Avatar m tn i keep getting painful knots that appear in different places on my body. one day there might be one on top of my foot and on my ankle and on my hand. they stay for a week or so then they move somewhere else. they are painful to the touch and they skin is sometimes red where they are. the knots are hard. the one on my ankle has been there the longest and my whole ankle is swollen. as the day goes on and im on my feet the swelling will get worse is some of the places.
Avatar f tn I have had the knots. My massage therapist that I have had for 8 years, and I was referred to by my rheumatologist, showed me how to take care of them using trigger point therapy. For those I can't reach, I have taught my husband how to do them, otherwise the massage therapist takes care of it. What I think it is, some type of fluid from the disorder that gathers in sacs. Doing the trigger point therapy releases it. That is my perception and nothing medical.
Avatar f tn I am taking progesterone in oil and have painful knots on both hips. I apply heat after each shot which seems to help the immediate pain. Do any of you have suggestions as to how to make the knots go away or at least make them less painful?
715004 tn?1309077280 The Dr. examined me and told me that my neck, shoulders and back had so many knots in them that it was as if someone had fired a shotgun at it and everywhere the pellets hit a knot formed and grew. One he lovingly called Mount Everest. He told me, given my history these have been here for MANY years. In addition, my atlas is rotated and "kicked back", too.
1722761 tn?1309823747 Get the knots out, practice good body mechanics, listen to the advice of your massage therapist for self-care and hopefully you will avoid the pain and limited range of motion as you get older that so many of us live with because we didn't know how to lift properly ourselves. I can understand your concern, so do something about it, but I don't think anxiety is your issue. Let us know how you're doing, OK?
Avatar n tn I seem to have developed knots on my calves and hamstrings. I can hardly walk up stairs with my right leg, the calf is so sore and weak.Went for a deep tissue massage, and she had me in tears from trying to smooth out all of the knots.I have mild adema in both legs.Any connection? I am buffaloed, so is my oncologist and massage therapist.I am a multiple cancer survivor.
Avatar f tn Under wire bras cause that a lot. The remedy is honestly to sit there and massage the knots out, it will probably hurt like hell as they release the backup of milk, but it should help when they are gone with the pain.
Avatar m tn I have suffered for many years with leg pain, knots in my leg muscles and sore feet. When I sit for a time the backs of my legs become sore and make it very uncomfortable to stay sitting. I might add that I have driven trucks most of my life. I have been told this is called blood pooling. When I am active, walking or just moving about my leg muscles get sore. It seems like I have tried about all of the remidies that have been tossed about. Tried Calcium, magnesium, massage, B- vitimans.
Avatar f tn Hi all. I'm curious if others suffer from what seems like a muscle knots in the shoulder blade area. Since I became ill with Lyme, I have noticed trigger points in my back that send weird sensations down my arms. It almost feels like an electrical like sensation that drives me crazy. I have tried going to a chiropractor and am currently trying some physical therapy with massage. Nothing seems to really help.
914427 tn?1243054891 i have just recently had a massage...and i now know something is REALLY wrong because when the therapist found my knots she said "holy ****!!!! what is that!?" the massage has set off the pain again btw. someone please help me! i can't deal with the back pain anymore! i have forgotten what it feels like to NOT be in pain.
Avatar f tn I've had facial tingling/numbness on my right side of my face that intermittently shows up. This has been going on for over 2 years and no it's not Bell's palsy. I've noticed that it typically happens after I've driven in the car for over 45 minutes and get out of the car. Then boom all of a sudden half of my face is numb and tingling. Lasts about 1 minute..I also have neck pain all the time. I'm talking big knots in my neck and shoulders all the time.
Avatar f tn Your walking incorrectly as the bodies way to protect your injured foot has possibly put you in the cycle of muscular imbalance. Physical therapy can help you regain strength, BUT what many PT's and Drs fail to address is possible muscle knots that will intervene with the healing and strengthening process - thus the pain continues.
Avatar f tn If there are knots in your muscles and the massage "dissolved" them that puts toxins into your body. My chiropractor always tells me to drink lots of water to help clear the toxins after he "releases the knots". But all in all your sick feelings sound right on after the shots.
Avatar n tn Pay attention to your sleeping position. Try ibuprofen. Get a friend to massage your neck, looking for knots to press. Go to YouTube looking for exercises for neck pain. Get referred to a physical therapist if this doesn't resolve.
Avatar m tn Hi, all these hard lumps in people's necks seem to be trigger points - muscle knots that can become as hard as rock with time. Knots in the scalene muscles in the neck can cause pain and numbness in the arm and fingers. I am a singer and have been trying to remove these knots in my neck with self-massage for almost 2 years. I have massively improved the situation, working on one side more than the other to have a comparison.
1194772 tn?1309578232 I have had these painful knots in my neck and in the trapezius area for a couple years but it just getting worse. I have tried everything to take the pain away from steroid injections, botox, PT, massage, acupuncture and muscle relaxants. Lately with all my worries about MS the stress is making the spasms worse. I don't know if this is any way related to my possible MS diagnosis.
Avatar m tn The rash could be a simple reaction to any massage oil she used and the "knots" could be swollen glands which would indicate a possible infection that could have been in your body before you ever saw this woman. Your anxiety is not helping and I repeat, see your doctor. He/she is the only one who will be able to diagnose what is going on.
Avatar n tn I had a breast implant operation done in August this year and my left breast healing normal, but my right breast anytime I give my self the massage a few little knots appear under the skin, is not painful, but I am worried, and the thing about it is that I got the procedure done in Venezuela and I live in Trinidad so I cannot see my doctor, I will like to know if this is something serious.
Avatar f tn I'm so trying all of those things thanks girls
Avatar m tn I have myofascial pain syndrome as well as a list of other serious back conditions and self accupressure helps much more than a massage. Even a deep tissue massage cannot get the knots out. Only self accupressure can. If you google "Theracane", a lot of good info will pop up on how to order one so that you can start this therapy. Myofascial pain syndrome is caused by tight bands of muscle tissue that send radiating pain throughout the back and into the neck or shoulders.
Avatar m tn I recently went for a massage, the lady was fully clothed, I was naked. She massaged me very aggressively and i was stressed and felt like I had allot of knots and it would help. She offered a happy ending but I declined, she did stroke my penis about 4 times while trying to get the deal so to speak. About 2 days later i had a couple of blisters appear on my buttocks.
1088646 tn?1256949923 Also, look on the internet how to give your self gentle massage. Basically massage your neck area very gently so as not to bring on a migraine or headache with opposite hand to opposite side of neck. So left hand massage right side of neck very gently and then do the other side. For your upper back put pillow on your bed. Place your upper back on the pillow so your head is hanging off the pillow. Arms out to the side. This gives you a good stretch through your chest and upper back.
Avatar f tn m having terrible neck and shoulder pain, only upon bending neck and shoulders backwards. Had deep tissue massage yesterday, and therapist said I had the worst knots and tension she had ever seen. I'm a 28 up female. Said my pain is probably muscular. Could it be arthritis? I'm confused... Impression: arthropathy mildly narrows the neural formania on the right c3-c4 and the left c6-c7.
