lyrica

Avatar f tn I was pregnant with my 2nd child while taking Lyrica. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 3 months along. when I went to the doctor there was no heartbeat. they sent me for a ultrasound and I had a missed miscarriage and had to have a dnc. I have had another child since and I was taken off lyrica. I has no problems with my 3rd pregnancy. I just wanted to google lyrica and miscarriage to see. My heart stopped when I seen your post.
Avatar n tn It is advised that if one wants to father a child while on Lyrica, to discuss this with your physician. Find out what may be involved first. It may be that he would need to discontinue the medication until you become pregnant. I can understand your concern and would certainly want to know the specifics about the effects it could have on the fetus. You may want to ask this question in the pregnancy forum as well.
Avatar n tn I can't answer that authoratatively. I haven't used nor had patient used. However most of my patients have been greatly helped by botox injections.
986593 tn?1283532211 The irony of all of this is the lyrica makes me feel more wasted than any narcotic. Let me know what you think of lyrica and good luck...I hear ya!
680499 tn?1233851308 pins/needles/slicing/dicing feelings (as in porcupine and fire ant attacks as above post) 150mg at night barely touches the pain, while 225mg seems to dull it enough to allow sleep. Lyrica is a multi headed beast....
237152 tn?1206651036 My pain doc says neurontin is a much safer drug than lyrica and wants me to stick to the neurontin.....lyrica does have a euphoria associted with it with use for some....especially at first....
Avatar f tn Tramadol is a class C drug. Not really safe while pregnant. I believe proper protocol is to wean using methadone. As above said DO NOT GO COLD TURKEY. It can cause a miscarriage. Your baby goes through the withdrawals with you. I would seriously consider finding a new ob. I can't believe they told you that.
Avatar n tn I have b een taking Lyrica for by back for several months. Lyrica is also for nerve damage. I have been 3 days without it(300mg a day) and I must say it truley does help.
131817 tn?1209529311 I started Lyrica in Nov. O7'. I felt horrible for a long time. I went slowly. One pill a week, until I reached 150mg. I hurt all that time. After I had that 150mg ( not much) I started feeling better. It took so long.....more than a month. Finally, I did feel better. I did have breakthrough pain, nothing like I had before, but stabbing here and there. I still do! My Rhemy asked me to up my dose. I refused, as I had sides that put me asleep so often...
Avatar f tn So I really feel positive about it. Hang around for a while and someone who is taking Lyrica will leave a reply.
719785 tn?1232901518 The showing of ID depends on your pharmacy and location and possibly controlled drug. There is alot of insurance abuse going on and many doctors are even asking for ID's now before they will even see you. So just keep in mind alot of ID showing is to prevent insurance fraud. People are desperate and are resorting to all sorts of things.
Avatar f tn Hi, I have had 3 failed back surgeries and now have an SCS unit installed. I still take Lyrica and pain meds. Lyrica is suspost to make the nerve endings (dead) or just not as touchy. I have been on both Lyrica and Neurontin and the Lyrica does help me some. Not as much as my Dr wanted but it gives me about another 5-10% pain reduction. It does not help everyone even if they have the same problems.
210982 tn?1280983895 Hello! My Dr prescribed me Lyrica and I have been readin about this drug, but I can't seem to find anything telling me what is in it. Does anyone know the ingredients? I was told it was a non-narcotic drug but then the leaflet says that it can be addictive and do not stop immediately..blah,blah, blah...does anyone know what is in this stuff?
Avatar f tn Ive been on lyrica and nuvigil fro fibro pain and fatigue, and just found out I'm pregnant. I'm just wondering if anyone else has taken either one of those while pregnant. I've stopped them for i was on only 50 mg of lyrica and about 100 of nuvigil. but I'm still worried, and i feel like I've been hit by a train once again, the pain is almost unbearable, i know my doc personally, have an appt. with him for the 12th.
5164523 tn?1366525959 Lyrica comes in other mg too. My nerve pain is always worse at night, unfortunately I can go back on Lyrica for a while. A word of warning about Lyrica, it caused me to gain weight. Just thought I would pass on the info. Good luck!
874521 tn?1424116797 Lyrica literally made me gain 50lbs in the first 2 months of use and about 80lbs all together over 5 yrs. I was extremely puffy looking and there was no dropping the weight no matter what I did! I also would severely have swelling of the hands and especially feet almost every month around my period week. I wouldn't be able to walk for about a week long each time this would happen.
Avatar f tn Found out I'm 3cwks and 6 days pregnant. And I'm worried because I'm on sleeping tablets Lyrica and Endep. Will these hurt my newly pregnancy ??
Avatar m tn My dr just gave me Lyrica. I have been taking 4 hydros 10/500 a day for several years. I very seldom use more, I took the first Lyrica last night and feel pretty sluggish today. Has anyone on here taken this and had any luck with it? I have read some bad things about it which I guess all of these pain killers have bad side effects. I just want to know has it helped anyone cut back on the other pain killers.
Avatar f tn I have only *recently* been diagnosed with Fibro (Jan 21, 2008) and have been put on both Cymbalta and Lyrica... I find the side effects for Lyrica almost debilitating and I'm unsure if it's really going to help (doc put me on a VERY low dose to begin with, and even that is terminally messing up my system. I feel chronically stoned, now.) Anyways, I guess that's all a bit off topic.
778888 tn?1237989291 I have had fibro for about 20 years and lately it has been worse, pain so bad I cannot rest in bed. I tried Lyrica last night, woke up pain free, but otherwise feeling a little groggy, but my mood was good an I had some energy. Actually felt a little bit "high." What are others experience with this drug--I need to work so I have to function too, does thie really work? Thanks alot!
Avatar f tn The exact percentage of people who developed hair loss while taking Lyrica was not reported. Because hair loss is so common in the general public, it is difficult to say whether hair loss is caused by Lyrica, genetics, other factors, or a combination of these things. If you are taking Lyrica and hair loss becomes a problem, talk with your healthcare provider. Depending on how severe the hair loss is, there are things that he or she may be able to do.
18717293 tn?1467235215 I am 13 wks pregnant with my fourth child. I was told to stop taking my Lyrica during the pregnancy. I am suffering from some pretty severe withdrawl and very concerned about the baby. In need of some help!!!
Avatar f tn I just find that neurontin has basically no side effect and Lyrica does. I took Lyrica and the next day I was 10 times worse off due to pain and fatigue. But you have to decide for yourself whether this is the right drug for you. Remember if you do take it you have to have a card with you that states this in case of emergency where you cannot tell them yourself. I just read this site and was warned to not get pregnant that it would not be a good idea.
Avatar m tn t feel too tired. My doctor feels lyrica suits me and I may be on it for a while longer. Does it help with your pain?
630344 tn?1280104983 An unknown number of people reported to the FDA that they experienced angioedema while taking Lyrica. Angioedema is the term for swelling of the face, mouth, or neck. Neck swelling can be life-threatening.
648910 tn?1290663083 I took Lyrica and had great results with the pain. I did not gain weight while taking it. The Lyrica worked great until my most recent relapse and then it increased the cog fog. Pain wise it worked like a charm after we adjusted it to the correct dose. Good luck with it and my advice is to start it a very low dose to prevent the "woozy" side effects many complain about. Mine initial dose was 50 mg at night and was finally at 100mg three times a day when I had to stop taking it.
