Lyrica vs xanax

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica vs xanax

193953 tn?1272078626 I Hvae weaned myself off of the Xanax I take at night and have to take no pain meds for my head! Lyrica is a Godsend! I know there are side effects but I will take them! Not unless one of them is death and then I would have to think about it!...I am just kidding!
630344 tn?1280108583 This is my first day on Lyrica, and the doctor increased my citalopram! I was wondering if anyone else is on this med and if so did you notice dizziness? I have noticed a decrease in my pain, but a weird like disoriented feeling! I am so tired of pain I can deal with this for awhile, I just was wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms and if so did they go away? So far I am willing to stick anything out as long as I can get some pain relief.
1438550 tn?1283977758 Read all the threads here re) these 2 particular meds. Have my own husband had a severe head injury & became Epileptic w/severe panic attacks every day...he's also on oxycodone which he takes 5x daily AS PRESCRIBED... He has many issues which cause him pain & the test results to back it all up...full body MRIs..CTs..ultrasounds, you name it...constant migraines (constantly seizing/hitting his head), left knee & ankle pain (from falling)..
Avatar n tn Hi Ryan, Why did you write to Ellen that Klonopin could worsen her depression? I have been on Klonopin for about a month and a half and I have noticed an increase in depression (I am NOT on any anti depressants). Overall I just roll with it and try and stay positive and I started to get acupuncture along with talk therapy. This week I will see my p-doc and I'm sure all of this will come up in my visit. Do you think Klonopin causes weight gain as well?
Avatar m tn -) I already take a HIGH dose of Klonopin daily (8 mg), who is not effective anymore and we add 1 mg of Xanax, who work for3 weeks and stop working... so I don't see how my PDoc would be able to add more benzo meds to calm the initial anxiety when I will start the SSRI... For the SSRI, i'm used to all of them... They was like candy for me in the past, no side-effects like increase anxiety but MAJOR weight gain...
Avatar m tn replace them with 2 -- Lyrica 75mg. I'm still on 3--.5mg xanax as well as prozac /heart pills and prevacid .I never use more than prescribed .Should I just deal with life without meds .I'm having trouble going to NA & AA because I still feel like I'm useing. I have been clean of my addiction drug for 6 months . Am I fooling myself thinking I won't abuse these new " "Prescribed "meds. Is Lyrica addictive? it has seemed to help with my nerve twitching and pain.
Avatar n tn The people at the pain center deny any responsibility and attribute everything to Xanax. I have been off the Lyrica and am in the process of slowly tapering off Xanax (will be off of it completely in nine days). I'm wondering if there is any plausible way in which the 5th cranial nerve can somehow tie to the Wernicke area of the brain? I have been forced to take time off from school and am really worried about my next step.
1200968 tn?1291694619 it is probable that ur sleeplessness is not due to tram wd but to xanax wd//perhaps both but xanax wd at 2 mgs a day is enuf to make many peeps pure miserable if they just jump off like u did...300-4000 mgs of trams is significant...there are those who take 1200 mgs of tram per day....a 2 mg xanax dose would be the tougher wd vs 3-400 mgs of trams for most peeps...altho both would be felt by most...we r all different.... Be sure of where ur probems lay...
Avatar m tn So I know how addicting they can be and my doctor would be fully aware of my potential for abuse, but if I got some pain control out of it then it would be worth it. I already take 2-3mgs of xanax and am planning on starting a taprer here soon, but Ive been getting conflicting reports about klonopin and valium being easier to withdrawl off than xanax or ativan because of the different half lives.
648910 tn?1290666683 I just took one so I guess I will find out. I am also wondering about taking my Lyrica and Zanaflex with the Antivert. I don't want to suppress my CNS, that wouldn't be good. I guess the GP knew what he was doing.
Avatar f tn The problem is they have had me on percocet, tramadol, xanax, lyrica, baclofen, and a couple others for a while, and today I find out I'm pregnant. It isn't my first child, but it is my first child I've ever conceived while being addicted to anything, and SCARED to quit!! I want to, obviously, but I don't know that c/t is the way to do it. My first OB told me that c/t is not ok in pregnancy for anything(smoking inc.) But if I taper, am I just slowly killing my baby?
Avatar n tn Injection vs. Oral or IR VS SR Oxycodone produces more euphoria and a faster onset of action! So, if you compare oral Dilaudid to Oxycodone, without question, Dilaudid(Hydromorphone)IR is less addictive than Oxycodone IR(Percocet). Even correct dosage of Oxycodone produces ''Morphine-like'' Euphoria With that said; Dilaudid(Hydromorphone) is more than twice as potent as Oxycodone and if a person injects Hydromorphone it too is highly addictive!
Avatar m tn I do have really bad chronic back pain, and a 3-4 scripts a month. I am on 4-200mg Lyrica, 3-30mg oxy's, and a 50mcg fentanyl patch everyday. I have always taken the oxys too fast and ran out early. But about 4 or so months ago for some stupid reason i decided to snort one of my pills. And i also decided to smoke 1 of them off of foil. PLEASE no one ever do this. Literally before i knew it i had gone through 6 pills in one sitting and it just went on from there.
992677 tn?1537672503 I have been on Lyrica for some time, it was prescribed for pain but has never worked for me, in fact it makes my dizziness much worse (dizzyness is listed as one of the possible side effects) I also noticed I was getting anixity attacks when I started taking it so the Dr's suggested Ativan to help with the dizzyness and feelings of anixity despite the fact it was noted in my medical chart that I developed a dependency to this drug during a stay in hospital some years ago.
Avatar m tn i can tell you first hand i've been taking soma since 1992 i'm up to 5-6 at a time i go thru a scipt of 120 in 5-7 days depending on my job schedule i can only take 3-4 at a time at work with out out people knowing and let me tell you there sneaky little bastards some time 4 messes me up other times i can take 6 and be fine cook clean but theres those times when as my friends call it i get the soma shuffle can't talk, walk and shake like i'm having a seizure as for withdraw i personally never had
Avatar n tn I'm 18 and for a few years I have suffered from severe anxiety and depression.. which i think the depression comes from the anxiety since that's what stops me from doing what i want to do in life. This article really makes me feel less alone, i relate so much. I'm young but i've never liked drinking, smoking pot, etc.. but realized the one thing i really liked were opiates, i would abuse them through high school and off and on for the last 2 or 3 years.. but i never felt addicted.
Avatar n tn two days clean of Xanax..well almost 2-days. I used the Xanax 1mg a day to sleep. Ok... so today I was a bit weepy eyed... I did the Cold Turkey thing because for me it just made sense...I figured I'd take the hit go for the worst of it and get over it. far so good. Went through sweats, and chills runny nose, sneezing, THE FLIPPIN RUNs, Stomach Cramping muscles all know the drill. Today I'm feeling sad... I haven't been out of the house since Xmas Day...
Avatar f tn I can't say that I clearly understand it yet. There are many variants on it. (eg. symmetric vs. assymetric) I suspect that some of the posters here with "bizarre" complaints may fall into that category. I can't talk right now, but later I'll share some of my sites with you. I agree, Stiffman does not answer your weakness and neuropathy. So it is time to redo the MRI's and keep looking.
Avatar n tn Prescribed Lyrica 75mg x daily...worked amazing for the aches, and actually helped the GI stuff too. Klonopin to aid with anxiety and sleep....helped a lot with aniexty, none with sleep, but I didn't mind being awake because the pain was gone. Even more important than meds was diet. Drinking a ton of water, and eating healthy vitamin rich foods. Kefir, activia, fruits, veggies, chicken, rice, etc. Long Term: Long term was hit and miss.
522415 tn?1242941355 They already have me on Cymbalta, Lyrica, Lortab10mg, Soma, Xanax and Ambien BUT I AM IN SUCH PAIN! It is unreal! I know it's not a good idea to double up or whatever but I have in desparation- it does not help! My legs give me the worst trouble. I take magnesium, calcium and a few other natural things. I do swim exercise religiosly now BUT the pain is beyond any pain I've ever been through including natural childbirth!!!
Avatar f tn I drink and pass out all the time. Alcohol used to help me but now I can't even handle it anymore. Im prescribed Xanax for anxiety but they won't give me any more than 2.5 mg. and that does almost nothing for me. Thanks for starting this page, it's nice to be able to read other people's stories and know im not alone.
Avatar f tn Hi bs, the question of long term effects always brings out some passionate discussion on the fact that the coin has two side. Cure vs risk. Information we should all be more aware of. Hector brings up a good point regarding interferon. Not an expert, but have you been tested for autoimmune disorders? If this is the problem perhaps it can be controlled? Hope you find something that works.
Avatar n tn A while back I posted a topic on Morphine Vs Negative Drug screen. It has some very informative info and also explains why the tests can come out negative. Scroll down a few pages and you'll find it or PM Beargizmo, I sent it to him.
