lyrica

Avatar n tn 12, because ibuprofen thins the blood,I need to get off it at least a week early so they prescribed lyrica , it does help on the constant pain but not quit as good as ibuprofen did for me
736862 tn?1232080925 150 - 225 mg daily. Sometimes I also add 400 mg ibuprofen if I need more help. Any ideas as to the rash?
Avatar f tn ve had severe chronic pain since 1983 and was diagnosed with HCV in 1986 and with cirrhosis in 2004. Before my liver got so bad I used a variety of different pain meds, but have had to be way more careful since 2004. For the last year I've been using Opana (oxymorphone) ER twice daily and a small dose of oxymorphone IR for breakthrough pain. It has worked well for me, contains no acetaminophen, is okay with my hepatologist, and has fewer supply hassles than OxyContin did.
Avatar n tn I've been treated for SLE for more than 5 years taking 400mg daily of hydroxchloroquine, acetaminophen and vicodin 5/500 2 daily. I cannot take ibuprofen due to kidney disease, although it was the best pain reliever. About a year ago I was diagnosed with peripheral neuropathy. The worst pain ever. 6 months on Nortriptyline, several on alpha lipoic acid, now on Lyrica. Lyrica works! Still numb but pain relief.
Avatar f tn Hello, I am sorry to hear about your pain. I began my struggle with pain when I was 17 as well, so I know what you are going through. What if anything has the doctors offered you for pain relief? Have you tried physical therapy or any exercise programs? When I was 17 I was just given Ibuprofen and that of course didn't do anything. You may want to ask for Lyrica or Neurontin in addition to some PT. That seems to be very helpful for Fibromyalgia and Lyrica is approved for Fibro.
Avatar f tn i was diagnosed at the beginning of the year with fibromyalgia. dr. gave me lyrica samples and it was like a wonder drug. the pain was minimal and my afternoon exhaustion was gone. i went to fill the prescription and the insurance denied coverage and said it was "experimental". now, my dr. was not 100% certain that it was fibro. he said that i had a lot of sensory issues that made him under sure. i think that is why the insurance denied coverage. soooo, he tried me on gapapinten.
Avatar n tn There are some pains, like headache and muscle aches that go along with the fibro that will only respond to the ibuprofen. Any type of ibuprofen works well for me, even the generic types that are sold by stores like WalMart.
Avatar f tn Post surgery I had a few complications including nerve damage in my leg and pelvic arthritis. I was on percocet lyrica and cymbalta. Once the nerve damage got better I stopped the lyrica and cymbalta. After going back to work after surgery, I was afraid of taking percocet (im a teacher) so the dr gave me tramadol. 2 weeks ago I had steroidal injections in my pelvis and asked for something stronger because the tramadol wasnt working.
1378325 tn?1285346625 Have you tried the fibro meds like Lyrica, Cymbalta or Savella? I have had a lot of relief from Lyrica and did not sleep well until I started it. D-Ribose (only when I remember to take it) really helps. An excellent multi-vitamin, vitamin D, C0Q10, selenium and fish oil may also help. Not sure what pain relievers you have tried but do be aware that Tramadol doesn't work for everyone. It does nothing for me. I take ibuprofen and Tylenol 3's as needed. I hope you find some relief.
Avatar f tn Nothing of significance in the area I am experiencing pain/discomfort. Lyrica has helped but hast taken away the burning/pinching. Ibuprofen/muscle relaxers only occasionally help. Any ideas out there?
761423 tn?1237203290 Should I do that since it also is for depression or just ride out the Lyrica? What are your experiences with these drugs? I also have osteoarthritis which adds to the pain, but like the fibro it has good and bad days. I just want to be able to move without something hurting; be hyper with my kids again (I have 4 to keep up with!!!) and I don't quite feel like I'm on that road yet. Any suggestions for treatments that have worked for you guys would be awesome.
Avatar m tn Hi I have similar symptoms and have tried ibuprofen with some success. I also got a prescription for Neurontin that seems to give limited relief. Sometimes ice, heat or just resting helps I wish you lots of luck.
Avatar n tn And I am still in pain. I had one doctor that had me on Xanax rather than Valium and it seemed to help with muscle spasams more than the Valium but this doctor seems to think that it is habit forming and Valium is not? In the past I have tried Amytriptiline (Sp?) , Flexeril, Lyrica, Zoloft. I feel like I could open my own pharmacy. I hope that you can find a doctor that can help you. As I am sure you have been told one of the most important things you need is restorative sleep.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Shingles on Monday. Although i had only one small red spot, I experienced three days of extremely intense back and uterine pain prior to my doctor visit. On Tuesday, a rash, wrapping around my middrift ,appeared. The pain intensified to the point of no return. (I suffered nerve damage from a botched angiogram in July/09, so I know pain well.) My question is: Would the Valtrex (antiviral) be ineffective because it was administered after the intense pain had begun?
Avatar f tn Did not help this time. Ibuprofen helps a little but not for long. I also have pain in ear and behind left eye. Please help if you can. I have no insurance and cant see a Doc. for something that is more than likely nothing.
965215 tn?1274955173 Well my bone scan said mild increased activity, rather diffuse, right wrist suggesting either postsurgical uptake or possibility synovitis Then my x-rays said postsurgical changes likely account for the minor asymmetry of activity seen right wrist on bone scan same date Synovitis a possibility to account for this mild asymmetric increased activity on bone scan. I have been taking nsaids for along time now. and nothing has helped.
1386405 tn?1291587800 hi this i defo something no about with my last pregnancy i had severe headaches and i was taking ibuprofen i was taken them all the time but i finally went to the doctors because the pain wouldn't settle and the doctor said DO NOT take ibuprofen just take cocodomal i think thats how you spell it lol.
Avatar f tn I'm in a similar position with medication making me isolate. It's one of the things I hate about taking them. I'm looking into other options like acupuncture. (I am not addicted but addiction is something I worry about constantly.) From what I hear, rebound pain is very common and it should subside, but I don't know how long the rebound pain usually lasts. I'm sure someone will be on later and will be able to answer that for you.
Avatar f tn Is it true you shouldn't take ibuprofen it can harm the baby? I just seen this today while doing research as to this is my first. i have been taking it before I found out I was thinking my period was coming and I've always had bad cramps so I know to start taking it before my period comes to help with the pain. Should I be worried that I've harmed the baby from taking it? I'm 5 weeks BTW.
Avatar f tn is it safe to take ibuprofen when pregnant? Just once? Ran out of tylenol.
Avatar f tn Is 3-6 200mg Ibuprofen a day for a 3-6 days a week bad for you over a long period of time?
