Avatar f tn I am 52 years old with Stage 1 breast cancer. I have had a lumpectomy and 4 lymph nodes removed. My tumor was less than 1 centimeter, and the cancer had not spread to the lymph nodes. My oncologist ordered an oncotype DX test. My score is 23. The test said that my cancer had an average rate of distant recurrence of 15% with Tamoxifen alone (although I might be given Femara). I thought those were pretty good odds.

Avatar n tn I have been diagnosed with HER 2 and estrogen positive breast cancer and been treated with chemotherapy and Herceptin. My oncologist has recommended a five-year treatment of Femara; however, I have high blood pressure (norvasc), osteopena (sp) and high cholesteral (pravachol). 1585723 tn?1296821612 I'd like to pass on some results I've had since drinking green tea. When I was first diagnosed with hcv, my liver panels indicated alt=90 and ast=66 so I consider this kind of a baseline. At one point I started taking a bunch of vitamins and supplements which made my enzymes shoot up to alt=167 and ast=105. Pretty sure that was too much to start with all at once so I quit everything and the enzymes started to come down. Alt came down to 121 ast=73.
Avatar n tn i had breast cancer 15 1/2 years ago and a radical mastectomy (14 lymph nodes removed) - I am on hormone therapy and had chemo & radiation at the time of diagnosis. Now, recently, I have been experiencing an extremely itchy chest where the mastectomy was performed and from scratching have slight sores and redness. If I leave it alone it goes away but returns in about 2 weeks, again extremely itchy. I went for an exam and my doctor wants me to go for a biopsy to play it safe.

Avatar f tn No surgery is 100% safe, however, you have to weigh the risk of the surgery vs the benefits. The benefits in this situation outweigh the risks in my opinion. Furthermore, a mildly to moderately regurgitant valve is not a serious contraindication to any surgery. I would suggesting going ahead with the surgery.
Avatar m tn Magnesium benefits? Where should we start? With reduced risk of cognitive decline? Or maybe… * Promotion of strong bones in postmenopausal women * Heart health support * Management of C-reactive protein (a key marker of inflammation) * Maintenance of tooth enamel Clearly, magnesium is a nutrient you don't want to get caught short on. Especially because magnesium has an important type 2 diabetes connection, which in turn has a gallstone connection.
