20831008 tn?1527294114 CT Scan showed cysts that could be hemmoragic. US showed no normal ovarian tissue. Gynecologist guessed dermoid cyst. MRI with and without contrast thinks fibrous or other low grade neoplastic etiology. This is a joke right? Gun wants to take both ovaries. I said I will call you. I am not going to do anything. Can you tell I don't trust the medical establishment?
Avatar m tn The blood work came back negative but because I am post menopausal and the ovarian cyst is complex they have referred me to a specialist for removal. The doc is a GYN/ ONCOL . They have reassured me they don't " think" it's cancer but in case it is they pprefer the specialist remove it. I'm confused and nervous... Has anyone else had their doctor talk out of both sides of their mouth? Thanks guys.
Avatar f tn Has anyone downloaded the book "Ovarian Cysts No More" and used the program? Is it a scam or is it worth trying? I have a very large cyst and my appointment with the surgeon is still two weeks away. I am desperate to do anything in the meantime that could help shrink this cyst.
187666 tn?1331173345 When it comes to ovarian cancer size is no indication on whether it is benign or not. I had several large tumors over 15cms and many more small ones in the 3 cm range. Also was full of what they said looked like grains of rice.. all cancerous... I know that cysts can be cancerous or usually benign but size is not an indication.
Avatar n tn Many women have cysts and never know it because they have no pain and the cysts are functional cysts and go away on their own. I have had those myself. I would follow the doctors advice and check again in one cycle. Good luck!
Avatar f tn William Parker who uses organ-sparing procedures says that post-menopausal ovarian cysts are more common than many realize and MOST of these cysts are benign (just as they are in premenopausal women) and do not require removal of ovary(ies) IF you have the right doctor.
198460 tn?1264872267 Hi, I was diagnosed with an ovarian cyst on my right ovary about two weeks ago. My cyst has "junk" in it, but is not very large. Doc did a CA125 that came back 9.5 and now I am just waiting for my follow up TVUS to monitor the cyst. That should be in a couple more weeks. IN the meantime, today I just noticed blood in my urine! I am supposed to start my period any day now, but this is different and I am almost positive it's from my urine, not my period.
Avatar f tn Hi there, Many of the symptoms you list are applicable to both conditions. I had bilateral ovarian masses and I had every symptom you list above and more. I also had pelvic pain, back pain, irregular periods to name a few. My ovaries were filled with hemorrhagic cysts, serous cysts, endometriomas and a large mucinous cystadenoma. Just a downright mess all around. How are you doing?

Avatar f tn At the beginning of the month I had a sexual encounter with someone. We didn't have penetrative sex, but he did grind on me around my genitals with his. I have read so many mixed reviews about if you can become pregnant from this or not. Since then I have contracted a Urinary Tract Infection and a "big *** ovarian cyst" according to my doctor. I have been experiencing a few early signs of pregnancy, but they are also symptoms that come along with UTI's and ovarian cysts.

Avatar n tn I have been experiencing severe pain and discomfort from a combination of ovarian cysts and fibroids for 3 years now. I was treated with birth controls pills and then steroids and nothing has worked. I just got back the results of my most recent ultrasound. I have 2 cysts on an ovary and 2 fibroids. The doctor has talked to me about a myomectomy option vs. hysterectomy for the fibroid removal. I don't know which way to go on this.
543028 tn?1282428826 I found a study where women who have had this operation are more likely to have large ovarian cysts. I was shocked. There is so much about the human body that medicine does not yet know. Everything is so connected. I visit an acupuncturist and am so surprised at how Chinese medicine really works with these connections.
1667689 tn?1303337973 Many of these things are intermitten and not constant so I have not been too worried. They are becoming more frequent, I am still assuming that this is just an ovarian cyst but just don't know how urgent it is for me to get it checked out. Currently, I have no health insurance which makes the matter a little more difficult. I am looking into some of the clinics that take patients with no insurance in my area.
Avatar f tn It's hard to believe that cysts can cause that much pain and discomfort, huh? Well, unfortunately for us, they can. At least you already know that they're just regular fluid filled cysts and still rather small. You need to talk to your doctor to see what medication is right to help shrink them. He/she is going to have to monitor them and schedule for an ultrasound every so often to see if they are in fact shrinking or growing.
483733 tn?1326798446 m seeing a lot of new forum members posting the same questions on both the Ovarian Cancer and Ovarian Cysts forums. There is no need to do this. Just post on the Ovarian Cyst forum as you are going through your testing and diagnosis, etc. and then on the Ovarian Cancer forum only if, God forbid, you not one of the 95% benign club. Many of the members on this forum and many on the Ovarian Canacer forum visit both and will ensure your questions will be addressed.
Avatar f tn I just typed in "Ovarian Remnant Syndrome" in the search engine on the upper right side of Medhelp forums and got 85 "hits" to read. I have heard of this..it is rare, but can happen when microscopic cells get left behind. Sometimes cysts can grow on these remnants. And, sometimes estrogen can get pumped out of those cysts or ovary cells left behind. But, bear in mind that the fat in our bodies do emit a by-product that is a type of estrogen called Estrone.
Avatar n tn Most ovarian cysts resolve on their own within a few cycles / months, no intervention needed. According to this doctor-authored website - http://ovaryresearch.com/ovarian_cysts.htm - hemorrhagic cysts always resolve on their own. The cyst isn't that big either. The 1.5cm one is "tiny" and it's not uncommon for cysts that appear to be complex to end up not being so (such as your other one that is "likely hemorrhagic").
Avatar f tn Development of cysts is a normal part of the menstrual cycle. But sometimes the cysts grow and hang around longer than normal which can cause symptoms. Typically, these cysts resolve on their own within three cycles / months which is why the standard of care is to just give them time and then recheck. Pain can sometimes be felt throughout the pelvis, not just on the side that has the cyst. Ovarian cancer is rare in women who do not have a genetic predisposition / family history.
1820675 tn?1317183244 I explained to him that i was having very heavy painful periods and that i had a history of ovarian cysts and had even had 2 periods in one month a cpl times. So the original plan was to take everything but he informed me today he left my ovaries. Now i'm trying to find out if i will still have a period since i have my ovaries and if this means that i am still at risk for ovarian cancer & cysts?
1550253 tn?1359048669 I've always had menstrual issues...it comes with the territory of having PCOS and hypothyroidism. But I am on birth control to regulate my periods...but even then, my periods are still a bit wacky, it seems. Like, right now...I was supposed to have my period this week...but it hasn't shown up yet at all and I'm starting my new pack today. But that happens often...where my period won't show up until a couple days into the new pack.
Avatar f tn HI, Cramps associated with scanty bleeding can indicate an ectopic pregnancy or pelvic infection or ovarian cysts etc. Examination and ultrasound scan will help make the diagnosis. Check out with your Doctor. Hope this helps.
Avatar m tn In women before 50 and in men before 60. You are even less likely to have ovarian cancer at your age. It is more likely in women over 50. Your doctor is doing the standard testing which is very good. Many women are on birth control to regulate periods. Yes you could have this cyst removed but there are risks with every surgery and in this case the benefit may be much less than the risk. Many women, as did I, end up with Polycystic Ovarian syndrome.
