1583834 tn?1296685960 Aromatherapy, massage, acupuncture, reiki anything that can help with symptoms great. As far as helping the disease these are all anecdotal. Most have been scientifically studied. I have tried most. I do use hypnosis for stress and pain management. Exercise such as yoga is known to help symptoms as well.
Avatar f tn On Ess's advice I'm trying this again with more clear wording. :) I hadn't meant to imply "alternative to DMD" but additional therapies. Does anyone use any *complementary* therapies? Have you had postive results with them? I'm asking because the TN and occipital neuralgia pain had gotten so bad I was having a lot of muscle tension in my neck and back from the pain. I decided some massage therapy couldn't hurt and might help.
Avatar f tn Chiropractors treat pregnancy sciatic pain all the time. That's where I would go!
644113 tn?1223821962 Has anyone ever tried anything as simple as massage therapy to control your pain?? I've had clients come into my office with such pain that they could hardly function.....they've gone through testing of all kinds...x-rays, scans, mri's blood testing and nothing could explain the chronic pain.......muscles can cause a tremendous amount of day to day pain and trigger points can create an amazing array of symptoms.
Avatar f tn I am thinking about seeking treatment but wondering if people see chiropractors or massage therapist for sciatica pain. I do not have extended benefits so i will be out of pocket the money which is why i wont be able to do both! Fyi i wont take drugs as an option. I appreciate any opinions!
Avatar f tn The chiropractic services are dedicated towards providing personalized chiropractic treatments, massage therapy and acupuncture benefits to patients depending upon individual needs.Laser therapy is also used in some of the cases.
7131686 tn?1390054441 Massage has many benefits and can be great for all different kinds of pain that may come with pregnancy! I would try a massage (perfectly safe in any trimester), have the therapist work your neck and shoulders, it could help a tremendous amount.

Avatar f tn All of the risks outweighs the benefits in my mind. Therefore I am considering sticking to just Demerol via IV. I have a very high pain tolerance so I think this will be enough for me. However, my best friend also just recently graduated school as a massage therapist and studied a lot about reflexology and acupressure. Which is known go be a great form of pain relief.
Avatar f tn For the past 16 years till present I have been having regular massage therapy, physiotherapy and tried many acupunctures treatments, tunai (Chinese traditional massage and chiropractics) etc. I also learnt Pilates, Alexandra technique, TaiChi etc.. I have tried many treatments and pain managements methods including neural myotomy on my lower back. However my cervical injuries seem to have got worst over the years.
525564 tn?1215559383 but would still like to make sure that this is normal. Also, I was advised to massage the areas that I had done. Is that really helpful?
Avatar m tn Magnesium benefits? Where should we start? With reduced risk of cognitive decline? Or maybe… * Promotion of strong bones in postmenopausal women * Heart health support * Management of C-reactive protein (a key marker of inflammation) * Maintenance of tooth enamel Clearly, magnesium is a nutrient you don't want to get caught short on. Especially because magnesium has an important type 2 diabetes connection, which in turn has a gallstone connection.

Avatar f tn I spent the past week on the phone trying to get my benefits, they wanted my landlord to sign saying where I live and how much rent I pay, my boss to send in unemployment verification, copies of my utility bills, I mean the list went onnnnn. Im applying for food stamps and temporary cash assistance though because I haven't worked in months! The process is so ridiculous, like I had to pay 20 $ at ups to fax in all the paper work! It shouldn't cost me money to get help!
Avatar n tn Sure you can use rogaine. The only problem with it is you only get the benefits while using it. If you quit you lose the benefits. Just out of curiousity why did you post this on a men's health site? Another note though? The gene for hair loss is on the x chromosome so unless your mom and dad both have hair loss, or unless your undergoing chemotherapy you should visit a doctor ASAP!
