Avatar f tn I didn't either til I looked up a non benzo wit same effects online.
Avatar f tn I read that lyrica can help with the withdrawals. I was wondering if anyone here has used it for withdrawals? Did it help? What symptoms did it help? The naseousness, diarrhea, ??
1088430 tn?1259159773 Hi! I'm hoping that anyone here who is taking Lyrica for nerve pain will be able to answer something for me...I'm newly on Lyrica (300mg daily) for chronic migraines/headaches and alot of burning that I've been having in my head. Neurologist gave Lyrica instead of Topamax b/c he said there's more than just the migraine issue going on b/c of all the burning. However, it's still officially undiagnosed at the present. I'm having very positive results so far.
Avatar n tn However, you can always contact your local pharmacist for a definitive answer and/or you can input caffeine with lyrica and percocet into a interactions checker on the web. But I am pretty certain that you will not have any severe reactions. Take care.
Avatar n tn Have any benefits been shown for sufferes of hemifacial spasm by taking lyrica? Is there any way to avoid weight gain while using lyrica?
1039200 tn?1314912008 Has anyone heard of Pregabalin (lyrica) for bipolar or anxiety? - my doctor wants me to try, but I have not heard about it before and would like to know if anyone here has tried it or knows anyone who has. Is it used as a mood stabiliser? - I can't find it on the web site ILADVOCATE recomended me a long time ago, does this mean it's not a mood stabiliser or just a new brand?
Avatar n tn Hi. I don't have any experience with Lyrica myself, but I know that it's classified as an anti- epilepticum. Much used for it's analgetic properties(against peripheral and central neuropathic pain) but also it is indicated for GAD (not panic attacks) .
Avatar f tn Most of them (Lyrica, Topamax, Gabapentin, Paroxetine, Cymbalta, etc) are primarily used as either anti-seizure or anti-depresents for that reason. They keep the brain from being overwhelmed. But in the case of nerve damage or a nerve system malformation (Like Chiari or Fibromyelgia) they can help tremendously with chronic pain.
Avatar f tn I guess its good to gradually increase due to not knowing how it is going to affect you but when I increased the last time it was a 225mg increase at once and I was fine, the only thing bad about lyrica for me is the weight gain. Normally all I have to do is take one bite of food and it attaches itself to my body now all I have to do is look at it. But I am working on that.
Avatar n tn However i read that they were treating cancer patients with lyrica for their joint and bine pain ....Could you please let me know if it is safe for her to take lyrica for her fibromyalgia !!! Thank you so much for your time in this matter !!!
Avatar n tn You would still have to get a prescription of it from your doc. But I was a heroin addict for 4 years, and thats what i used to help with muscle aches, pain, and insomnia. And that withdrawl is a lot worst. Also a good thing about muscle relaxers is most of them are non addictive unlike vicodin, perkocet, oxy's, xanax. so on...they helped me a lot. Im on Lyrica right now, its like a muscle relaxer, but its really for fibermialga patients for pain..
Avatar f tn Lyrica, when used by a knowledgeable physician, is an effective medication for nerve pain (and fibromyalgia). You are getting great results from a low dose. Normal dose is 450mg / day. However, the body can become accustomed to Lyrica at these doses, and withdrawal-like symptoms have been experienced. Stay at the low dose for as long as you can.
131817 tn?1209529311 I take 75mg of Lyrica 3x a day. It works fairly well for me I usually take one pill in the morning and two at night. The one thing you have to be careful about with Lyrica is weight gain. Recently I have been losing weight like crazy, so maybe putting some on wouldn't be a bad idea LOL. Good Luck and take care.
Avatar m tn So taking lyrica isn't a substitute for hydrocodion in any way? None of the same substances.
Avatar f tn I have used Lyrica (pregabalin) for 3 months so far and it works for my thoracic back pain and neck pain. Lyrica is an anti-convulsant. Before trying it, or one of the other anti-convulsants (eg gabapentin, carbamazepine, etc), get your doc to check your blood pressure, cholesterol, kidney and liver function, weight, blood cell shape and white cell count. That gives you a solid baseline for comparing against later on, ie when on the medication.
874521 tn?1424116797 t wait to be done with this Lyrica!!! Before the Lyrica I was on Cymbalta and only stayed in that for about a year and had to quit it bc it was making me feel bi-polar, my moods were all over the place and so much crying!! I was definately suicidal, and suffered from bad "zaps" like sticking your finger in a socket except it would zap and jerk me all over especially I'm my head/brain leading to migraines.
14548893 tn?1435103687 Lyrica is very different for everyone. My friend is taking it for MS and it helps her with few side effects. When I took it I hardly could remember my name. I had a stubborn doctor, and you have to titrate off Lyrica. Do NOT just stop taking it. Slowly reduce dosage if you have to go off it. I had such a terrible time on it I can't watch the tv ads for it. As I said, that was me and it is different for everyone. Best of Luck.
Avatar f tn I will let you know. I am on Lyrica and have been for about a year. I am 47 and also been on Topamax for my seizures as well. Too many other AEDs over the past 5 yrs to name . Did the Lyrica cause my "spot" on my MRI that wasn't there on my last mammogram in JUne of last year? Who knows? We will see what my biopsy reveals next Wed.
Avatar f tn Hi Kellic! Lyrica is truly the best medicine for FM. It gave me back my life for 9 fun months!!!! I felt so good during this time - it was like the "old" me was back, before I ever had fibromyalgia. I was so full of energy and life, but then I plateau-ed at 600mg (started out at 75mg) which is the max dose and now I'm back to being in a constant flare up and I'm on disability.
Avatar m tn My doctor gave me a script for Lyrica to treat my anxiety disorder. I was taking 6mg a day of xanax then i just recently switched to 4mg. a day of Klonopin. But she said in Europe the FDA approved Lyrica for anxiety treatment. Its supposedly non addictive. However reviews i have read, users complain of weight gain and increased appetite which my weight is one of my anxieties. Has anyone else tried Lyrica before for anxiety?
Avatar m tn Hi, Lyrica shouldn't be addictive at the low doses used for neuropathy. My grandmothers been on it or the other derivative, gabapentin, for years. Just take it at low doses. It works wonders for treating nerve pain though.
1168718 tn?1464983535 Hi guys, I'm investigating Lyrica, and a switch over maybe, I'm almost at the max of Gabapentin, so am looking into other options. I have heard though that so many people GAIN lots of weight with Lyrica..... have you folks found that to be a problem?? My mother is 79 and was put on Lyrica..( not to sure why), but apparently gained 40 pounds in 7 weeks, and I for soure don't want that. Extra weight is also hard on us with MS........
669241 tn?1236264344 ve been told that it is not addictive. They use Lyrica for Fibromyalgia. For me, it did not work. I used it for about 3 months and had too many side effects and could not function at work with it and had to stop. But, it did work for my pain. Good luck!!!
394774 tn?1235070839 I think any prescription drug is considered a 'controlled substance'. I have used Lyrica for over a year and had no probs. at all discontinuing it last month. This may be different for each individual though. As with any medication taken for a period of time, weaning off is the best approach. If you presented to your physician with pain and you have fibro, then Lyrica would typically be prescribed. Did your doctor seem to believe you may be depressed?
Avatar m tn Used to take high dose of gabapentin and no longer working and decided to try Lyrica. Dr.said if could get used to taking the amitripline during the day it could help and it does but can't function. Now back to just taking it at night and have to suffer all day as the lyrica isn't doing it for me Just hoping someone has a suggestion for daytime relief. Thanks for helping.
Avatar f tn Lyrica for my fibro. I also have RA but going to start detox today from years of taking norcos. I take 20-30 10/325 mg a day. I just don't want to interfere with the detox but I've heard the Lyrica might ease some of the WD pain too since I have fibro pretty bad..
Avatar m tn Ive heard the name lyrica but whats it used for?Congratulations on day1 2the both of u.
