Avatar f tn So I am 35 wks. I have had lots of back pain this whole pregnancy ! Sometimes to where my legs give out... would getting a massage this late in pregnancy be worth it ?
Avatar f tn Had the same...Chiro appt. Saved me followed by physical therapy and prenatal massages. I also use a massage roller on my bum and legs at night...the pain doesn't fully go away until you drop the load BUT these things make it much more manageable than it was with my first 2 pregnancies.
Avatar f tn t help me either, I layed over a birthing ball and had my bf use a paint roller to massage my lower back..
Avatar f tn It is similar to acupressure or a deep-tissue massage where a massage therapist will put pressure onto a knot to release it. Just like with deep bodywork, foam rolling may hurt but you will feel better afterward. Do foam rolling exercises daily and after a workout.
Avatar f tn I'm the same way. I've been swimming about every other day which really helps take the weight off and stretch my hips. I've also used heat on my glutes, used a foam roller, and done prenatal massage. A combo of everything really helps but I have to be consistent.
1471682 tn?1286812510 I have been experiencing an intense, burning pain in my upper back, underneath my left shoulder blade. This pain radiates up through the left side of my neck. This pain has been there for at least 3 years, in which during this time I have seen multiple doctors who don't have an answer for me. I have been referred and followed through with programs such as massage therapy & chiropractic services.
428506 tn?1296557399 t get up and move around like I should to get the pouchy fluid to leave, so in the morning after a hot shower, I lie down flat with my feet up in the air and massage my legs from ankle to knee, ankle to knee, just stroking firmly the muscles on my calf and then my shin, over and over for at least 5 minutes (longer is better) to help the fluid dissipate. If it's really badly puffy, I'll prop my feet up on the wall over the bed for a few minutes more, the higher the better.
Avatar f tn This message is for the people who: have been to their doc and they just keep giving you pain pills and scratching their heads; you've been to multiple people( neurologists, orthopedists, family physician, etc., etc,, etc..) and they don't find anything significant; you've had multiple tests (MRIs, cat scans, nerve conduction tests, etc.. and they pretty much come up clear OR your doctor has told you OR made you feel that THIS STUFF IS ALL IN YOUR HEAD! You're CRAZY.
Avatar f tn I take calcium pills (doc recommended)and then I always spray a lavender/chamomile aromatherapy sleep spray from bath and body works on my pillow and then stretch and massage my legs. It helps in the beginning to get to sleep. But if you find any other remedies im all ears.
2079321 tn?1333662977 It definatly is a roller coaster ride,,In the beginning my moods would change so fast I couldnt even keep up with them. Id be crying one minute and laughing the next. What I didnt realize at the time in those days was that I was reconnecting to my true self and feelings. I had numbed them for so long I forgot what they felt like. One day you have energy and the next you literally feel chained to the chair,,bed,,couch. Sleep when your body is ready and wants it.
Avatar f tn Everyone is different. This is my second pregnancy, my first one was 5 years ago and it is completely different. I've never been so emotional. Even my brother notices a difference. I can be completely happy one moment and the next someone could say something and I just start crying out of nowhere. I'm 10 weeks and hoping my emotions will get back to normal.
Avatar f tn I will bee going to disney and planned on going to universal studios which have many roller coasters. I am only 5 weeks pregnant. Is it ok if i go on the roller coasters?
Avatar f tn Going to take the kids to the amusement park this weekend. I love roller coasters. It says on most websites that they are dangerous for pregnant women. Im taking the safe route, im 10 weeks along. I wish I could go on them with the kids. I guess for this time I will have to live thru the kids. What other things are you sacrificing for your little baby bumps?
Avatar f tn Quick question ladies. So I believe that I'm ovulating within the next few days since I just got a lot of EWCM. This makes sense since AF is set to come June 6 assuming that my cycle is back on track. My dillema is, that my husband and I were planning to go the Busch Gardens June 6 for our anniversary. Sooooo, if I did conceive this month (this weekend) then that would put me at 4 weeks pg. Is going on the roller coasters then going to affect me??
Avatar f tn I am 7 weeks I REALLY want to go to an amusement park to get on. Roller coaster..ive heard it's not recommended but there is no proof of it harming a baby...Should I or should I not get on roller coasters?
Avatar f tn my NS as well said that I would need to avoid roller-coasters as well post-op....completely. The gravitational pull that goes along with roller coasters can cause the tonsils to herniate more and for the CSF to build up in the wrong places. Especially only 3 months post-op. IO know six flags is so much fun, but you may consider umniversal studios....it has lots of different rides that are not roller coasters, but that are ALOT of fun. THis is always our choice for this reason.
666921 tn?1254990618 I have been on one of those 'lyme roller coaster' days today - started off good - no pain/plenty of energy/no depression or anxiety, planned my day - then for no 'apparent' reason - pain/head pressure/blurry vision/calf and thigh pain/sick bloated feeling/etc,etc, - it was like all my muscles/tendons had tightened-up - it has eased a little now - ugh!! needless to say my day went 'pear shaped' - a bit like my body - esp. since lyme!!
772910 tn?1249563035 My period was due today, but nothing yet. Since my temperature has been dropping steadily over the past few days, I'm sure it's a no, but...just in case, does anyone know anything about first trimester and roller coasters? I've read about dangers later on, but are Disney rollers coasters rough enough to hurt a "maybe" five week old embryo?
Avatar f tn Ok so ive read & heard that pregnant women shouldnt ride roller coasters after the first half of the first trimester, but does that also include the rides that arent so jerky?? Is it safe to ride the ones that arent wild and dont pull & jerk you around too much?? See we're ((my family & friends)) going to Busch Gardens next weekend...ill be about 8 weeks...and i was just curious to see if anyone has ridden rides around that time of your pregnancy??
470885 tn?1326329037 t gotten a medically professional opinion (i have light varicose veins in the area, as well, but neither my dermatologist or massage therapist had much to say about any of it). I haven't really experienced cellulite, per se, but I have been wondering if that's what it could be, because the skin feels more spongy to the touch in that area, and if pressed against, the slightly visible dimples become much more pronounced -- moreso than anywhere else on my legs.
Avatar f tn Just doing little things like laundry or making meals is a huge help. Offer to give her a massage every now and then.
