Common Questions and Answers about Lyrica insomnia

lyrica

Avatar n tn Does anyone know for how long Lyrica withdrawal symptoms last for? I was on Lyrica for two and a half weeks and the side effects made me quit cold turkey. 3 months later I still have withdrawals!!!
Avatar m tn Getting off Lyrica may cause a number of discontinuation side effects. Quitting Lyrica suddenly can result in withdrawal symptoms including insomnia, headache, nausea, diarrhea and flu-like symptoms.
Avatar m tn The first symptoms I noticed were fatigue, no libido, chronic insomnia, ED and testicular shrinkage. Then I started having constant sharp pain, burning, stinging in both my feet, calfs, knee (mostly right leg). I started noticing peeing and bowel movement was becoming difficult (trouble starting, frequency). Then started having testicular pain and sharp pain in the rectum (Urologist diagnosed rectum pain as pelvic floor problem and physical therapy has been helping the rectum pain only).
Avatar f tn If Gabapentin does not work there is Trileptal or Lyrica. These are for nerve pain. For spasms you need a muscle relaxer. A lot of people with MS take Baclofen or Zanaflex. But like I said each person is different. My problem was Doctors kept adding meds and not taking any away until I was on over 20. I got off everything and started from scratch. Too much of a medication or combinations can make you hyped up.
18717293 tn?1467235215 I am 13 wks pregnant with my fourth child. I was told to stop taking my Lyrica during the pregnancy. I am suffering from some pretty severe withdrawl and very concerned about the baby. In need of some help!!!
Avatar f tn I have been reading on the Internet alot about narcotic withdrawals. I read that lyrica can help with the withdrawals. I was wondering if anyone here has used it for withdrawals? Did it help? What symptoms did it help? The naseousness, diarrhea, ??
Avatar m tn As some of you know I'm withdrawaling from opiates (hydrocodien/Vicodin) and I'm diagnosed with something that causes restless legs syndrome (RLS) which is why I'm prescribed lyrica.. I've been going through all the opiate withdrawals and insomnia was a big factor,so my mom gave me something called triazolam also known as (halcium) it's for insomnia.
Avatar m tn ve been taken lyrica because I know it helps with opiate withdrawals as far as restless legs and insomnia. Even though I still have the diarrhea and flu like symptoms. My question is this by me taken idk (2) 50mg of lyrica a day (which isn't much) will it affect or prolong my withdrawals from opiates( hydrocodien)?..
Avatar m tn we almost rejected it. Big mistake - but she decided to try it (Lyrica) - and she is most grateful - and blessed - to have almost 100 % pain relief -for about one and a half years now. Of course, we know that others may not have the same relief she did. Her main issue now is extreme insomnia - only averaging about 2 to 3 hrs of sleep (sometimes not that much) in 24 hours. She is, as you might imagine, extremely fatiqued most all the time. Any help, please?
Avatar f tn It is sedating and thus frequently prescribed for sleep for those who have insomnia with anxiety/depression. You can take during the day but it is sedating and you should use with care until you know it's daytime effects. Let me know how you make out if you decide to use it. Has your neurologist ever recommended neurontin or lyrica?

Avatar m tn I take Remeron for depression and Lyrica for the fibro pain. I could not sleep at night until I started the Lyrica and now I sleep right through. I wonder if it is the Cymbalta affecting your sleep.
Avatar f tn I am even embarassed to even share my story with you. I have abused prescription drugs since my high school days. And I did get clean from some of them. But when the doctor put me on Lyrica for my fibromyalia, (I'm so ashamed to tell this), but I found that by taking 6 Lyrica capsules (90 mgs each) at one time, it made me feel really good. This last time I went through bottle in about a week and I feel Horrible! I did not know coming off of Lyrica could make you so sick.
Avatar f tn In the last month i started experiencing severe depression, insomnia, memory issues, mind fog and libido issues. My orthopedic specialist tried switching me to Lyrica for 3 months back in 2014 with horrible immediate side effects. Switched back to Gabapentin. I am asking if there is another neuropathic pain medication to use as an alternative to Gabapentin. I agree that the Gaba helps with nerve pain, however the side effects are scaring me.
590447 tn?1218787837 WELL, OF COURSE I ENDED UP WITH MAJOR DEPRESSION,ADHD,PTSD,PANIC ATTACKS, INSOMNIA AND C.O.P.D.(LUNG DISEASE.WELL, ONE DAY MY BACK REALLY STARTED HURTING BEEN A YEAR NOW.WENT TO MY OLD I REPEAT OLD DR.TOLD HIM ME BACK IS REALLY BOTHERING ME I CANT STAND LONG TO CLEAN DOING ANYTHING IN MY HOUSE WITH EXTREME LOWER BACK PAIN.SO HE DOESN'T CHECK MY BACK OR ANYTHING,HE SAID OK LET DO FLEXRIL AND DARVOCET.THAT PAIN MED WAS A JOKE IT DID NOTHING TO HELP ME.
Avatar n tn But I was a heroin addict for 4 years, and thats what i used to help with muscle aches, pain, and insomnia. And that withdrawl is a lot worst. Also a good thing about muscle relaxers is most of them are non addictive unlike vicodin, perkocet, oxy's, xanax. so on...they helped me a lot. Im on Lyrica right now, its like a muscle relaxer, but its really for fibermialga patients for pain..i take it to help me sleep and it also helps with anxiety. Good luck..
Avatar n tn I went through a bout of insomnia last spring, before I was diagnosed. Well, I'm not really sure it was insomnia, but I couldn't sleep for more than 2-3 hours at a time, because my symptoms would intensify the longer I was lying down or even just reclining. (My symptoms have always shown an odd dependence on my posture.) I'd wake up in unpleasant states, with a lot of sensory symptoms and other discomforts, and then wouldn't be able to get back to sleep for hours more.
986593 tn?1283532211 Abrupt or Rapid Discontinuation Following abrupt or rapid discontinuation of LYRICA, some patients reported symptoms including insomnia, nausea, headache, and diarrhea. LYRICA should be tapered gradually over a minimum of 1 week rather than discontinued abruptly. Hmm, sound familiar?
271872 tn?1238590391 sounds like a legal problem with this drug, i have never taken lyrica but its a big topic over at opiatedetoxrecovery.
Avatar f tn I take Nortriptyline (50 mg) for insomnia and chronic pain (I have CFS/FMS too). For those of you with insomnia that requires medication, what med are you taking? I tried Trazadone and Klonopin and couldn't sleep. I am worried about taking Ambien longterm. Benadryl and Phenergen are possibilities? I may just have to stay on the Nortriptyline, but it would be nice if I could find something that works but doesn't make POTS worse.
358486 tn?1294776388 I have taken Lyrica for 3 yrs now, but I saw a Rheumy 2day that suggested that I switch to Celexa. Unsure what 2 do?? Anybody here take Celexa? I was told it helps Fibro Pain & also Anxiety & Fatigue too...that would be Great! but I am still hesitant to try the switch. ANY info or help learnin' more about this drug would be Greatly Apprecited!
Avatar m tn I suffer from SEVERE fatigue, muscle and joint pain, insomnia, depression, and irritability. I am to have a follow up appointment this week to discuss treatment options. My rheumo. has offered/recommended the following: Savella, Cymbalta, or Lyrica. I need some honest feedback from those with Fibro. that have tried these different treatments and which ones worked for you and which ones had extreme side effects, or did not help.
1961084 tn?1325279027 Hey bfisch. Welcome to the forum! Should you be able to wean yourself off Lyrica and Cymbalta it would be great! (Funny one of my staff members was given free Lyrica recently, tried it for a couple weeks and gained a lot of weight while on a diet!. Obviously she stopped taking the Lyrica- she just told me this, embarrassed, yesterday) By using Muscle Ezze and the help of your Chiro or your Doctor it's doable, if it works for you. Did he give you the advanced V40? I have a friend D.C.
5100586 tn?1363644754 I have a question regarding lyrica withdrawal symptoms ................ I am currently suffering with this and am on day 38 with no end in sight from these godawful symptoms ............... in fact, it has gotten worse in the last 48 hrs, which is so depressing, as I thought I would improve as I distanced myself from the drug ...
Avatar f tn I was just put on Lyrica, the doc thinks I might have Fibro...I have all the symptoms that go along with it...I have noticed though over the last week since I've been taking it that my anxiety has increased and it feels like my heart is beating faster....I have always been on Xanax for anxiety ( last 4 yrs. ) but I haven't had to use it as much until lately...or could this just be a symptom of Fibro since it's really flared up due to the cold weather?
