Lyrica vs valium

Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica vs valium

lyrica

478403 tn?1266546009 30 PM it starts to take effect a hour to two after I take it. I sometimes go into a fog where it feels like I'm in a bubble listening to someone talk and I can't really comprehend what they are talking about. My tongue does not work right and I studder sometimes which I never did before. I can't come up with simple words to put in a sentence to finish it. My fingers, hands and feet feel like there is glass in them and I have a feeling of shaking but it's only inside.
Avatar m tn Does anyone take lyrica and if so, has it made a difference resting at night? Thanks.
1291268 tn?1274810922 I was prescribed 300mg of lyrica per day (was on 1600mg neurontin). I have been getting along just fine on 75-150mg lyrica with no noticeable side effects so far. All things considered I am doing better and feeling better then I was before but not miraculously so. My copay for lyrica is 5X more then neuronton so that hurts a bit more. :-) Thanks again to all!
Avatar n tn Talk to your doctor, I think even Tylenol PM would be better than valium. Valium taken regularly will make you forget stuff and you may have brain fog already.
Avatar f tn Is it possible for one missed dose of Lyrica to wreck me?? I notice that if I forget to take it at night I get night sweats and don't sleep well until I remember that I forgot and get up to get my pill. Last night I was out cuz I forgot to pic up my script. I could not get up this morning. I could not drive to get my script. I have never felt this horrible. I changed my neuro appt from next week to tomorrow. When hubby got home we ran to get my Lyrica.
Avatar f tn t feel like it helps as much, and it looks bad on my medication list; vicodin, Lyrica, ambien, valium; I feel it raises the eyebrows of some new doctors. I'm going to see about switching to Baclofen instead of valium, since it seems to help so many here on the forum, and I'm having more spasms during the day. My wonderful pain doctor that has since retired is the one that prescribed Zanaflex for me, and it was a great help. I hope you can adjust to it quickly, and that it helps a lot.
648910 tn?1290663083 I just took one so I guess I will find out. I am also wondering about taking my Lyrica and Zanaflex with the Antivert. I don't want to suppress my CNS, that wouldn't be good. I guess the GP knew what he was doing.
Avatar m tn s hypnotics mostly used for insomnia like temazepam, halcion, tranxene, flurazepam(roofies), and then theyre the anxioltyic benzos usually prescribed for anxiety, panic disorders, sometimes depression, insomnia like xanax, ativan, oxazepam, clonazepam, diazepam(valium).
Avatar f tn The two most common drugs are, indeed, valium (diazepam) and Klonopin (clonazepam). Xanax and Valium are short-acting and clonazepam is long-acting. My preference would be for the longer-acting clonazepam. The longer acting benzodiazepines, although still highly addictive, tend to have less ferocious withdrawal syndromes. Xanax (alprazolam) is notorious for it's addictiveness and severe withdrawal symptoms.
1961084 tn?1325279027 Hey bfisch. Welcome to the forum! Should you be able to wean yourself off Lyrica and Cymbalta it would be great! (Funny one of my staff members was given free Lyrica recently, tried it for a couple weeks and gained a lot of weight while on a diet!. Obviously she stopped taking the Lyrica- she just told me this, embarrassed, yesterday) By using Muscle Ezze and the help of your Chiro or your Doctor it's doable, if it works for you. Did he give you the advanced V40? I have a friend D.C.
986593 tn?1283532211 Just a heads up. My pain doc gave me a script for lyrica to help with the wd. Its for the rls and sleep. I had a taper thursday and the rls came on strong last nite. I have rls to begin with but the wd makes it even worse. I took a lyrica 75mg 1/2 hr before bed and my legs havent been so peaceful in years. Also it works for the sleep and even noticed my pain was better. The nice thing is its a non narcotic and none benzo.
Avatar m tn we taper it with a big dose of Valium... cut to 6 mg of Klonopin + 80 mg of Valium a day, who was a lot sedating at first. I was able to cut very fast my Klonopin dose and be only on the Valium 40 mg a day... and was down to 10 mg day of Valium after 4 months... the withdraw was horrible... had panic attacks all the times... I stop all the benzo meds for 3 weeks but had to be back on the 10 mg of Valium cause of the panic... The panic stop but the social phobia return with vengeance...
Avatar n tn My pain Dr. First tries a drug called Lyrica for patients diagnosed with fibromyalgia. i think one gets "automatically" diagnosed with it once everything else is ruled out! I'm also on Lyrica along with methadone and oxycodone for chronic low back/leg pain. The Lyrica is for my leg pain, which is caused by "nerve pain" as my doctor tells me. I think it may also have some antidepressant qualities, or something like that.
Avatar n tn You could ask your doc for Requip...it is used for restless leg syndrome. There are a few other meds that could possibly help...one of them being Neurontin. Talk to your doc about it....Other than that, I used a heating pad that wrapped around my legs for that wanting to move constantly feeling...it helped some...not alot, but some. Valium will not help for this.
