lyrica

Avatar f tn My Rheumy also tride Lyrica and it made me feel so sick and my eye sight blurred horribly. He put me on Ultram ER 200mg once a day and I'm now taking Ultram ER 200mg x 2 a day. It helps a whole lot, although nothing ever takes the pain completely away. I also use Lidoderm Patches. I use 3 a night one on my lower back and one behind both knees. I hope the Ultram ER works for you. Good luck.
Avatar f tn I switched from neurontin to Lyrica for my nerve pain. For me, Lyrica is much more effective and I'm quite pleased with it. I am working to get off of all my narcotic pain meds, but will continue taking Lyrica. Like Neurontin, you do become physically dependent, which only means that you shouldn't abruptly stop it. However, I do not find that it causes any sort of high, nor do I have any urge to abuse it like you would an opiate.
669241 tn?1236264344 I was taking both Lyrica and Ultram. I found that should I miss a dose of the Lyrica the pain was intensified and I didn't like the cognitive difficulty that it caused. I recently discontinued the Ultram after being on it for 3 yrs. Honestly, I am still achy and in pain, but I now see that the Ultram did little to begin with. I never had the dosage increased during the time I was taking it. Take care.
Avatar f tn My eyes blureed before Lyrica. The headaches came after Lyrica. My dizziness left with Lyrica. The common denominator here is that I was taking Neurontin before changing to Lyrica. I found that when I took Nerontin regularly I put on weight, but the pain and flu like symptoms decreased enough to notice the difference.
669241 tn?1236264344 Do any of yo take Lyrica for pain ? And how much do you take? Is it working at all for you?
Avatar f tn Any suggestions would be helpful. Due to a personal finance crash, I am coming off Hydrocodone, Cymbalta, Ultram, and Lyrica all at once. I'm tapering off but it's not feeling very good. I've been off Ultram for a couple of days. I've tapered from 90mg Cymbalta to 30Mg in approximately one week. I've dropped from 40mg of Hydrocodone a day to 20mg. I haven't had to reduce the Lyrica yet but I will soon.
Avatar f tn ve GOT to have something for pain! My doc prescribed Ultram ER for me. I know what to expect from the vicodin withdrawals but I have no idea what to expect from ultram. Im not sure that I even want to try it (depending on the responses that I get here). I don't want to put myself through anything worse than the vicodin withdrawals but as I said, Ive got to have a pain med... Im also currently on Lyrica (about 3 weeks now) and so far, its done NOTHING for my pain. What should I do???
Avatar f tn one year ago iwas taking fentanyl 100mg patch every 3days, 9vicodan,4 soma, ultram as needed and 175 of lyrica for pain management. i forced myself to start physical therapy for i felt i was going to die if i stayed on drugs. I ve beengoing to therapy now for 1 year and i am off all meds except for 3 ultram a day. thisdetox road has been hell physically and mentally. how much longer should this take.
Avatar f tn ve grown from 2 a day to 8, I never miss a pill (I take 18 pills in all per day.)The Ultram helps better than not being on anything for the pain. I was on Lyrica and then Neurontin and the side effects were terrible. I've also done the Lorecet, Percocet and Vicadin. If you haven't tried it give it a try if that's what your and your doctor decide.......
Avatar f tn Since October I have tried Lortab (3 strengths), gabapentin, Lyrica, Ultram, Relafen, Zonegran, and Trileptal. I am also on Cymbalta and Ambien. Any ideas/help would be greatly appreciated.
564072 tn?1218117322 I have chronic pain. I have been to a pain clinic. They said I had myofascial pain syndrome. Now they say it i in the brain stem and want me to see a doctor for behavoir modification. I take neurotin (600 MS 2x daily) for nerve pain, soma (350 mg 2x daily) for muscle spasm, ultam( 100mg 3x daily, clonazepam ( 1 mg 3x dail), celexa (20 mg at night), amitriptylineHCL (200 mg at night). With all this, there are still nighs I can't sleep.
1490116 tn?1304817137 I am house bound right now because I have been sent by my GP to a new PM Doc who stated from the get go he will not treat my condition with anything stronger than ultram. The problem is ultram is not touching my pain. I also have DDD in L4 and L5 and I am in excruciating pain where it's hard to walk, sit and stand. I have three boys and a husband who barely see me out of bed now. I have a project due (I am self employed) at Xmas and time is ticking away.
747443 tn?1233024111 celebrex along with lyrica 150 mg. twice daily. Taken this for one month and no relief.
Avatar f tn I have been given Neurontin by doctors, however, I get ill even on the very low dosages. I find Ultram really helps me on my extremely bad day. Most doctors do not want to give out Ultram but like I said, I only take one on a bad day before I go to bed. I did get a script once for Ultracet but it was not as good for my pain.
Avatar m tn I have tried requip, mirapex, sinamet, gabapentin, lyrica and a host of others. Ultram was the only one that worked well. For three and a half years I was free of the rls syptoms. Now though I am afraid I am going to experience not only increased rls symptoms but also the other withdrawl symptoms associated with quiting the Ultram. I am looking for responses from others that have been in this boat. I never took the drug for recreation. It never made me high it just relieved the Restless Legs.
Avatar n tn I am on Duragesic pain patch, Ultram, Lortab 10 mg, and Lyrica 200mg. I noticed weight gain and swelling in my legs and feet with Lyrica and wanted to know if Topamax could replace Lyrica.
684012 tn?1227990456 I have been seeing this neruro dr for about 5 months now she did diagnoise me with fibromyalgia, cfs, & neuropathy. We are trying to find ways to control the pain. When I take the Ultram, it makes my face break out with little bumps on my checks. Has this happenned to anyone else? My current meds are really not working, I have to go between Ultram & Vicodin, and Skelaxin for a muscle relaxer. I use Lyrica but is causes my ankles and hands to swell.
Avatar f tn ve heard both good and bad reports about those taking Lyrica. The results would depend upon your body and dosage. Lyrica has numerous side-effects (there is an article in our Health Pages regarding this). It can make one feel dizzy and off balance and also causes cognitive problems. I was taking it with good pain results, but not enough to offset the way it made me feel, so I discontinued it. If it isn't helping your pain at all it may not be beneficial for you to continue taking it.
Avatar m tn not long enough to get addicted if they are addictive..have you tried lyrica? some have good luck with it>..
378810 tn?1201987233 I have been on lyrica now for almost three weeks and the pain is somewhat improved but the side effect of weight gain( 5 lbs in 3 weeks) and the puffy hands, increased daytime sleepiness may not be worth it. I was diagnosed with trigeminal neuralgia three weeks ago instead of MS which I thought I had because first doctor had said yes I did...Long story..posted it before...but just wanted to know if others gained weight. Quix have you gained weight on Tegretol?.
Avatar f tn For neuropathy and other sensations I had relief with both Cymbalta and Lyrica. The only downside to the Lyrica was difficulty with cognition and drowsiness. Savella (milnacipran) is the new medication and it works much the same as Cymbalta...it is an antidepressant. As uk2 mentioned, the patches help with pain as well. My current treatment is with Ultram for both FMS and RSD and Trazadone for sleep. It's much a 'trial and error'...
Avatar n tn I have difficulty with slow digestion due to medication (lyrica and ultram). My Gasterentologist prescribed Reglan 10mg Tid and Miralax Bid as needed. I don't seem to have strong enough peristalsis to create elemination. I must strain and push a lot to eliminate what I can but it is thin and ribbon like. Please help with some help or ideas other than give up your fibromyalgia meds. I swear I wouldn't want to go back to that kind of pain again! Can you help?
Avatar f tn I have chronic pain from fibromyalgia and I have been taking ultram for it ... well I have been taking it so long I got addicted anyways I ran out and cant get it filled for a few days yet and I'm in the process of moving.. Ugh.. having WD symptoms while packing and moving boxes is a nightmare!
Avatar n tn t anything they can do but describe pain medication. How were you diagnosed? I was diagnosed via biopsy. I take 600mg of lyrica, ultram (tramadol), and cymbalta for the pain- and it all helps- the burning sensations are so bad that I sweat continuously without all the medications. note- the pain medications really really help!
1069827 tn?1296650628 barbie I have taken Ultram, Ultracet, Effxor, Neurontin, Lyrica, Flexeril and pain meds. All had side effects or made me sick because of UC and IBS. Right now only doing 5mils of Fexeril at night, 20 mils of Tranxene 3 times daily and tylenol. Helping with sleep problems, eases pain just a bit and keeps me calm. Problem though is sleepy, loopy minded, and balance is bad. If you do not have stomach problems Flexeril might help you if you take several doses daily.
