I had an epidural with my 1st but think I wanna do it natural this time i was glued to the bed for 22 long hours with a epidural!
Avatar n tn There are study techniques that really improve memory. I don't quite understand what you mean by short term memory. Even the people that appear to glance at a word, and know it the next day use techniques to do so. And some superbright people can literally do just that. I think the main question is why post to an ADHD forum. If he has trouble memorizing because he can't concentrate (ADD/ADHD), that is very different than just having trouble memorizing.
Avatar m tn Another person can do it properly. Professionals can do a better massage. There are 4 types of massage. Two of them can be done by self. One is abdominal prostate massage and the other is anal peripheral prostate massage. Google the above words and if it resonate with you, do it, or discard it. you have not mentioned whether you have done with your fingers your with some device.
1687031 tn?1359653615 Bryan Rosner has put out quite a few books and videos and youtubes discussing alternative lyme etc treatments. He's not medically trained as far as I know but has put together some interesting data. I have a few of his many books, which seem to overlap at a certain level, and you might take a look at one called something like "top 10 lyme disease treatments" if yours interested in going off the allopathic track of lotsa antibiotics.
8963524 tn?1411060879 Really?
996946 tn?1503249112 Thank you so much for that suggestion. I know they do some massage with her, maybe they need to do that more often. They are first time parents and I know that in itself can be stressful and anxious.
Avatar f tn It was written by a pediatrician and deals specificially with soothing techniques for babies with colic. I can tell you that of all the baby books I read, this one was absolutely hands down the best and the most practical. Very simple soothing techniques and trust me, they worked. I highly recommend it. The other thing that worked really well for my infant was laying him on his back and gently bicycling his legs. It really helped move the gas. Best of luck.
Avatar f tn I took so many classes and read so many books haha. But they were all free, because my husband is military and I got them on base. They were seriously so helpful, especially if it's your first. I knew exactly what was going on my entire pregnancy from the knowledge I learned in classes and books. I probably won't take them again, but I'm so glad I took them with my first. But, I also know they are expensive!
446504 tn?1205256434 Doing regular exercise, relaxation techniques, warm shower and gentle massage can be tried. If there is no benefit, consult your doctor for an evaluation.
Avatar f tn Hey mommies I am a ftm but I already know I want a natural birth no meds the only thing is I have a low to medium tolerance for pain. How did you deliver naturally and what techniques did you use?
424861 tn?1203455151 some therapists do not know how to properly address fibro during massage so when youre mom is looking for a therapist she should call before hand and ask the therapist about her knowledge of the disease and treating it with massage techniques. if you have any questions please feel free to email me at ***@**** i am in spokane washington.
Avatar f tn It is also helping hubby understand what is going to happen during labor and what he can do to help. We went over breathing techniques to help with the beginning stages of labor, positions during labor, and tonight will be a breast feeding class. These aren't jus techniques for a natural birth, but for any birth in the beginning of labor, till your contractions are close enough and strong enough to head to hospital.
