Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica you love

lyrica

Avatar m tn I know that it is usually recommended that you taper off of Lyrica. It can have so pretty nasty withdrawl symptoms. If you are having swelling in your feet, this could be caused by many, many different things. It might just be a coincidence that it started around the time you stopped the medication. Please go see your doctor about this. It's always better to be safe than sorry. Good luck to you!
680499 tn?1233851308 I have tried lyrica 3 times in the past 2 years. The main reason for stopping was the cost.I did not feel any dramatic decrease in pain while using it and yes I gained 20 lbs.
Avatar f tn Tahiri - You stated in another post that Lyrica is a dangerous drug. Can you give more info? My dr has just prescribed this for me neuropathic pain - I have fibromyalgia. I like to be informed so any info about Lyrica that you can share would be great! Thanks so much!
Avatar n tn You go through w/d on lyrica? Its not an opiate. ???? What is a dose amount for pain?
Avatar f tn I am supposed to take 3 Lyricas (90 mg each) a day: a.m., noon, and pm. But because I am an addict and dumb, I started taking 6 at one time because it makes me high. So I took anywhere from 12 to 18 a day. Now I am out and feel horrible. I already withdrew from oxys and that was the worst of the worst. But I didn't know Lyrica would cause withdrawal symptoms. Have you ever abused Lyrica? Thanks for writing back. I really appreciate it.
Avatar f tn You could start to reduce the lyrica but start tapering the tramadol properly and then tapering the lyrica (I believe lyrica may take a bit more time and discomfort than the trams but that's just my personal opinion). How much do you take how often and since how long?
723959 tn?1314744225 Some claim it is addictive. I took/take something similar and although it is non-narcotic it can be so-called addicting. If it works.......who cares?......It's not an opiate and you shouldn't experience any opiate-like withdrawals if you stop taking it, but as Avisg stated...You will have to taper it if you decide to stop taking it. I stopped Neurontin at a pretty high dose, and was ok, but I wouldn't recommend it.
669241 tn?1236264344 Do any of you know if Lyrica is addicting? I suffer from class 2 Diabetes and I'am taking Lyrica for problems with foot discomfort. I was told that It may be addicting, But because it was a new med, that proof of that was not out yet. Any info on this would be helpful.
2107676 tn?1388973859 I know you will get the love and support you need to help you get through this! This forum needs you and has greatly missed your support and good advice and sense of humor! Take care, I've always got your back! You will get through this!
Avatar m tn You will be Ok just uncomfortable. Since you are having to take more pills than the 4 you are prescribed a day can you discuss with your doctor adjusting the dose so that you dont have to take more and wont run out. Im sorry that your in pain. Let us know what we can do to help!
Avatar n tn I hope the lyrica helps...there really are not too many options really. If the lyrica only helps a very little bit, then I must find a way to cope with the remaining pain or continue on the percocet and get even more dependent.
Avatar n tn As long as you continue taking your prescribed amount you will be absolutely fine. What dpse are you on? I actually found that the lyrica helped alot with the H/oxycontin withdrawals along with clonidine and benzos those helped tremedously in relaxing my letgs and made me feel a little better but i never felt like I needed like the opiates or benzos for me, and since getting out of detox i ahvent taken it.
Avatar n tn I'm using it currently, I've had very VERY minimal side effects and it helps my pain a lot! Don't be scared, be cautious! If you feel that it isn't working with you then you can always discuss it with your doctor to take you off the medicine! It's always good to be cautious but if you're scared, you could miss out on a very wonderful medicine that could dramatically change your pain!
Avatar f tn Hey Guys- I had a Dr. prescribe me some lyrica and gave me some free samples too. It's mainly an anti-seizure medication and also used for nerve pain. Alot of people use it for fibro-myalga. I would LOVE some relief from the aches and pains and cloudiness- but does anything think/know if this will help at all? Thank you!
Avatar f tn ve given you Topamax instead too?) After even the first dose, I FELL IN LOVE with Lyrica! Went home that night and turned on every high powered light (that I had been avoiding for LONG time) and just looked at them so thankful that it didn't hurt to do so! Also, drove that night (had been avoiding that for quite a while) and was so thankful that I didn't have to wear sunglasses and turn the mirrors up to avoid the headlights!
195469 tn?1388322888 If there are any members that have had experience with Lyrica, would you be so kind as to let me know your thoughts and reactions to the drug? This is no better information I believe, that I can get, than from someone that has actually used the drug for pain. I appreciate it.
Avatar n tn But I love popcorn. I was told that I cannot eat popcorn because it will stop lyrica from working.
1291268 tn?1274810922 DON'T DO IT. I am a Lyrica survivor. There are others on the Lyrica Survivors page on Facebook. I'll send you a message with a link to check out as well.
669241 tn?1236264344 Are any of you taking opiates for fibro pain ? I'am taking lyrica , but they have mentioned opiaates.
1334998 tn?1300674856 mommies4 - I saw in your other post that you were on Lyrica, but didn't know what it was. I just looked it up and I see that it is to treat "neuropathic pain" and is used in the treatment of fibromyalgia. In your other post, you describe all sorts of symptoms, and ask if hypothyroidism could cause them. Have you actually been diagnosed with fibromyalgia?
Avatar n tn It is very dangerous to suddenly stop taking Lyrica. You need to phase down slowly over 60 to 90 days. If you come off of it that way there are no withdrawel symtoms. Best of luck.
398624 tn?1266269449 Lyrica is prescribed for GAD. It could work for you. I have no personal experience with this med. Hydroxyzine Pamoate is interesting. Haven't heard about it before. It is unrelated chemically to the benzodiazepines but works to suppress certain regions of the subcortical area of the CNS(which is the area of the brain associated with anxiety par exellance!) Yes, very interesting. I will certainly read more about this drug. Don't have the time right now.
