Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica side effects dizziness

lyrica

Avatar f tn 1. Do I really need a higher dose to rid trigeminal nerve symptons? 2. Is gabapentin contributing to balance and gait issues? 3. Are there any other alternatives aside from Lyrica? I thank you in advance for sharing your wisdom.
Avatar n tn I have also been taking Lyrica for years for nerve pain. I have experienced no side effects at all. It does not completely take all my nerve pain away, but I would say it decreases it by about 50%. Does not seem like a drug that one could get addicted to to me but that's just me. Have you considered trying Neurontin? I took it for years prior to Lyrica but found Lyrica worked just a little better for me. They also use it to help with Fibromyalgia pain.
Avatar m tn I was given lyrica for nerve pain in my legs about four years ago. I didn't take a lot of it, only about 50 mgs every other day. My pain got worse, so I asked the doctor if I could double the dose. Doubling just the first couple of times caused swelling in my mouth and around my eyes, so I dropped lyrica altogether. In no time I was hit with xanax type withdrawal symptoms: depersonalization, lack of concentration and dizziness being the most frightening.

Avatar f tn What are the long term side effects of taking Gabapentin for long term pain control?
1283286 tn?1312911966 It is the medication that made her so fat. Look up the side effects in Google. Neurontin and Lyrica are both severe weight gaining and hardly help. My friend had the same nerve pains but "believed" in Neurontin, and I did not dare to say that she is round like a beer barrel. One must put every pill like on a scale and see, "Is it worth it or not"....Since she had anyway nerve pains, I just was wondering but did not want to hurt her feelings.
1286779 tn?1400012806 She went to a doctor yesterday about her hair and the doctor told her that it was because of this medication (Lydrica) But I have seen all side effects and none talk about hair lost. And my mother does not want to leave this medication because its the only one that works for her burning feet. Has anybody else expirence hair loss with Lydrica? She also takes Cymbalta 60mg,lyrica 75mg, Nexuim 40mg, and Tramabol 50mg. What do you all suggest she get tested for ?
653169 tn?1303446369 ve been told the start up side effects on Neurontin are about the same as Lyrica and it took me a little less than a week for that sleepy dopey feeling to subside, and after that I felt ABSOLUTELY normal- like I hadn't taken anything whatsoever. You are on a very SMALL dose, so you'll adjust to it quickly. I'll tell you a funny story- my first week on Lyrica- I accidentally backed out of my garage when the garage door was only half way open.
1088430 tn?1259159773 Hi tia1977! I think it's great that the Lyrica is working so well for you!!! I have never tried Lyrica before and the only person that I know of personally that took it had to stop due to unwanted side-effects BUT side-effects are usually rare and don't effect all people. So, if you are not experiencing side-effects and this medication is working well for you, then I wouldn't let other people's bad experiences with the medication make you worry about taking the medication.
630344 tn?1280104983 I was told that it takes about 2 months to get the full effects of Lyrica and some of the side effects will subside too. Don't give up now and do not stop without proper instructions and does reductions.
Avatar f tn I was curious if anyone experiences really wretched side effects with Lyrica? I find it numbs my mind almost uncontrollably, and causes me to walk around in a fog for most of my day. Unfortunately, my doctor put me on a *very* low dose, because I was concerned about these very side effects. I was hoping someone could tell me whether or not these side effects actually went away, if the body eventually adjusted to them?
Avatar f tn You can take pregabalin (Lyrica) and sertraline (Zoloft) together. However, please note there are additive side effects when taking the two together. They both may cause patients to feel tired, dizzy and drowsy. In addition, patients may have impaired mental function and loss of balance. Please avoid driving and drinking alcohol while taking these medications. Here are more information on the 2 medications: 1. Pregabalin (Lyrica) - MedlinePlus http://www.nlm.nih.

959341 tn?1246884689 I take Lyrica. I am looking for one that doesnt have weight gain as a side effect. Any thoughts? Thanks!
Avatar m tn My Fiance has tried savella which creates severe sweating, Lyrica created nothing but drowsiness and dizziness i read cymbalta is even worse than Lyrica! Is there any treatment for Fibromyalgia you recommend?
Avatar f tn yes, i too had horrible side effects. stuck with it for 2 months, but dr. removed. sweats, muscle tics, did nothing to reduce pain, nausea, extreme fatigue (even more than usual), dizziness, depression. i guess we all have to keep going through the list of meds until we find the one that works for us. im still trying... 3 years now, but im not giving up.
Avatar m tn Getting off Lyrica may cause a number of discontinuation side effects. Quitting Lyrica suddenly can result in withdrawal symptoms including insomnia, headache, nausea, diarrhea and flu-like symptoms.
Avatar n tn lyrica is mostly for nerve pain..I just had fusion...lyrica is of little help..side effects are not great..dizziness, loss of concentration etc..
1649807 tn?1301506020 Most likely it is the Lyrica. I had problems while on Lyrica with dizziness and sounds in my ears. Also, I coundn't sleep. I am back in pain and rather be than all the other side effects.
Avatar n tn Hi there. The common side effects of neurontin are blurred vision, dizziness, and muscle ache, swelling of hands, feet, or lower legs, trembling and unusual tiredness. Lyrica is also known to cause general weakness, lethargy, blurred vision, ascites, facial edema, generalized edema etc. You must consult your neurologist to change your medications since both of these can cause swelling and you have swelling in both the legs.
217229 tn?1192762404 I do not really have any side affects.... The only thing they do for me is make me tired... Try asking your Dr. about Zanaflex.... That will knock you out so you can get a good nights rest.
Avatar f tn I know all these drugs are pretty much the same and their for people with seizures and doctors now give it to people with chronic pain like me! Well I have tried all but not for more than a month. With Elavil I didn't like the way it made me feel. Neurontin and Trileptal I didn't take it long b/c I noticed nothing. I just started taking Lyrica 75mg 3x a day started about almost 2 weeks ago.
